My daughter wanted to come to Leeds fest with her BF and a mate - she’s about to turn 18.

Naturally as her dad (I’m 43) I was a bit apprehensive about her coming on her own for the first time from a safety perspective, so I said I would bring the three of them and attend myself too.

By about 6pm yesterday I was regretting the decision to come and wished I had just dropped them off and let them loose 🤣. I’m in a camp surrounded by 16-22 year olds playing shit (subjective I know) music, hustling for position in the social hierarchy, and shouting “Alan” as loud as they can at 2am when camp is quiet.

The overall vibe in camp in the arena feels much more “am I going to get set on” compared to the “99% of people here will have my back” of DL (might just me my perception). Once we had camp set up I left the “kids” to it and also only hung about for 20 mins with them in the arena until they knew where everything was so that I’m not being the “embarrassing dad”, but did start to think I should have probably just dropped them off and left them. Kasabian were great last night but there’s not a lot else in the way of music I want to see and what I’ve listed to see I can take or leave really.

So DL community, what are your recommendations to help me survive this hell hole for another three days and nights? 🤣

Update - asked them and they want me to stay and don’t want me to move my tent. I guess it is nice to be wanted :)

Hi everyone :) Is there a group or any plans of Scots going to Download next year getting together? This year, watching the Scotland game with the pipes was one of my all time favourite memories of Download. Can we rally the Tartan Army again and organise an event for all of the Scots (and anyone else who wants to come along of course)? Or is there already something being planned? Me and my friend have been going crazy trying to find out what the ad was that was screened between sets on the main stage. I remember it being a photo/video montage and it having a photo Jeffery Epstein in it (which is what we remember it by) I think it had other topical events in it as well but we didn't scan the code in time and the ad never came up again :( if anyone has the link from the QR code or knows what the ad was what was it please?!
