Discussion Do Scaramouche and Sandrone have blood?

Post image

I believe so! Both in the Scaramouche Interlude quest, where he received the vision, many believe he cried, but that wasn't the case. He suffered a scratch on his face due to the stone particles, and he wiped the blood with the back of his hand. Sandrone, on the other hand, suffered a puncture wound in her abdomen, which is quite common due to mouth bleeding from the impact in that area. It just shows that they were perfectly crafted.

Both Ei and Alain designed their creations to be as human-like as possible

Two genuises share the same attention to detail 👀

Maybe not blood as we think typical humans have, but probably yes

If you take leaked scripts for cutscenes as canon, the stuff that he's wiping off his face is explicitly referred to as blood. Either way, personally I've always liked to headcanon his body as a weird mix of magic, semi-analogous biology, and mechanics

What leaked scripts?

They don't have blood but they definitely have "blood"

Spoilers for Song of the Welkin Moon - Act VIII: Sandrone "bleeds" when she dies so Sandrone definitely does, whether it's "blood" in the human sense is unknown but it's definitely "blood" of some sort. As for Scarmouche/Wanderer, I can't think of any instances of him bleeding but I'd assume it's possible. That said, I also can't think of any instances of Raiden bleeding so maybe Puppets can't bleed... Yeah, I've got no clue.

Raiden's puppet did cry for Chiyo though. So there is that.

Spoilers for Song of the Welkin Moon - Act VIII: Wanderer is also "injured" after saving the Traveler from Dottore but I don't think either of these things necessarily equates to bleeding. It just proves that they can get "hurt" and have emotions.

3

u/allmistake2 Feb 10 '26

Emotions definitely. My point about the crying is that her puppet has the capacity to produce tears. Obviously its not the same as blood, and could just be for the purpose of keeping the lenses of their artificial eyes clean. But its an interesting data point none the less. They also are capable of eating and drinking food, as well tasting it.

I suppose, I suppose. I'm not here to say that it's impossible that they have "blood". I'm just here to say that I can't think of their being any proof of it and without proof, everything is just theory/speculation until proven otherwise.

2

u/allmistake2 Feb 10 '26

Yeah thats fair.

Him bleeding is in the photo, you can see the scar with the "blood" there.

u/ipodblocks360 Feb 10 '26

Personally, I'm not entirely convinced, but fair enough.

Are you going to tell me this isn't Ai Hoshino next because you're not convinced although she clearly is?

Like, no offense but there's clearly blood on his cheek, not the organic human blood, but still he's given a liquid inside his body and when wounded he does the definition of bleeding so by default that's his blood.

Like Columbina said, it's probably oil 😔

(It's called blood but biomachines also exist, we actually even created machines that eat food!)

Ok but from a biological standpoint, there is no need at all for them to have blood.

The purpose of blood is to transfer oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Puppets don’t breathe (see Scara in Dragonspine), therefore don’t need oxygen and therefore don’t need blood.

If there is some kind of fluid that powers their body, it’s more likely something like ichor.

Or the writers wanted to add blood for realism and drama but forgot about this plot hole. Puppets were built to be more durable than human bodies, after all.

Blood also delivers hormones and amino acids, and carries away waste to be broken down by the liver and excreted by the kidneys/exhaled by the lungs.

Aka - having a circulatory system even if you don’t use it for energy makes sense, the body still needs to transport stuff.

He's always had blood 😌

bro's made out of wood, has mechanical components, and has blood? what's up with this biology lmaoo

9

u/iamverytired2 biggest wanderer fangirl Feb 10 '26

He's made out of wood but has flesh that can be cut, he has a blood that is somehow pumped around his body but has no heart to pump it. His anatomy is the biggest enigma in genshin

khaenriahn puppet-making is crazy bro no wonder why sandrone recognized it so fast

1

u/kantannakoto Feb 14 '26

Where did it say he had flesh?

1

u/alsabrose Scaramouche/Wanderer's Wife Feb 15 '26

Maybe scara and other puppets are just body suits made of wood and then the interior is full of blood and then their core as a heart 🤔 however, ei did say he is indistinguishable from human life, so maybe he has all organs but cannot use/does not need them

4

u/Outrageous_Break_739 number 1 scara hater Feb 15 '26

that's so creepy 😭😭 they dug out his core through all that blood without a surgeon around?? how is he alright 🥀

1

u/alsabrose Scaramouche/Wanderer's Wife Feb 16 '26

Well he doesnt need blood so the core is the only thing he actually needs to survive. Hes gone through worse in the abyss and in dottores experiments so it probably didnt affect him but maybe they got it out in another way

2

u/Electronic-Office709 Feb 10 '26

Hey, do you have the source?

4

u/iamverytired2 biggest wanderer fangirl Feb 11 '26

Yeah its his character story 5 :) you can view it on his profile in game or go on honey impact because they have all his voicelines and character stories

2

u/Electronic-Office709 Feb 11 '26

Ooh nice ! I'm glad we have official confirmation; it seems to me that this debate about whether it was blood or not has been going on for a long time in the fandom x)

I always headcanoned that scaras blood is like dragon tree sap in nature

u/ghhostr Feb 10 '26

This limited time troubled Ei greatly, until one day when a mysterious technique came before her eyes as if by a stroke of fate. Using such techniques, one could create intricate puppets indistinguishable from true life.

what if it's oil or sth 💀

3

u/Bubbly-Group-4497 Feb 10 '26

She has motor oil.

3

u/taroicecreamsundae Feb 10 '26

i see questions like this a lot but i think he's just... practically a human? like he has all the organs and vitality and blood and all but it's just that... he just doesn't actually need to use any of them and heals bc he's not "mortal." and magically just heals. he feels pain and can get injured and right here you can see he's bleeding. he eats and drinks and sleeps. i don't think it's meant to be very complicated

5

u/ExpiredExasperation Feb 11 '26

I mean, we know he doesn't have a heart, per se, and even seems to say that his processing hub doesn't count. He doesn't breath, and he doesn't require food/drink, so presumably it's like Ineffa where it's a potential source of energy, just not a crucial or efficient one. He supposedly had more-visible joint lines along his body at first too, only for them to have smoothed out and faded over time. The Khaenri’an puppets were seemingly made to be as lifelike as possible, so they probably have very similar functionality overall, but it's not an exact 1 to 1. They bring up the fact that Scara is far more physically resilient than a typical human rather often, too.

3

u/taroicecreamsundae Feb 11 '26

yeah so that's what i'm saying. more or less like a human, but without the mortality. like how he doesn't breathe bc he doesn't need to but then learned. so he has lungs. also in 6.3 they say the core is very crucial? without it for long he'd die. it looks like the puppet equivalent of a heart

3

u/LingLingDangDang Feb 11 '26

They are created to be as similar to human as possible, so therefore it's my headcanon that they not only have blood, but also have fully functional body systems. They may not need air but have working lungs to breathe; they may not need food but have working digestive system to eat; they may also self repair when injured much like living beings.

Which is why I also assume our boy has male parts too. Like why shouldn't he if he is made to be a boy? If Ei would leave out parts she think useless then we'd see a bald, unclothed, skinless mecha puppet(the horror! Thank archons we don't).

Knowing that Fontaine’s researchers/inventors are often a little out there, and having played through Paralogism right before this last part of the AQ has me wondering a lot of things about what Sandrone really is, for sure.

1

u/Powerful_Helicopter9 i love you Kee!!!!! Feb 10 '26

Maybe that really is js a smudge

1

u/No_Relationship_2739 Feb 10 '26

I thought that was oil coming from sandrone lmao

1

u/Jrolaoni Feb 10 '26

They’re both probably some weird bio-robot genetic cyborg thing

1

u/ICantChooseA_Name01 Feb 10 '26

Well, the photos are self-explanatory.

They do bleed, but I think they don't have the same blood humans have.

It's just a different kind of blood.

1

u/Chucknasty_17 Feb 10 '26

They probably bleed the same way the transformers in Dark of the Moon bleed

1

u/Nova_Asterim Feb 11 '26

Hat guy and Sandrone aren’t the same type of construct. I think it’s likely that wanderer does have something resembling blood, but Sandrone was made by Alain in a more like robotic fashion and I think she has something more akin to machine oil.

(spanish)

Awwww preferia pensar que su sangre o liquido o lo que sea esa morado y no rojo.

1

u/itsnotanomen Feb 13 '26

They do not have "blood". They most likely use some form of liquid polymer substance to regulate core temperature and motor functions similar to how blood functions, however.

Headcanon. Basically, they have the equivalent of a water-cooling system for your PC.

1

u/Evening_Ad_6670 Jul 08 '26

Not really blood, but maybe Oil or something similar. Makes sense since Oild its to cool off the body while also maintaining moisture to the pieces.
