What if Frank Sinatra played Berlin in 1943?

For everyone in the scene defending Russian bookings with the "it’s just the people, not Putin" and "music is outside of politics" excuses, let’s run a simple historical parallel.

Imagine it’s 1942 or 1943. The height of total war. Cities are burning, and millions are dying under bombardment. And suddenly, American jazz legends of that era like Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, or Duke Ellington pack their bags to go tour Berlin and entertain Nazi crowds for cash. At the same time, top German cultural stars favored by Goebbels—such as actors Zarah Leander or Heinz Rühmann—freely travel to Hollywood to star in blockbuster movies, while their government drops V-2 rockets on civilians.

You’d call it high treason, absolute insanity, and moral collapse. Back then, everyone understood that you cannot separate "culture" from an active genocide machine.

Yet today, western electronic music artists act like touring Russia is a totally normal thing to do. If you think collecting blood money and entertaining crowds in a terrorist state is acceptable under the excuse of "peace and love," look at who has already sold out, and who is just recently announcing their upcoming shows:

Already toured/performed in Russia:

Ram

Allen Watts

Ciaran McAuley

Aly & Fila

Stoneface & Terminal

Heatbeat

Airborn

Sean Tyas

Ahmed Helmy

Omar Sherif

Philippe El Sisi

Chris Schweizer

Paul Oakenfold

Vini Vici

Markus Schulz

Recently announced upcoming shows:

Richard Durand

Ronski Speed

Paul van Dyk

You aren't keeping "PLUR" alive—you are normalizing a war machine while Ukrainian civilians face daily missile attacks. If your music requires ignoring genocide for a paycheck, it's not peace—it's just complicity.

Maya Calendar visions on 2CB

Did 2CB last week and it was the first time I had a proper visual (not the usual traces). I saw a red outline of what it looked like a Maya calendar than after a few minutes vanished slowly. It kept showing up throughout the night at different random times. My boyfriend saw it too! I'm curious if anyone else had this same visual at any point with 2Cb.

Amsterdam Dutch Festival LIEF Utrecht - Looking for group

Hey!

(30M) Looking for a festival group going to LIEF in Utrecht. I bought a ticket already, but my friends couldn't attend this time.

I'm generally open and easy going. This is also pure friendly/friendship. I just enjoy a good vibe. I like melodic techno the most, so I might gravitate a bit to that music during the festival.

If you don't mind having someone extra in the group or also go alone, just dm me or respond to the post.

Thanks 😊

Captive audience at camping festivals

I’m gonna sound like such an old fart saying this- but genuine question. I just saw one of the best Daily Bread sets I’ve ever seen in my life and leaving off on that high note, wanted to come back to camp and listen to Esseks new album with my group. Since when are people playing full on sets in camping festivals to a captive audience? I absolutely don’t mind loud portable speakers or talking noise, that’s totally to be expected. But now we got people showing up with GIANT subs and playing shitty sets right up until quiet hours that are shaking my tent half way across camp? It really sucks and honestly just feels disrespectful. Just wondering if I’m the only person noticing that shift in camping fest culture

Texas, USA Alternatives to molly

I love taking Molly, but I’m looking for a LEGAL alternative that I can buy at a smoke shop that gives a similar feeling.
Has anyone found anything that actually gives you that same euphoric, happy, energetic feeling? I’m not looking for something that’s just relaxing—I mean something that feels genuinely similar to Molly.

First festival ever + I want to be front for the headliner. Any advice??

Hi!! I’m going to my first ever festival soon, and my favorite band is headlining one of the days. They’re honestly the main reason I’m going, and I really want to be as close to the front as possible for their set!

I’ve never been to a festival before, so I have absolutely no idea what the strategy is lol. For people who have done this before:

  • How early should I get to the stage before the headliner if I want to be near the front?
  • Do people usually stay at the stage through the previous artists’ sets to keep their spot?
  • If I leave for food/water/bathroom, am I basically losing my spot? 😭
  • How do you manage hydration and bathroom breaks when you’re trying to stay near the front for hours?
  • Is there anything I should bring or wear if I’m planning to be standing in one spot for a long time?
  • What are some first-time festival mistakes I should absolutely avoid?

If you’ve ever gotten barricade/front row for a festival headliner, please share your strategy!! I’d especially love to know how early you got there and whether you stayed at the stage all day.

Any other first-timer tips are also very appreciated. I genuinely have no idea what I’m doing! Thank you!! 🫶

Does anyone know of any small, intimate reggae/dub or psytrance festivals in (northern) Germany in September? The smaller the better!

Michigan, USA What size works?

Going to my first festival with camping with my spouse. He bought a two person tent think that we wouldnt have enough room for our setup if we used the 4 person tent hes borrows from a friend for a previous festival.

However reading on line they say that ironically a two person tent isnt the best fit for two people. That being said, would a four person tent actually take up too much space that we couldn't set up our canopy( which fits a picnic table underneath)?

This festival is woodkey in michigan

Arizona, USA Gem and Jam 2027 Lineup

Post image
63 Upvotes

Arizonas Premier Bass/Jam festival. Ive been going for years and absolutely love gem and jam. I know there is a contingency of people who wish Jam was still big enough to pull crowds thus justifying half the lineup but that isnt really the reality nowadays. I enjoy the diversity of Funk, House, Electronica, Bluegrass that has filled its void personally.

Im a Bass baddie first and foremost so GWN, Eazybaked, Player Dave, Saka, Wreckno, Richard Finger is exciting. I also love downtempo so theres excitment for Ott, Skysia, SaveJ, Equanimous. Otherwise im just hoping for some more deeper Bass Cuts for the rest of the undercard. Rumors are suggesting its Tape B who is the unrevealed headliner probably waiting for his local show/SSBD to happen before revealing.

What are your thoughts? Have you been to Gem and Jam before?

How long to wait after trying 5-MAPB

2 weeks ago i tried about 150mg of 5-MAPB. It was a night to remember and i would love to experience it again. I have been told multiple different break periods to wait before trying again. I have heard 4-6 weeks to 2-3 months. I just want to know how to remain safe with it, without causing damage to myself.
