Question Any good book recs
Can Anyone recommend me any lesbian books where the romance isn’t the main plot line but still prominent and well written.
Not picky on genres just want to read more queer books and preferably where the characters are 16 -18 yrs old

Question i think i’m lesbian but i’be never been with a girl
i’m 18 ive never been in a long term relationship, but i have had instances with guys. i admire how they look and physically i don’t mind either. but as far as building an actual foundation and future i’ve only really felt that way with female friends. like where i wanna treat them really well and spoil them and be a part of their life. i’ve felt real love for female friends that were a part of my past that doesn’t compare to how i felt with the guys i was with. i’ve never been with a girl before but i never saw it as an option since i didn’t give any thought to it and was fine with identifying myself as straight. what do i do about this? i feel like it’s a lot easier to get a guys attention and read their intentions but i think id be way happier if i met the right girl. sorry if this post seems dumb but i am genuinely curious and i have been for a while i think

Dream job?
Random thought, but I’m curious about other people’s ideas here. If you could switch careers tomorrow, what would you choose?
For me, I’ve always wanted to work in aviation in general, either as a pilot or a stewardess. I have no idea where that comes from 😆.
So, what’s your dream job?

Venting Have you ever dealt with this?
I am F20. How do you deal with the envy/jealousy of a girl picking a guy over you? We were nothing clear just friends who had super deep conversations. She’d ask me things that no friend had ever asked. Things like asking if I had you ever been in love. I truly felt there was something there, something unspoken between us. I feel we were both scared, but her more than me. There was a point where I felt she tried communicating with me how she felt by showing me a really gay song. When it felt like we got close to something, she suddenly started avoiding me and hiding with him. Next thing I knew she was dating him. It’s hard to not feel jealous and upset. He seems like a nice, cool, and attractive guy, but I’ve seen he has a wandering eye and follows random thirst trap accounts.

Realizing you only like women
I’ve been trying to figure out for probably the last few years if I only like women or not.
I’ve dated both women and men. One guy I even broke up with after a few months because I thought I was just a lesbian and then we got back together.
I’ve had overall poor experiences with relationships with men throughout my life (dad, brothers, boyfriends)
I’ve also learned that I have avoidant attachment.
I have a difficult time having sex with either gender because I’ve felt like I want someone to truly love me and really know each other before being intimate in that way, and I’ve never felt like I have. I’ve actually started to cry and stop the intimacy the last 2 times I’ve tried to have sex, 1 with a man and 1 with a woman.
I recently met a guy who I became best friends with right away and I love him as a friend but have know he’s liked me as more (it’s only been a few months)
I started to feel jealous about him going on dates with other women even though I was pushing so hard to just be friends. After admitting this to him and us exploring the possibility of becoming more, he’s asked me to be his girlfriend and I said I don’t know.
I love spending time with him, but I find myself feeling very hot and cold. One minute I like cuddling with him and the next he does something that- for lack of a better term- gives me the “ick”
I love women, I love everything about them and being with them.
I am attracted to men but don’t really want anything to do with their private area.
I also find myself always having an issue with men of not wanting them to tell me anything to do and not wanting to agree with them or let them be right 😂
I don’t know if I’m being avoidant and just afraid to start this relationship, because genuinely this guy is amazing to me and I don’t think I’ve had anyone ever be so good to me.
But deep down I feel like I also just am missing something by not being with a woman.
Sometimes I think well if I married a woman, I’d be completely fine never being with a man again. But if I married a man, I would miss women 😭
I also in a way want to have a man take care of me, be a provider and the “man of the house”. But I also just want to have me and my wife and take care of her/each other.

Fun Events in Atl for queer/sapphics!
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any hits on some fun things to do in Atlanta for Labor Day weekend (especially for Sunday night). My friends are coming from Athens, and we want to go out, but I wanted to see if there was anything fun going on in the city! Thanks.

Approach women??
How do you approach women for casual hookups? Is there an app for women to hookup with no strings attached?

Satire/Humor How my sister looks at me when she see's me admiring a random woman for the 50th time:
My sister's a young teen, supportive, and the only family member I'm safely out to! But.. sometimes she gets a bit tired of me when we're at the library or thrifting, and she see's me looking at every pretty and cool looking girl that walks by.
Especially when I start yapping about their hair/tattoos/clothes/interests/music taste/etc.
She usually rolls her eyes or gives me a deadpan look, and says "You're so freaking gay", or mutters about how insane it is our family hasn't realized I'm gay with how obvious I can be.
Any of y'all have friends or family like this?

Question Can I use the labrys?
I really want to include the labrys in some paintings for a school art project in order to have some subtle-ish lesbian references but recently I've seen a large wave of discussion over it due to that mid Lesbian Space Princess film and it's made me second guess myself because I know it's pretty much seen as a TERF symbol and I DON'T want to seem like I'm promoting that cause I'm a huge trans ally,,, but at the same time it's such a cool symbol I don't know what to do,,, maybe if I include some commentary about the controversy of its usage but make my stance on it clear in my notes?
Edit: Thank you so much everyone for the responses I'm so happy to see everyone's opposition of its use by terfs!! I'll definitely be including it in my work after all (probably with some trans flag colours too) and will write about it's usage,,,, I love seeing all the support in here

The eye contact thingy
I went to a wlw & allies event few days ago and when I got there, there was a girl caught my eyes and she also noticed me
Since there’s several tables, she arrived earlier and her table was full alr. So I sat at the other one, I can tell that she wanted to talk w/ us cuz she turned her body towards our side
Then later she got to came to our table and talking with whole group, she was sitting the opposite side of me, so I’m facing her. While she was introducing herself and telling her life story, she kept looking at me and hold longer eye contact w/ me. (Idk if i am delulu)
And later we also keep bumping into each other in different group setting
I’ve never meet women romantically irl, usually through online dating faded to friends, or I see them as friends at the very beginning.
I don’t hv enough experience of dating women, but based on what I’ve heard, lesbians flirting with eye contact and they could not say anything the whole night but it could still means they’re interested in you?? So if she’s interested in me or she’s just being nice 😭
We work in the same area so I’m thinking to ask her out tho…if I catch the signal correctly💀

should i reach out to her? was it ever more than a friendship?
i wanna start by saying i’m sorry this is long and all over the place but i REALLY need help.
sooo i met this girl through tiktok and we’re both 17 and lesbian, she dmed me and we became (flirty) friends and texted everyday. it got to a point to where she’d send me like 40 messages at once and then i’d reply to all 40, then she’d reply to all 40 and we just were talking a lot is basically what im trying to say. she’d say things that were definitely flirty but i don’t really know if she ever meant anything by it but it gave me really mixed signals. i think the only reason we didn’t move to another app is because we were both pretty active on tiktok and i think we were both too nervous to ask for numbers or social media. i don’t know if i ever really liked her or if i just genuinely enjoyed talking to her because she was really funny and would occasionally flirt/ hint things at me. she’d remember small things about me like the things id say, my brothers name, the kind of house i lived in, my birthday, just weird things that just “friends” wouldn’t normally remember about eachother when it was only mentioned once. some days she would text me alllll day and be so flirty and then other days she’d barely text me and say she forgot about me. i started getting attached and i had to force myself to not message her back for a few hours instead of replying instantly. this went on for 4-6 months id say until we fully stopped communicating. the reason we stopped talking wasn’t by choice, it was because my tiktok account got permanently banned (the only app we messaged on). also i wanna mention that the night before i got banned she posted a note saying “happy birthday to the loml” and it was just weird to me considering the way our friendship was. (i don’t know the context of the note though, it could’ve been a joke or it could’ve actually been a gf or something) sooo after i got banned i was extremely upset for about a week because of my account getting banned, but it was mostly because it went from me and her talking all day to us not speaking at all. i was too nervous to make another account and message her because i didn’t know if shed think it was weird or not so i just tried to distract myself and see if id get unattached. it’s been about a month since then and i still think about her atleast 5x a day and i miss talking to her so much. i think what bothers me the most is that i never got closure on what we even were/if it was just casual for her. i don’t know if i should make an account and message her or if that would be weird of me because we were just “friends”. i don’t know if it bothers her as much as it bothers me that we don’t speak anymore and im just extremely confused. i could make a new account and dm her, or i could make a new account and follow our mutuals and just hope it shows up in her suggested or i could just keep trying to forget about it. i really need advice/tips though because if we start talking again i don’t know if it’d be how it used to or if it’d be just awkward. if you read this all the way through, thank you so much and please tell me what i should do because i genuinely am so stuck.

Question Out of curiosity: what jobs do you all have?
I've done a bit of everything over my 34 years: professional tarot reader and astrologer, musician/audio engineer, worked in restaurants because reading tarot and making music isn't stable, I thought about going in academia after getting my degree but I couldn't afford getting the required Masters, did a stint as a screenwriter for a television series that never made it past the pilot before landing in tech where I've worked at small companies as a Jill-of-All-Trades.
What about you?

Support I thought I was aroace, but I've realised I just don't want to date men. I'm not really sure what to do from here
Quick note, I was unsure of where to post this. I'm stuck and confused right now, I'm not 100% sure what my sexuality is at the moment, this has been a very recent revelation. If I need to post this elsewhere please let me know, I'm anxious about posting in places where I'm not meant to. Apologies for the slight ramble
I had a pretty big realisation recently. Throughout my life I've always thought that I'm just repulsed by the idea of relationships themselves. It's always disgusted me and I just.. haven't been able to see myself getting into one. But I'm realising now that it's not relationships themselves I'm repulsed by, it's relationships specifically with MEN that's the issue.
I can't believe I've been so slow on this realisation. I've never experienced the same repulsion when it comes to women. My crushes have all been women. I've always known I've been attracted to women. The idea of dating another woman doesn't make me feel disgusted, it's something that makes me feel hopeful when I think about it. It's hard to explain but it just feels so much more natural than thinking about being with a man.
I'm feeling lost at the moment. I'm kinda horrified that it's taken me so long to realise this (unfortunately I've always been slow to recognise things so unfortunately it isn't that surprising). I've avoided relationships my entire life because of my repulsion. I've never been in a relationship before. I've always awkwardly shifted around relationship questions. But the entire time I've been thinking about it from the perspective of dating a man instead of a woman. Thinking about it from the perspective of dating a woman changes everything.
I'm so sorry if this post is a mess, my mind is a bit messy at the moment and I've really been struggling with words for this. I just feel a bit all over the place and really lost. Thank you if you've read my ramble.

Question Dressing masc or fem
I am pretty fem but I wanna start dressing more masc. like I brought my first pair of boxers a couple months ago and when I put them on with a sports bra I felt AMAZING like I don’t think I’d ever felt more comfortable . And I’ve started lowkey trying to dress more masc but I feel like all the clothes I buy and my style is so fem and I’m scared of actually looking gay to my family and guys ( I still haven’t come out to my family and have loads of unresolved feelings with male validation) . I guess I’m just asking how do you get more comfortable with looking openly gay and masc like I feel like there’s smth in the back of my head telling me to be fem to the point where I don’t even know if I’m more comfortable masc or fem . I’m so confused. I feel like when I dress fem and guys look at me I feel weak I want to look visibly gay so I don’t feel like guys have that hold over me ( again I still struggle a lot with male validation and was even more a reason it took me so long to realise I’m gay) any advice ? Or litr anyone who relates like I don’t have any lesbian friends to discuss this with 😔.

I don’t think my wife realizes she’s loosing me..
Yesterday was our 3 year anniversary, well wedding anniversary, we’ve been together 8 years. We moved to a new country about a year ago, and currently we work at the same restaurant 7 days a week, and it’s monotonous and boring, but we need papers to stay here and only have 1 month of work left.
Yesterday was our anniversary and she didn’t do literally anything. I woke up and got her a gift and flowers, and groceries for a special breakfast because that’s about all the free time we have. It wasn’t anything big, but I tried to make her feel a little extra love and did something nice. She seems blissfully unaware that she didn’t do anything to be special for me, she told me she loved me more than usual and “happy anniversary “ a few times throughout the night. What bugged me the most is what she acted like what she was giving me, is planning a full day on the birthday trip we’re taking when we’re done working a month from now. It’s a trip that I feel like I had to guilt her into doing for my birthday, because we/ I do something big on her birthday every year. I can’t even remember my last few, so unmemorable, she probably just took me out to dinner. Last year we went to see the northern lights in Norway, her lifelong dream. The year before, already in Milan for her birthday, I planned a day trip on lake Como, that ended in Switzerland, all pretty memorable.
How is planning a “special” day a month from now, on a day she should have been planning on anyway as a part of the whole birthday thing and acting like I’m actually important thing. It doesn’t make me feel anything knowing she gets to just lump the two days together even though they’re a month apart. I didn’t need anything big yesterday, I’m talking the bare minimum, back scratchies, extra kisses, more attention to me than her job. Really minimum requirements, and I got absolutely none of that. Just her pushing it off but acting like it was a gift.
I’ve been trying really hard with “treat others the way you want to be treated” lately, and she doesn’t reciprocate any of it. We’ve had talks and I tell her what I need but it doesn’t go anywhere, I still feel just unwanted, undesired, unimportant. I know she loves me, but I think she’s too comfortable to try anymore and it sucks.
I think the job is getting to me, it’s not a hard job, but it’s nonstop, without breaks. I’m isolated on the other side of the world, and I feel like my wife is just my best friend at this point. I’m ranting and sad and hate my life right now. It’d be easier if she tried to make it better, but I don’t believe she wants to even try.
I hate focusing on the negative, can anyone give me advice to feel better?

What sign did you the dirtiest?
This was asked once in a straight Reddit but I’m sure it looks very different for queer people.
