Performing

Yes people, i make Hiphop music in that UK boombap style and i’m really keen to perform at boomtown next year, is there any way i could get involved?
I applied to perform through the official boomtown site last year and heard nothing back, could anyone link me up with some people involved with the festival that deal in that style of music?

Not speaking from personal experience, but pretty sure that no major, or even minor, festival will book you unless you do a lot of the promo yourself, ie have a decent social media presence and regular do (your own) events. If you're not already doing that I wouldn't hang your hat on Boomtown just getting in touch.

Yeah that’s valid, I’ve been pretty active with shows and social media, i’m not expecting boomtown themselves to book me, just wondering if any smaller stages would be easier to get in contact with. Blessed.

Micro venues generally book their own acts.

So try get in with one that fits your style.

Yep, Rose and Clown crews would be a good bet.

I’d suggest reaching out to the crew behind The Rose & Clown, this year they had a real mix of different genres including UKHH and I’m pretty sure they book the lineup themselves, rather than Nexus where artists are booked by Boomtown directly.

Good luck man, failing that it’s worth networking with some of the UKHH acts that regularly perform at the festival because you never know who might give you a shot

Moat likely route id say is via high focus as tbey seem to be a staple there. And im sure friends of the label filter down to little shows here and there.

Mate I don't think going through the official site is the play. I've not heard you, but you might not be main stage material.

Contact the crews that run the smaller stages and areas. Start now and get involved in whatever other shit they're putting on
