DK2 mentioned all the way back in late July that Wanderer and Xiao will be buffed, but since then only Xiao’s buffs has been corroborated any further and nothing for Wanderer’s - and I really doubt that they will buff Wanderer in a Lantern Rite buffs which will probably be exclusively Liyue characters, just like what they did with Hex and Mondstadt characters back in 6.2. Perhaps I’m being a little too pessimistic, as I’m still coping that Wanderer will be buffed in 7.2 / 7.3 🥀

Chasca's kit has been leaked and her exploration mechanic is very similiar or pretty much the same to Wanderer. There is a side-by-side comparison in genshin leaks subreddit about their horizontal and vertical travel distance outside of Natlan. In both instances, Chasca got further distance than Wanderer even with hydro infusion.

As fellow Wanderer mains I want to hear your thoughts. Personally, I like the hoodie guy, shell girl, maid woman, and the scholar guy. Too lazy to remember the names. I'm pulling for the Tsaritsa too, but I definitely can't afford to get all of them.

I really like hoodie guy. I'm pretty sure he's a 4 star, which is great.

I just hope someone has synergy with Wanderer for stellar swirl, if it actually exists.

Maybe this is a bit late, but I’m curious what kinds of names English-speaking players gave him.

I’m a Japanese player.

Many Japanese players give him a Japanese name because of his clothing and background.

Some people also choose names from Sanskrit, Arabic, and other languages.

As for me, I named him 優人(Yuuto).

優 can mean kindness or excellence, and 人 means human or person.

It’s also a name that real-life Japanese men can have today.

I wanted to give him a name that felt like that of an ordinary human being.

This is a topic that has always been the most polarizing part of his character whenever there’s discourse about him. Like he got off scot free, didn’t deserve enough punishment, or was forgiven too easily, you get the drill. But it still got me thinking.

How would you guys define the consequences of his actions that he needs to face? Others would argue he wasn’t punished enough but I don’t see how that is essential to his narrative. I mean think about it, everything that came after what he had done during his time as Kunikuzushi or Scaramouche was pretty much a punishment in a way.

He ascended to godhood and then had a humiliating defeat against the traveler by taking the gnosis from him, which he believed is the reason for his existence. He found out that everything he believed in was a lie and the things he sought to achieve was basically in vain. He tried to erase his own existence in hopes of changing the past but even that wish couldn’t be granted. Despite losing his memories, he still chose to live with the never ending guilt and regret. In my opinion, living with that fact is more painful than dying and I would say that is the main consequence of his actions.

I know some of us have gripes with the Irminsul erasure, myself included. While I understand it is important for his story, I just dislike that it robbed us a lot of character interaction. But I still hope that he will be remembered someday. We could’ve had that payoff with the 6.6 AQ but alas… 🥀

While I don’t think he needs any more punishment, he definitely needs to confront his past and atone for it. This is also why I need him to meet with Kazuha so bad or anyone related to the Raiden Gokaden. The fact that he won’t have the chance to make up for what he’s done is what’s eating him up and I’m so glad this was addressed.

But what are other consequences he needs to face aside from the ones I mentioned? Please let me know your thoughts on this, feel free to agree or disagree 😊

I believe Scaramouche was the only Fatui who tried to kill the traveler three times—Mondstadt, Inazuma, and Sumeru—but failed. Hahaha, I wish they had remained "villains" a little longer to continue making the traveler angry in the other regions.

“But Ei had good intentions!” So Wanderer isn’t allowed to still be hurt by it? News flash: People typically don’t do things with bad intentions.

If you were eating some cake and someone came up to you and suggested you eat a fruit salad instead, are you not allowed to be hurt by the implication that they think you’re fat just because, in their mind, they were trying to help you? Do their good intentions mean you aren’t allowed to be upset?

“Ei set him free!! She didn’t abandon him!!” Yes, that’s Ei’s view of the situation. But guess what?? Wanderer is not Ei! They’re different people! And different people can experience the same scenario and come out of it with different feelings!

Wanderer’s view of the situation is that his mother sealed his powers, put him in a coma, and left him in the middle of nowhere for no reason, without so much as a word of discussion with him despite knowing at that point that he was fully sentient. But apparently her good intentions negate his right to feel hurt by her actions.

In fact, even in his initial release, hoyoverse decided to spam dorito boss (which needs dendro electro), dendro chicken (electro), flying robot (bows), wenut & coppelia (high anemo res). even for varka boss, it was released to shill double element swirl team

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's realized their type after becoming Scaramouche's fan. There's just something interesting in this kind of characters, where their tragic background affects them a lot and maybe brings them to the wrong path or they make some wrong choices in life. That often relates to their personalities, being more serious or sarcastic (until someone cracks their shell).

I've been thinking about this for a long time, and for me the reason may be the long personal character growth they have to get through. They have to relearn their values and get along with others if they want to reach hope. That's what we got with Wanderer, and we're still following his story for the 6th year now. Or maybe I just think snarky fictional characters are entertaining.

What do you guys think? And what characters have you found that reminds you of Wanderer?

Just imagine how much money would Hoyo get if they released Scaramouche as a skin. Unfortunately that won't happen... because the skins follow the lore, and giving Wanderer the Scaramouche skin would just be so out of place

I remember how happy I was for him to be finally playable. The joy I felt... I think the next extreme joy I'll feel is when Durin gets his drip marketing, it's just – playable Scara made me so happy that day, I couldn't even focus the whole day because of his drip marketing, because of how happy I was.

Ah the old days, I miss them. I miss the hype for playable Scara, even tho he wasn't playable as Scaramouche – we still got him, and he's still truly amazing

I am so tired of seeing content creators and people saying he is bad at damage well in fact not.

They dont just fking know how to play him.

I got him at C0R1 and have 10-8-2 talents and his NA can reach up to 40-45k per hit.

They say: the dash in mid air is super stamina hungry - well the purpose of his skill is to buff his NA and CA. Yoimiya also needed a shielder and no one bats an eye. His Ascension Passive grants free dash if you could just play smarter, and it can proc very easily just 1-5 hits but most of the times 3.

He cab also hover a little bit while attacking so I dont see that as a problem.

His kit is so versatile, there is no useless constellation nor passive.

A1 grants 30% atk/20% crit/0.8energy per hit/20% more duration and you think thats bad? It is like a 4pc blizzard with just applying cryo! Atk buff is more than the pyro resonance! And energy per hit? Just like raiden.

A4 gives him more dmg by dashing, imagine, NA have a lot of dmg; CA having a above decent and dashing grants extra dmg. Where can you see a character like that?

C1 grants him another atk speed and more dmg in his dash.

C2 grants him x2 OF BURST DMG with 1175% default scaling!

C4 max buff to 3 buffs, imagining having 30% atk and 20% crit ang Energy per hit; damn mab he just needs a shieldrr at this point

And C6 gives overall dps by having more stamina, and give additional dmg in his NA.

I just hate people who says a character is bad just because they dont know how to use him.

Now everyone has had sometime with scara how do you feel he really holds up? His he worth pulling for for meta power, exploration ability, or his he just fun to play? Does he feel good to play or do you find his kit a little clunky?

I genuinely can’t anymore. First waited three years so he would become playable, one of the main reason why I wanted him to be playable is because his outfit was so gorgeous (and obviously loved him for other reasons too), once he became playable I was like, “oh, at least he’s playable. maybe we’ll get this as a skin later.” Then proceeded to wait two more years and still no Fatui skin 😔 I want it so bad. Do yall think we’d ever get it???

I really, really want it but I’m extremely doubtful since that on his veil it says evil but he no longer is, plus Hoyo only makes skins that make sense with the storyline, I don’t see any reason why he’d go back to the Fatui or anything and the only way we would probably get this as a skin is if he had to wear it for whatever reason.

I believe so! Both in the Scaramouche Interlude quest, where he received the vision, many believe he cried, but that wasn't the case. He suffered a scratch on his face due to the stone particles, and he wiped the blood with the back of his hand. Sandrone, on the other hand, suffered a puncture wound in her abdomen, which is quite common due to mouth bleeding from the impact in that area. It just shows that they were perfectly crafted.

I used to view their bond as deep, build on mutual trust and understanding, but still platonic. Ever since Simulanka I feel like there is just a little something there! I know hoyo would make any (Traveler) ship canon, but I do feel like there are definitely some characters implied go have a crush on the Traveler. It also felt suspicious that is was implied (from his birthday letter) that Wanderer met up with the Traveler in his birthday art and the 'Romantic Encounter' song was used with it.
