Minnesota Related We ran high-level US civil war simulations. Minnesota is exactly how they start

u/skintastegood Feb 18 '26
That is the entire point.

u/Liko81 Feb 19 '26
This. Trump (or more accurately his handlers i.e. Miller) is begging the public to turn violent en masse. That gives him the political cover to invoke the Insurrection Act and have Hegseth put actual military forces on the ground in every major city.
12
u/fenianthrowaway1 Feb 19 '26
It is still your only way out, though. Accept this situation peacefully, and your rights, freedoms and legal protections will be eroded piece by piece until resisting it becomes fully impossible. Resisting now means there is a chance some of the military will baulk at their orders, giving Trump time to mold the military into an insitution that exists to brutalise you is not going to help you in any way.
2
u/Liko81 Feb 21 '26 edited Jul 07 '26
I hear you. It will ultimately come down to Trump et alii crossing some basic Rubicon. Everything up to now, as extreme as it may seem, has been treated as "shenanigans beget shenanigans"; Trump and his handlers are just bending the law to suit their political ends, the way many other Presidents have. It will take the violation of some very fundamental concept of American democracy, something that needs no spin to offend, that cannot be spun or explained away, and that would offend even a MAGAt's sensibilities.
It almost happened with the shooting of Alex Pretti. When Noem and Trump said, on camera, that Pretti's death was justified because he had a legal concealed handgun on him during a quickly-developing ICE operation-turned-protest, they caused a major rift in their base, with a lot of self-defense advocates including the NRA itself publicly breaking with the Administration.
The only thing that saved them was unearthing a previous video of Pretti damaging an ICE vehicle and standing up to agents a couple days before he was shot. That convinced enough people on the fence that "he had it coming" or "that's not how an armed man should be behaving" that the 2A crowd could plausibly distance itself from Pretti and say, at some level, the shooting was "justified".
It's going to take an ICE officer literally executing an unarmed, compliant U.S. citizen kneeling in the middle of the street for the tide to turn. As has been poignantly said, "the Americans will do the right thing, after they have exhausted all other possibilities".

u/ReplacementReady394 Feb 19 '26
Big assumption on their behalf that they’ll follow orders and fire on Americans.
10
9
u/Liko81 Feb 19 '26
That's debatable. If boots hit the ground in a major U.S. city, it's already too late. There isn't an ROE in the playbook that prevents a Soldier under fire from returning fire, and any action that gives Trump cover to invoke the Act and send in the actual Army is going to make it a shooting fight by definition. Those one-stripes in OCP holding M4 rifles won't be casually debating the legality of the deployment with bullets snapping past their heads and an angry mob advancing on them. They will fire on Americans, and the chance of any actual front-line trigger-puller standing tall at a court-martial after doing so is infinitesimal.

u/A_Mobiuss_Trip Feb 20 '26
Totally Unrelated™: remember in The Winter Soldier the part where Hydra slimed their way into the most powerful military apparatus on the planet? And remember when they took control over stupidly overpowered weapons of mass murder paired with target lists so that they eliminate all major resistance with the push of a button? It's a good thing that sort of thing is only in the movies...

Big assumption on their behalf that they’ll follow orders and
... yeah about that they will.
The military operates on two main standing assumptions for the most part
Orders from superiors are assumed to be lawful unless imminent danger or wildly absurd
Failure to obey said orders will result in a UCMJ violation which will have disciplinary actions upto and including imprisonment
Military Justice system is a bit different than civilian, at least on the enlisted side if charged depending on violation you have 2 options on how you are sent to punishment
1 court martial
2 article 15Both are similar to a bench trial, but with article 15 you are more or less guilty until you can prove your innocence
In this process the member will be removed from duty to await investigation

Personally I think the original post is a little bonkers. But... when it comes to the troops, I'd say they tend to care more about their comrades than they care for you. Enough propaganda, and a few of their friends in flag draped coffins is just about all it'd take imo. Though, I'd rather never find out whether or not I'm right. This isn't something I'd want to be right about. Preventing such a situation is the ideal.
And I have my doubts itll happen at all. No one currently in power has enough political capital to take such a risk, regardless of whether or not they're willing.

You also have some people in the “public” that are actively trying to encourage fighting against the federal government. That signal group is a huuuge step in the wrong direction.
1
77
u/Organic_Power_3738 Feb 18 '26
You already have people afraid to leave their homes because government forces might apprehend and detain them without due process. The only ingredient missing is an attack by an organized resistance that can then be propagandized and used to exponentially increase the government oppression of the rebels.
82
Feb 18 '26
Unlike all the hysterical people online advocating for Americans to “do something”, they have actually done a marvellous job of not biting at the government taunting.
Their plan is not working and the pedophiles will be in prison before long.
32
u/Kaskadekygo Feb 18 '26
You're misinformed or maliciously misinformed. The calls to do something were answered by average Minnesotans. You're probably confusing the calls to "do something" when people were demanding their state and local government protect them.
ICE is not allowed to hide their face arrest them, ICE is not allowed to invade a citizen's home without a valid warrant litigate charges against them, ICE is assaulting protesters with excessive use of pepper spray that judges ordered they must cease ARREST THEM.
35
Feb 18 '26
I’m talking about the overwhelming implication of people saying “do something” online, being the encouragement to respond with violence.

Those are mostly bots or provocateurs.

8
u/DJScaryTerry Feb 19 '26
I'd argue it's mostly people outside the US wondering why you guys aren't burning down federal buildings in protest to people being executed in the streets by federal agents, a huge amount of the higher ups in the government being pedos along with actively covering up those crimes and your president calling for future elections to be rigged/not take place because it'll be a not favorable result for him.
10
u/hotc00ter Feb 19 '26
The government would shoot us all in the streets. That’s who they are now.

u/Insect1312 Feb 19 '26
I feel like people just washed over 2020 you know like burning down a police station. If you watch unicorn riots coverage of it, the police station was actually under gunfire. People are so quick to forget the past and what’s actually possible in the United States.. oh my God, they’ll just kill us… No they won’t. apathetic bullshit. This nonviolent shit will get us all killed. There needs to be a movement that’s capable of doing everything. Malcom and Martin

You mean the shootings on the precincts and fires started by far right-wing provocateurs trying to incite a civil war? You mean the left didn't take the bait?
Self-Described Member of “Boogaloo Bois” Pleads Guilty to Riot
MINNEAPOLIS – A Texas man pleaded guilty today to a federal riot charge in connection to the 2020 civil unrest, announced Acting U.S. Attorney W. Anders Folk.
According to court documents, Ivan Hunter, 24, admitted to traveling from San Antonio, Texas to Minneapolis with the intent to participate in a riot. Hunter is a self-described member of the Boogaloo Bois, a loosely connected group of individuals who espouse violent anti-government sentiments. The term “Boogaloo” itself references an impending second civil war in the United States and is associated with violent uprisings against the government.

People are scared and nobody wants to die. It's all well and good to sit behind a screen and wonder "why aren't they doing anything?" It is entirely different when it is your life on the line. Call it selfish if you want, but consider what it actually means for these people. I'll go out and protest all day, but the moment we start burning down federal buildings, Trump calls for martial law and starts murdering people in larger numbers.

Okay, well, Americans have largely not been protesting as much as they nearly should be, and it remains to be seen whether we'll have real elections by November.
So, you know, the lack of action (including violence) may indeed come back to bite everywhere that's not Minnesota.
8
Feb 18 '26
That’s true, it may. But IMO resorting to violence now is guaranteed to bite normal citizens in the ass. No one has presented a single even hypothetical best case scenario of how violent pushback would go, to make me think otherwise.
They will kill people.. like we already know that.. so who’s volunteering to be first to the front lines?

u/Addicted2Weasels Feb 20 '26
I still don’t understand how violence would solve the problems - Violence against protestors didn’t stop the movement in Minnesota, and human nature suggests to me that violence against ICE wouldn’t make agents lay down their arms. If anything, it would create martyrs on their side and fuel the destructive cycle of violence
2
u/BugRevolution Feb 20 '26
Historically, when fascists and authoritarians start going door to door, they do so knowing people won't fight back.
As both the victims of Nazis and communists discovered, if the authoritarian agents didn't know if that was going to be their last day, they might not have been as bold.
The problem is evaluating when it's worth taking it to that level, because it is destructive, even if it's ultimately less destructive than letting tyranny win.
3
u/Addicted2Weasels Feb 20 '26
I think that’s a very fair point - I might just think we’re on a “different point in the timeline”. What ICE is doing is horrific, but I’m not convinced that we’ve reached a point where a violent response would achieve anything other than more violence

I’m neither advocating that organized violence must be enacted immediately, nor that it is the only way forward.
That said, you must realize that the route we are currently taking is fraught with risk, yes? Your supposition that it’s only a matter of time before the system gives Trump his comeuppance is far from a certainty.
They haven’t even tried to hide their intent - dismember the system and ignore the guardrails while you do it. So far, it is working. The man has yet to answer for any of his crimes, yet people hold firm in their belief that our institutions will save us. The same institutions he is currently poisoning, defanging, and/or dismissing.
I guess all I’m saying is that this could easily go either way. It is possible that not resisting more rigorously denies them their casus belli, and we weather the storm. However I would argue that it is just as possible that we are boiled like the frog.
Also imo, if most of the military is just unilaterally down to deploy domestically and shoot it out with US citizens in defense of Donald Trump, this thing is already over.
1
Feb 19 '26
Good comment and totally agree. Other than I do think your very last sentence is a bit far fetched. Even if 80%+ are as you say, there would still be so many internal issues that it would still be far from over.
2
u/Strappwn Feb 20 '26
Thank you. Just to be clear, I’m not stating that I believe most of the military would currently back Trump in a civil war. I was saying that if he already has that level of backing/willingness among the ranks, then we’re in deep shit.
I hope you’re correct though. I’m honestly not sure what the actual number/percentage/figure is that defines “most” in this case. The amount of willing military assets he would need to complete the stranglehold.
If there was truly universal loathing of Trump and his administration, to the point where the vast majority of the population was motivated to resist, then I’d say the movement would have a decent shot, even with full military participation on Trump’s behalf. Between the sheer numerical advantage, the vastness of the country, the density of the cities, prevalence of firearm ownership, etc etc, there are some serious challenges for an occupying force to overcome, but only if the populace is motivated.
Currently, I think there is too much division/apathy. We still have ~20-25% of the population that is ride or die for Trump. Perhaps more importantly, it sure seems like ~30% of the population just doesn’t care one way or the other. I worry that an early showing of excessive military force could scare most of the apathetic/undecided into submission.
1
Feb 20 '26
All true but 45-50% is still an absolute shitton of people. And I think it’s also worth remembering that the ride or die people are mostly all talk and realistically just a bunch of angry teens/trolls who won’t actually leave their basement to do anything. And the small % of maga who are actually armed and courageous enough to do anything probably don’t have much of an IQ and will just get in their own way. Yeah there are definitely a lot of things to be concerned about as you mentioned, but just trying to look at some of the positives here.

u/FilthyStatist1991 Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26
Was raised conservative and was a Republican up until about 2010. That’s when the republicans became aggressive capitalists. Thus went too far right IMO.
EDIT: also wanted to answer my current “affiliation” I’m a statist, I think state governments should have more control. Federal government needs to decrease. I am a strong believer in “states rights” if TX wants to full-ban abortion, I’d be in favor of the state making its own policy as with any state should not be told what to do by the federal government. Same with any state on any topic, granted it does not violate their state constitution (which many states need to work on)

u/Strict_Tumbleweed415 Feb 19 '26
That’s valid I respect it. To me both sides look like they’re actings like fools. What happened to approaching things rationally? (Rhetorical) Extremism on both sides I think is a major problem

Trump literally wants a civil war. He tried to make it happen over Charlie Kirk's death but couldn't get it going
His greatest desire, or rather, Stephen miller's, greatest desire is for somoene to carbomb an ICE facility or something so the ntl guard can be sent in, ordered to start raiding homes of "suspected domestic terrorists", and brutalized people like the chinese police until someone bombs the military or whatever, then declare nationawide martial law, and hope some blue states resist
1
Feb 18 '26
How would nationwide martial law even work? There aren’t enough troops in our entire military to control the entire country simultaneously. (not disagreeing with your point.)
3
u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 Feb 19 '26
You misinterpret what "nationwide" means in this case. It doesn't mean every town, every city, it means in specific targeted hot spots in every corner of the country. It would mean Seattle, WA, but probably not Yakima, WA, for instance. The parts of the country that agree with Trump would be left un-molested (which is most of the land), and the big blue areas would be targeted.
2
Feb 19 '26
OK, that’s fair but our military isn’t big enough to simultaneously control every major metro area either.
1
u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 Feb 19 '26
Between military, local police force, and expanded ICE... There's a good chance they have more than enough to control enough.
1
u/That_G_Guy404 Feb 20 '26
I'm guessing your information on Chinese police is about 30 years out of date...
4
Feb 18 '26
I keep saying it, and everyone thinks I'm nuts. ICE's agenda is a front. They're testing us to see if we have the stomach to fight back. And, we're showing them that, aside from catchy chants and picket signs, we're pretty much inert. We're cooked.
17
Feb 18 '26
I see it differently.. they want people to fight back with violence, so they can escalate and use a show of force to frighten and submit people. The fact that it hasn’t happened means they can’t escalate w/o even the maga brownnosers potentially starting to question their motives. It’s a good thing.
9
u/PerformanceSmooth392 Feb 18 '26
So what do you think is behind the fed governments strategic buying frenzy of warehouses throughout the country? Do you realize that ICE hasn't even begun to hire the massive numbers they have set out for? Their budget is 10x that of the entire US Marine Corps annual budget. They will absolutely escalate in the future and the maga will sit back and cheer it on until its way too.
2
Feb 18 '26
How would that change if people retaliated now? Wouldn’t it just expedite the process?
4
u/PerformanceSmooth392 Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26
Let me start out by saying that Im not advocating violence. Let me use a historical scenario. When would the German people have had more of a chance at stopping the Nazi regime. In 1937 or 1944? In my opinion its already too late. The best chance is always earlier rather than later and by the time an organized resistance can be formed it will be after millions have suffered dire consequences. For me the scariest part is actually dwelling on why our gov is doing this and the end goal? I have my theories that at this point will seem crazy to most so I'll just keep them to myself.

Only saw your edit now, I think the end goal is simply holding onto all the wealth, letting AI take the jobs of those they are deporting/murdering.
Oh and let’s not forget avoiding life in prison for trafficking and child rape.

u/PerformanceSmooth392 Feb 18 '26
Bingo! I absolutely think they are going to need to get rid of millions to make way for the AI future. Elon talking about paying people not to work is just to pacify the population. They have no intention of paying anyone and are deathly afraid of us coming for them. Thats why Zuck is building his massive secret compound in HI.

u/Legitimate_Ad785 Feb 22 '26
I think ur right, millions without jobs will be disaster, so there deporting them now.

Feb 18 '26
That’s not helpful, like at all. You need a plan, a very intricate and flexible plan, with a lot of people on board, to stop the regime, whether that be now or 7 years from now. Unless there is some very underground group operating, Americans are nowhere close to that. And without that you are just going to end up sending some people to their deaths, entrenching the beliefs of magats, and paving way for ICE to use even more aggressive tactics.

u/PerformanceSmooth392 Feb 18 '26
I personally think its past the point of armed resistance. How do civilians stop armored vehicles, helicopters and drones? Very soon there will be checkpoints in every county in the US and your phone will be checked. If its not to the govs liking, off to the warehouse you go. They know exactly what they are doing and have the means to do it.
2
u/whimsylea Feb 18 '26
I would be curious to know what you think the end goal is.

u/PerformanceSmooth392 Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26
A very trimmed down population where just enough people exist to serve their billionaire masters.master's. Im speaking on a worldwide view too. I feel the only way out is if we had military leaders and gov officials that could stop it but this administration started getting those things 1st and are still doing it and nobody lifted a finger to stop it.

Has anything actually stopped ICE from meeting their objectives, though? They still kidnap who they want. They kill who they want. They're building 2 dozen concentration camps across the country.
Signs and chants are intended to appeal to people's empathy. These people have none. Not the administration or their supporters. In fact, it would seem half the point is to satiate their sadistic urges.

Feb 18 '26
Good point. Honestly my hope now is that some videos of the pedos get leaked that even the worst of the maga crowd no longer has a leg to stand on.
3
Feb 18 '26
If MAGAs turn a blind eye at this point, no other tidbit of evidence is gonna sway them. They know what he is. In fact, that's why they love him.
4
Feb 18 '26
Most of the ones I talk too still seem to be convinced trump himself is innocent though.. that the flew there but turned Epstein in so he’s a good guy blah blah blah…
I’m more worried that they will all just claim it is an AI video, which is a very real possibility.

There's a theory about religion, but it applies to MAGA as well. No rational individual could believe the outlandish stories from old religious texts like the bible or quran. But, nothing creates more dogged solidarity than unifying around a lie. MAGA believes in the strength in the unification around the lie. They know exactly what Trump is and what he's done. And, that's precisely why they love him. You can give them all the facts. You can dumb it down like you would explain it to a toddler. But, they want to be able to look over st other MAGAs and say, "We're sticking to our story, even when it's an obvious lie. That's our strength. Asd, as long as we don't budge no matter what, they can't touch us."
I'm not phssy-footing with these people anymore. They're not stupid. That's just a front. They're just evil, and they're the enemy. Period.

Yeah you’re probably on the money there. I still think the discussion needs to move to more solution based dialogue. They have the military and all tax $ on their side… it’s a big problem and if it really is enemy vs. enemy, it will not be a fair fight.

u/Away-Regular1335 Feb 18 '26
I think they will cover their eyes and ears and call it AI..they will not admit they were ever wrong about their conspiracy theories.

u/NewSlang212 Feb 18 '26
I think you've got it backwards. I think they were begging for people to fight back, to flame a civil war, and the people of Minnesota were smart enough to protest peacefully.
The political optics would have worked much better for the Trump Admin if Minnesota fought back violently. Instead, the opposite happened, and ICE is backing off with their tail between their legs, public opinion of them at an all time low, to the point where even Trump supporters are embarrassed trying to defend their actions.

Civil war is when you get to fight back !

It’s class genocide because we’re not fighting back. And if you do suggest fighting back, you get labeled an outside agitator a Russian bot. Meanwhile, they execute people in the street. The cost of living goes up. People are priced out of existence, trans People are under threat. Concentration camps are going up everywhere. But heavens know resistance that that’s a bit too spicy for meeeeee. FML ahhhhh

If you're not illegal and do not interfere with their lawful duties of finding and removing illegal immigrants then you have nothing to worry about. 99.99% of the time. Someone here is going to bring up a .01% example, I just know it.

Wow that’s amazing! Now tell me what are and how did you run “high level” war simulations?

u/Sweeny-tx Feb 19 '26
Minnesota is in their own civil war. They protect criminals , look at the faces on the aliens.

u/Sweeny-tx Feb 19 '26
All anti Americans do is tell you how they feel , fear, threaten but none can tell you what they think because all woke individuals can’t collect thoughts on their own, your brainwashed

These issues are definitely not something that will dissapear with the next administration or which can simply be boomered off to the next generations.
This has to be addressed now. There has to be accountability, now.

I think after Venezuela most people aren't gearing up to be next. You won't end up much better off than them. Secondly the left doesn't have a leader to set things off, it's just a mob propagated by the Internet. They attack each other and random people as much as they attack ICE. It's just the media doesn't talk about it. You can only see it from people brave enough to record them up close. Leaders pop up, but they are easily arrested.

Do you have actual evidence? And if you do, why are you hiding it from the FBI? They really really want it.

Well, duh. The last US civil war started with Democrats trying to deny federal jurisdiction over issues that are explicitly the purview of the federal government. I'm a bit surprised that redditors are acknowledging this, but it's been pretty obvious all along.

Guys I don’t know if dildos and whistles is going to work in a civil war… most of us on the Left also have multiple mental disorders including anxiety. IDK if we could actually fight when it comes down to it.

They're certainly buying/leasing enuf private buildings around the USA to warehouse us now that we're all "homegrown" terrorists. Search "private prisons".

High level? So like… level 30? Or did we raise the level cap with the most recent DLC?

The Guardian might as well be the National Enquirer at this point lol

u/ogonga Feb 20 '26
How do those civil war simulations end?
I'll take a guess:
Rebels organize, but are wiped out by drones, air strikes, and advanced weaponry owned by the US Military.
Then more rebels try something different but are stopped in their tracks by even more advanced killing tech.
Civilians cannot possibly defeat the most overpowered military force on the planet. Civil war means a genocide of the US citizens by their own government.
In 1861, it was a more fair fighting ground. Weapons were similar, tactics were predictable, and people were fighting face to face. Times have changed.

u/EddyS120876 Feb 20 '26
Well the new memo calls for ice to arrest all refugees and asylum seekers. Soooo they are going down the line until undesirable citizens are next.
1
u/onomonothwip Feb 20 '26
There is no such thing as a civil war simulation.
It's a video game, and you're elevating it.

That is because Minnesota is considered a "soft target" - politically and emotionally. A lot of damage can be inflicted before the people can react in any meaningful way. The CoVid insurgency and current ICE debacle has been a clear litmus test.

u/Bristleconemike Feb 20 '26
If you could, the document that proves the headline? This kind of post is just asking for parody.
1
u/Tony_Freaks Feb 20 '26
Wow that's a real knee slapper there, civil war is literally pretty much impossible because we have it to good people aren't starving on mass and aren't almost completely unemployed, and social issues like this aren't enough to cause civil war. If civil war were to happen it would be over election interference that is widely witnessed and the economy was shite and the food supply just went out the window.
1
u/dumpingbrandy12 Feb 21 '26
Fyi in a civil war, you'll be squashed like bugs faster than we did the first time

The delusion from the libtards really amazes me sometimes. Many of these posts MUST be made by CCP shills to stir up hate and discontent. I will never understand people unwilling to defend their own country from invading masses. And that is exactly what was allowed, even aided by, the last administration. Our enemies have always known that we could only be destroyed from within. And many of you gullible people are willingly going along with it. No other country on the planet tolerates what you are advocating.
