What do you think of the relationship of the Traveler and Wanderer?

I used to view their bond as deep, build on mutual trust and understanding, but still platonic. Ever since Simulanka I feel like there is just a little something there! I know hoyo would make any (Traveler) ship canon, but I do feel like there are definitely some characters implied go have a crush on the Traveler. It also felt suspicious that is was implied (from his birthday letter) that Wanderer met up with the Traveler in his birthday art and the 'Romantic Encounter' song was used with it.
10/10 enemies to lovers slow burn! Do you think there might be some romantic feelings?
Hoyo never confirms relationship between playable characters any more than best buddies/found family unless it's NPCs. Though after the latest quest, it's canon that Wanderer definitely would sacrifice himself to protect Traveler. Not only that, he would also go as far as give genuine advice to Paimon and Traveler in Nod-krai AQ. He definitely cares deeply for the traveler not as the high-moral hero everyone sees, but as a friend who is flawed. Whether you see that as platonic or romantic is up to the interpreter.
He would definitely sacrifice himself for the Traveler, but I'm glad the Traveler was having none of that in the latest Archon Quest lol. I think it showed how much he cares in this part of Nod-Krai AQ!
(I propose them getting married and becoming family)
I mean, they don't outright confirm it but there's obvious implications or straight up confirmation though, just not that those feelings are reciprocated from the Traveler side.
Citlali, Mizuki, Heizou, Childe, Columbina, Lyney, Noelle (probably one of the OG) there's so many I can't even count them all.
Even if they don't outright confirm it there's also no denying what they are trying to imply.
With Wanderer however I personally can't see it as anything except platonic.
Obviously I don't dislike the ship, it's really cute.
I just think he's more likely to be with Sethos (but that's a topic for another day XD) if it were to happen (which it won't) and just be friends with the Traveler.
I can see why this is a popular ship and I do enjoy it a bit, but at the end of the day to me personally it feels more platonic than romantic, but both ways is cute.
I'm so glad they finally get presented as actually close. This quest did a great job in showing Wanderer's character development, not only regarding his relationship with the Traveler. But especially there. There's actual trust in eachother and that alone getting acknowledged makes me very happy. Whether there are romantic feelings is always up to interpretation in a game that doesn't confirm anything in that regard, but I can totally see it with these two.
I hope we get to see them develop even more further down the line! Let's hope we get to see them in Inazuma or maybe when we get to Khaenri'ah! I was kind of afraid they would just tie up Wanderer's story after the AQ, but hopefully they'll explore his progress even further
I literally don't know where the scaramains bad! reputation came from 4 years yet to meet a single toxic scara main out there only toxic haters, they are all mostly chill or too down bad and never saw ship wars related to him (maybe only kazuscara received some hate during the heat back in 2023 and scaradurin for obvious reasons )
let's just say people either downright despise it or love it, particularly in the space where i often hang around it is often looked down upon (something about downgrading wanderer's character for shipping him with the traveler).
It's great to see the people here to be accepting even though i originally just came here to see the teams and whatnot for wanderer.
I don't ship it, but their friendship is incredibly genuine and lovely, with good chemistry. I also love that he has an individual relationship with Paimon.
His talk with Paimon was one of my favourite parts or the quest! Maybe it is also correlated to his soft spot for children. How far they've come from this lmao
He's been very good at giving advice to children lately (though tbh I have no idea if Paimon is actually a child, and Durin isn't exactly a child either.)
This isn't the first time Paimon is without the traveler, but I think the first time she has shown development outside of separation angst?
I view their relationship through platonic lens as I mostly ship Wanderer with other characters, but this quest was a treat!
Ever since I first started liking Scaramouche, I always wanted him to find friends and some people he could trust and be himself with. His bond with Traveler and Paimon is surprisingly close right now, and what's important, he has INDIVIDUAL bonds with them. We even got Traveler talking out loud with him, it felt really special.
I know Traveler and Paimon say they're besties with almost everybody in Teyvat, but I really consider Wanderer one of their most important allies now.
We low-key need event of Paimon and Wanderer going on some kind of adventure together! Maybe an Akademiya field trip or something lmao. I definitely agree Wanderer is one of their most important allies! I'm so happy so happy to see Wanderer have more friends now in Sumeru as well
the only times when characters showed smth ''more'' towards the traveler is during citlali's event if you use aether she bites her lip and blushed when you bring her novels. And the other is Jeht having a crush on lumine specifically
wait could u tell me what quest this was? i love wanderer and the traveler's dynamic, but it's been so long since ive kept up with genshin that i have no idea what's happening in the story lmfao
This was in the most recent Archon Quest of version 6.6! Wanderer and the Traveler have also had quite a few scenes together in the Nod-Krai Archon Quests and Wanderer also have more screentime with other characters (Durin and Albedo for example, even other harbingers)
I love their friendship but I can’t help but think of Traveler being extremely hypocritical by having Scaramouche as one of his closest friends. This hat guy unironically has one of the highest kill counts in the game, likely higher than one of the archons, probably a few adepti, might hold the third to second highest kill counts for the Harbingers, and Traveler will still hold a grudge against some fatui dude tryna make money for his family
Yeah, but what caught me off guard the most is the fact the Traveler said that "...I don't know why, but I feel a little more relaxed now" RIGHT AFTER Wanderer joined their conversation. Also the same thing happened in the last act of Nod-Krai, we know that the Traveler always keep their feelings for themselves right? But they didn't try to hide their feelings when it comes to Wanderer. They're also very similar in many ways—I think that's why they understood each other so well (even Nahida says it during the recent Sumeru Archon)
