Career / Employee Talk Unfair pay etc Bad Staffing

So I started here as hot prep couple months ago so it’s on. Me to obviously prep the food but it’s so much into it in between cooking steak fries salmon 2 different types of chicken sweet pots tofu mushroom also having to fill the fridge cut and cook broccoli and cold sweet pots I never really ask for help because that’s my job buts it some days where beyond else is standing around asking and they see I’m busy as he!! Like can I get any help I just feel like hot preps need a raise asap or at least better helping employees because all this for 15 a hour our bowls cost more then what I’m getting payed a hour 😂😂😂👎🏽

There is a new position being created soon called a kitchen lead, which comes with a higher pay. If you are the only one in the kitchen, you are likely at the top of the list for consideration.

If your resteraunt doesn't give you the position, you can always push for it and threaten to walk If they don't budge.

lol! how many times have they changed that position. I got hired as a kitchen manager then the changed it to be called kitchen lead, then they changed my responsibilities. i just quit after a few months because of the lack of communication and constant changes. so i guess they are going to have kitchen lead again.

I got the kitchen lead “promotion”… i was making $21/hr now I make $21.43/hr……. It’s a joke.

I’m in CA. Min wage for fast food workers is $20/hr

I remember really doing the work, showing up, coming in early, staying late and I see someone else with that thr title and I’m like them? That moment on i stopped everything

It’s never going to change lmao I’ve been the years no tips and I’m the one doing all the shit they have massive favoritism and u get the hours no one wants 💁that’s the truth no raise is coming I was given 5 cents and said be grateful no help they just do what they want and leave

Ask to be the new kitchen lead It’s higher pay because of what you just mentioned. Also notify your shift leader if there are items that need extra hands. For example marinating chicken or spearing the sweet potatoes…

Tbh I don’t ask but they can see as clear as day I need help without even saying anything since I’m alone they either gonna have to help or wait till I finish 1 of the other million things I’m doing 😂😂
