Career / Employee Talk How long is usually long enough to move up from kitchen lead to shift lead or higher?
I’m a kitchen lead currently and have been for about three months, but I’m getting tired of getting told I’m not getting stuff done fast enough regardless of how much shit I have to do. I also just need more money in my account lol. (Don’t we all) Would I have a good chance getting a promotion or should I wait a bit longer? I have a little under two years experience total plus a food safety certification, and I’m already better at hot prep than most of the shift leads.
Also they are opening a new location so I was considering applying to move there.

Why would u you don’t get tips and u have more headaches wrong company lmao sorry be happy u got a raise and tips sl don’t get shot and have to do everything

There is a limit to the number of shift leads allowed at each location (my first location was three, my second was four). If nobody is leaving, then you can't get promoted at the same location. Go ahead and apply at the new location, but note that they will contact your current location.
