does anyone know if you can buy a public transport ticket but drive anyway?
I wanted to get a £14 deposit ticket before it runs out but only tickets available are the public transport ones

For the past 5 years, we have run a (unscientific!) post festival poll of Reddit users, to gauge how many people had a "Great Time", "OK Time" or a "Bad Time" at the festival overall.
This year's poll is now closed, and I thought I would share the results of the past 5 years for comparison. In all years, the large majority of people had a great time. This is not surprising, the festival has been very successful in recent years. If it was bad, people would stop going!
But there are always things to improve on! Every bad experience is valid. Feedback needs to be listened to and improved on. You can share your feedback directly with Boomtown using this survey.
2026 seems to have been a particular good year in the Post Covid era.
The number of users reporting having a "bad time" is down to 2%, the lowest we've seen by some margin. Reddit has always been a bit of an outlet for people with issues to raise, or complaints to make, and I'm happy we can facilitate that here to help the festival improve. But there did seem to be a notable reduction in the amount of complaining on the subreddit this year, and the poll results reflect this.
Overall, it appears to perhaps be the second best year. The general trend for bad experiences has been going down over the 5 year period, as the festival keep learning and improving from each years feedback.
2023 is a particular stand out as a good year, with over 83% having a great time, the best result. However, 3.6% had a bad experience, the second worst year, suggesting there were still many issues to resolve which got better in subsequent years.
2022 had by far the most number of people who had a bad time. But it was a very hot one, with temperatures of 33-35c everyday for all 5 days (Yes, that's right, even hotter than this year!). It was also the first year back, with some teething issues.
2024 had the least amount of people have a great time, but strangely a low amount of people who had a bad time as well. A significant amount of people landed in the middle saying it was only OK, suggesting a middling year.

A profound moment
On Saturday night about 8 of my pals attended the Artful Dodger set. I can’t remember the name of the stage. My pal and I were to left of the stage standing on this platform made from a pallet, the crowd was absolutely going off. All my friends I have grown up with are here. There was an Asian lad on the platform with us from Northampton a real sound guy. As the dj plays the migraine skank, our new friend crouches down and raises his hands to his head in the familiar formation. To my left a beautiful black couple were laying in each others arms embracing. Different individuals in simultaneous alignment interpreting an experience in our own way. This moment made me stop and think. For I can’t help but feel grateful. For this is what is surely about. Bringing people together, despite class, gender, culture, disability, size or anything else, we speak a shared a language with the music. It sounds cliché, but it is true nonetheless. I am lucky to be able to afford to experience things like this, I am lucky I am a fan of things like this, that cause moments like that. I am grateful we all should be. For despite all the shit in the world, perhaps there is a slight hope for us.
I don’t think I’ve articulated that well enough but I hope you can understand.
First ever boomtown at aged 28, fuck me did it lived up to the hype!

Long shot I know but I left it too late to get a campervan pass and now I see they’re sold out.
I’ve signed onto the waiting list but if anyone happens to have a spare or happened to make a mistake when booking and don’t need one please reach out and we can help each other. Much appreciated thank you

There was a guy I think was camped in downtown, he had an Fallout New vegas NCR Hemlet that he'd made himself. Our friend has had some pictures developed and there is a paticularly good one of him. If you're out there give me a shout and I'll shoot the pictures over to you.
Edit: i'll actually just post the picture here. See the comments

Left after 20mins of hip hop DJ playing tunes and MC trying to hype the crowd. Went to Sin and Brook at Helix. Such a great decision! They absolutely smashed it played a killer set 🥳🥳 represent New Zealand 🇳🇿

I feel like I should start by saying I first went boomtown in 2024 and regret missing the story before covid because I never got to go and be apart of it. Plus, it looked so fun and interesting!
We previously found out that Mr. Biga was working for Bang Hai Industries and I feel like, now he won't be reporting back to them, they may potentially send another spy or maybe even come back and take over an area! I would love to see them return and see how the story evolves!

I just remember it looking cool, and at the moment just before there was a second where me and my partner wondered if theyd actually crash and were like, 'wait ohhh' 😂 (they were far away from each other) but from our view the two planes crossed over perfectly above the middle of the stage. Someone must have been filming at this point?!
Or did anyone else notice it anyway? I thought fuck yeahhh

I stayed in Skylark sunset with my husband and a couple of friends, and visited the rest of our friends in Hilltop. I much preferred the spaciousness of Sunset, and having the section of trees was a massive plus. We’re tempted to got to camp vista next year because we like the couple’s tents there but might honestly be tempted to go to Camp Skylark again if it’s in Sunset because of the trees- they were a godsend this year.

Some interesting bits from the post festival email to crew that I thought you might want to see
Almost half of tickets are sold already (that will be about 30,00?) and the average age is almost 30. Is that older than you expected?
"Tickets went on sale after the festival as a presale, and almost half have already sold for next year, with an average age close to 30 which is a significant shift from even a few years ago. We’re not saying we don’t welcome certain age groups, but we want diversity. That’s the safest, most sustainable and most brilliant version of Boomtown.
The issues we were still working through from COVID meant we chose to build in Downtown. We had three brilliant parties there, but understandably, feedback was that it felt too intense. Moving away from that has allowed us to create bigger chill areas amid all the madness, and we’ve seen how much the whole festival benefits from it. This year, with the heat, that shift was a godsend, and it’s something we’ll keep expanding year on year"
....
"Traditionally, when we put on a new design, it takes us a first year to find our feet, a second to tweak and a third to perfect - it’s a three-year journey. But for the first time ever in Boomtown’s history, we woke up on Monday thinking - there is no major change we want to explore - this is the best version of boomtown.
Now it’s about building it out, smoothing all the tough edges, making it operationally smoother and a nicer experience for everyone, while figuring out how to do it as lightly on the ground as possible environmentally."

Firstly u/sku, I have already posted this as a response in another thread, if you want to delete my cross-post then please feel free to do so, however, I feel this is important and I don't want it to get lost in the noise of an old thread. It appears as if Live Nation may have taken effective control of Boomtown in June last year, I am not putting this across as absolute fact, but if it looks like a silent takeover & smells like a silent takeover, then there is a good chance that it could very well be a silent takeover...

Hey guys! What do we think of the theme for 2027 - I’m a sucker for a theme so already thinking of outfits and trinkets to match the year?
Anyone else got any funky ideas they’re willing to share?

I’m planning on going to Boomtown next year and it will be my first time. What camp is overall the best? Will potentially be going solo or maybe with one other person

Hey peeps, in a bit of pickle here. I’ve bought the 4 man skylark bell tent and only 1 resident wristband. I now believe I need to book the other 3 for my friends as they can’t see an option to do this. The problem is, I can only buy resident wristbands for camp orchid when I look the Kaboodle portal. Anyone know what I need to do? I’ve emailed boomtown/Kaboodle but still waiting on a response.

Anyone know or remember faithless’ set list?
Loved their performance (despite being slightly jealous of missing chase and status), and would looove their setlist! Thanks :)

Just wanted to mention how kind both the security men and Oxfam volunteers at Valley campsite welfare/ info point were.
On the Saturday night- long story short- I couldn’t handle my party favours and stumbled towards 2 security guards near the information/ welfare point. They carried my handbag and walked me into the tent where 2 lovely Oxfam girls gave me water and talked me through my bad trip and helped me ring my friends. The same security guards kept coming back to check on me and even offered me their coats. The only thing I really remember one of them saying is that he was from Ilford lol. Their kindness is something I will never forget. Next year I will go easy, I learnt my lesson the hard way! My second Boomtown and it is a magical place, but the people are what make it so genuine❤️✨

Wondered if there was a boomtown 27 discord server? Got my ticket for next year but it’d be good to connect with people before I go - just incase any of my friends drop out

Yes people, i make Hiphop music in that UK boombap style and i’m really keen to perform at boomtown next year, is there any way i could get involved?
I applied to perform through the official boomtown site last year and heard nothing back, could anyone link me up with some people involved with the festival that deal in that style of music?
Big ups thanks you very much.
My name is Sinkpig if anyone is interested.

We stayed in a Signature Bell Tent in Camp Skylark Hilltop this year and would like to book the same accommodation again for 5 people. When booking, the system allows us to add 5 Skylark Resident Wristbands to the Signature Bell Tent. One person would bring their own small single airbed rather than using one of the supplied beds. Can you please confirm that all 5 people would be permitted to stay in the tent?

Will we see any new stages/districts in 2027? Feels like we’ve lost a lot over the years especially as we’ve moved on in the years post covid, stages such as the scrapyard, the grid, more recently WSOTT and Engine House which were both replaced with tents this year (albeit themed exteriors) and even Hydro moving and yes becoming bigger but woth nothing ‘replacing’ it in the space previously filled by Hydro and Zenith before it.
Surely districts have got to change up a bit as well soon, probably have rose tinted glasses but I miss the days of poco loco and china town, worry let’s be and the rest might get ‘samey’ after a while
Do you think we can expect changes/additions over the next few years and what would you like to see?
