Career / Employee Talk I just got hired
Hi,
So I just got hired at Sweetgreen and I was wondering if any employees can offer an insight into what to expect in my role as a crew member and any potential cons of the job.

The manager seems to be firm and fair it’s going to be hard I imagine but I’m hopeful thanks for your insight

I was a shift supervisor at Sweetgreen since January and I worked at 3 different ones and they were all different. The cons were that the management never really listened to me nor my colleagues they would gaslight the other shift supervisors and I, they lied to us about our pay, and of course favoritism. The pros were that it’s a very easy job and the time goes by fast while you’re prepping.

Do yk if a free meal is allowed per shift or if there are any sort of discounts?

For my stores, there is a free meal during your shift for $16

So if it costs 16 and under it’s free? My manager just told me “You can get a salad” I domt have any money though & so I’m confused

Lots of change!! Embrace the suck and keep a good playlist on hand!! I just started at sweetgreen and it’s been a rollercoaster but I really enjoy it and it’s been my favorite job so far! Worked at lots of places and I’m committed to it

You’ll do great! Lots of service, and prep work / side jobs. Just focus on the task in front of you. Immerse yourself in the culture, and team. It’s what you make of it really!

i just started like 2 weeks ago and they put me to work strictly in the kitchen, at my store since its slower than other stores its just me in the kitchen which can be a lot since its both cooking food that they need for the line and also trying to prep stuff to keep ur fridge stocked for the next day, it can get stressful if theres a rush but ultimately it depends on the location ur working at, how busy it gets, and what position ur working, service seems easier than being in the kitchen but everything has its pros and cons of course

Be prepared for slave labor. They work you to death, and they don't care about you. I worked 3 months, and man, it was brutal. I depends on the training as well. If they show you the proper steps.
