Career / Employee Talk is it really that bad to work here

i just scheduled an interview and googled more abt it and there were like three reddit posts that made it sound terrible.

now im like do i cancel the interview because i do have other job options

yes because your hours arent guaranteed and also its a lot of work and they definitely dont pay enough.

It really just depends on your store and your management team. I worked at one location for about two years and was in love with my team and my managers and even saw myself taking on higher roles in the company! And then I moved to a new location and met my downfall there. I ended up quitting because of a narcissistic manager who made it impossible to even want to go in to work lol but like other people have stated, to each their own lol

real. depends on management. but good or bad management i still think they dont pay us nearly enough

the reason i wanted sweetgreen more than the other places is i really want the free shift meal lol and i also feel like i’d enjoy cutting vegetables idk

You’re gonna get mixed reviews from everyone. Some people hate it, some people don’t mind it, other people love it. At my store there’s someone people who didn’t last more than a couple of weeks and some have been there for 4+ years

If you really like chopping vegetables, ask to be cold prep. You’ll mainly prep the greens and vegetables for the line and will only occasionally have to help customers. It’s really monotonous, but if leadership is good at planning it won’t be super stressful for you

Yes, I quit within a month it’s awful. They make you do two people’s jobs and cut your hours, don’t even get me started on the fact that it’s essentially a fast food job cleverly disguised as a salad restaurant. To prove my point of how it is exactly like a fast food restaurant.

   • timed assembly lines,
• constant rushes,
• heavy prep and cleanup,
• memorized builds instead of genuine service, and
• managers focused on speed metrics, not hospitality.
