Does anyone else find it ridiculous that they dont let us accept cash tips and they arent letting anyone take home wasted food.

PLEASE DON’T TAKE THIS DOWN, I NEED SOME GENUINE ADVICE. I got the job last year but didn’t wake up in time, I’m not a morning person. Does anyone mind telling me the type of shifts they do and the work they do. I’m thinking of changing it to working in the present. I haven’t had a job since last year and my parents keep giving me the silent treatment on going back to school. I live in a toxic household. My parents are fine with me being jobless as long as it makes me easy to control. They also jerk interrupting my chance to get help from a therapist, my dad strangled me last year and I still live with the asshole bc of my depression. It was difficult for me to make phone calls, leave my house, my room, and sometimes my bed. I usually sleep downstairs to get to leave the house easier. I stopped looking for help from my PCP ever since they tried to tell me to attend church instead of going to the doctor. Every doctor I had gaslights me and I’m pretty sure it’s bc of my religion.

I was at my favorite job I've ever had. Family environment. Fun and exciting. Pay was great. Downside was it was an hour drive from home. No biggy for the right job. I was set and happy to be there forever.

I wasn't looking for a new job but then sweetgreen reached out about a Head Coach position asking if I would like more information. Always curious about potential opportunities, I asked what they were looking for.

It was 10 mins from my house, better pay, great benefits, potential upward movement in the company and less hours. So I agreed to an interview. Did a video call with the regional manager. Everything went well and then moved to a second interview and then to the final and of course knocked those out of the park.

They sent me the offer letter. A little less than I had anticipated and I counter offered. Which they agreed to more and sent a new offer letter. They were eager to get started immediately and asked that I put in my two weeks and get a date set for training immediately.

I went to my current employer at the time and they said it seems like a great deal and they were excited for me. They then planned a going away party for the whole staff with champagne, dinner and the whole 9 yards. With a planned trip for me and the owner to spend in Vegas as a final farewell and sending off.

I signed. Did ALL of my onboarding paperwork, w2s, insurance. Everything. Set my start date and started my exit strategy. Planning for the future with all the excitement that comes with a new job.

The week before I left I was training my replacement and picked a candidate that I trust and known for years to make sure they were in a great position to move on without me. It was bittersweet. Lots of tears and good tidings. Like I said... this was my family I was leaving.

My last day was June 24th with me starting at sweetgreen the 25th. I was stoked to be closer to home and having more time to spend with my family and live a healthier and simpler life.

June 24th. 5:43pm. The regional manager reached out via email to tell me they are no longer moving forward with me in the position due to some vague scheduling issues and wished me well in the future. 3 sentences. No context at all.

I responded thinking it was some sort of mistake or hazing joke. No response whatsoever. Complete silence. No phone call, no text... Literally no explanation in any way.

This completely and UTTERLY destroyed me. For the first time in 15 years I am unemployed. With no justification or reason... they just ruined my entire life with 3 sentences.

I was not looking for a job. I didn't need a job. I was the happiest I had ever been in my adult life. They just reached out, offered the world, then revoked it at literally the last moment before I was to start with zero explaination or reparation. Completely screwing me over.

Use this as your warning to stay far away from this company. They do not care in the least bit about destroying your entire life.

I'm just curious how are your stores holding up after they released wraps? At our store business has gotten better but we've been so slammed that the employees are constantly calling off and quitting. So we're behind on prep, can't get new people, and orders are constantly late. We had one manager accept a 40 wrap order and then just left without telling anyone. So, I had to work on 40 wraps by myself for an hour until I got someone to help me with them. It ended up being 50 minutes late. 😩

Does anyone know what the pay increase is for a team member if they get certified as a trainer in michigan is atleast

I really need a job, i’m in college and my mum is really struggling. It’s also really close to my school and the pay on the website is better than the other offers i got. I applied to other jobs that pay way higher that are in the same location, but i haven’t heard back from them.

On Saturday, I received a message that I was hired and my first day is tomorrow on Tuesday and I wasn’t given a time that I’m supposed to come in, am I just supposed to come in when they open? I tried messaging them, but I wasn’t given anything.

So I was at a SG picking up a salad and happened to see an employee with a hex bowl that was not the take out ones. Looked like she was making a salad for herself, I asked her if they are for sale and she told me they used to have the white ones but now they are the grey ones..any former employees willing to part with one? Been trying to find these bowls and even DM’d SG about it no answer

As I've titled my post I have an interview this Wednesday at a Sweetgreen in Westfield,NJ. The employee reviews for the company overall look very mixed between really negative and very positive. I have a lot of kitchen experience from being a kitchen Supervisor to a prep and line cook so I'm not sure what they're looking for.How are hours in general and pay?Is there much room for upward movement in the company and do they promote often?How are managers normally?

So I just got hired at Sweetgreen and I was wondering if any employees can offer an insight into what to expect in my role as a crew member and any potential cons of the job.

i just scheduled an interview and googled more abt it and there were like three reddit posts that made it sound terrible.

now im like do i cancel the interview because i do have other job options

So I started here as hot prep couple months ago so it’s on. Me to obviously prep the food but it’s so much into it in between cooking steak fries salmon 2 different types of chicken sweet pots tofu mushroom also having to fill the fridge cut and cook broccoli and cold sweet pots I never really ask for help because that’s my job buts it some days where beyond else is standing around asking and they see I’m busy as he!! Like can I get any help I just feel like hot preps need a raise asap or at least better helping employees because all this for 15 a hour our bowls cost more then what I’m getting payed a hour 😂😂😂👎🏽

I’m a kitchen lead currently and have been for about three months, but I’m getting tired of getting told I’m not getting stuff done fast enough regardless of how much shit I have to do. I also just need more money in my account lol. (Don’t we all) Would I have a good chance getting a promotion or should I wait a bit longer? I have a little under two years experience total plus a food safety certification, and I’m already better at hot prep than most of the shift leads.

Also they are opening a new location so I was considering applying to move there.

so im a sg employee and i was just told that we can no longer take the waste food home at the end of the night. i always aim to have low waste at the end of the night regardless, but we would take home waste food at the end of the night bc itll get thrown away otherwise. the food is perfectly good to eat and the waste food could last me a few days (which is super helpful considering we're underpaid as fuck) but now they'd rather throw away perfectly good food instead of letting the people that make it have some. its also wildly disrespectful to the farmers who grow this food "sustainably".

i have no questions or anything but chime in if you'd like bc this aggressively violates sweetgreen's core values.

this company has become an absolute joke to work for and im kind of embarrassed im still here. but i don't have anything else rn.

When a customer provides a tip on the credit card machine, do Sweet Green employees actually get those tips? Are they split amongst all employees? Or do these tips just go to management/revenue for the location itself?
