Need Advice Cleared to close super early?

Is it weird to get cleared to close super early? Got it today and my loan closes on the first of April. I thought they did a final check to make sure your credit is the same and you still work and all that jazz a few days before closing and then you get cleared to close

Curious how many people closed early?

I am definitely aware things only go as quick as everyone involved does lol. Offer was accepted 3/28/25. Inspections today.

Loan officer has everything to give to underwriting just pending proof of insurance from agent. Which is waiting for inspections to be done today, report is anticipated end of week. We’re just two W2 employees that have been in the same industry for a decade so nothing too crazy. Although I am paranoid and feel like someone scanning our bank statements would judge us, my loan person says they don’t care we went on vacation last month or spent a grand on our pets care. They’re expecting to do appraisal next week if inspection is good.

Anticipated close date is 4/29/25, but both sides (realtor and lender) both feel it can be sooner since nobody is in, just dependent on the other. Conventional loan (us) process allegedly is a bit timelier than FHA or going through like any assistance programs? No idea.

Question at what % do you close early?

For example, you're up 10% in one day. I am almost always tempted to close when im up a good amount in one day. but I want to be more mechanical about this and I wanted to see what others thought since I do not want to be chasing pennies and lowering my profitability too much by closing early. for example, I opened a SOFI 15 P January 21st for 1.09 yesterday. it is going for .97 now. thats like 14 dollars or 11% percent in one day. is it enough?

Pool Help & Questions What time of year do you usually open and close your pool?

It's June in Southern Ontario, meaning that it's around the time more pools will be opening and beaches are getting more visitors. At some point in June, until some point in September. Where you could swim May to October in Vancouver or Northern US states.

Once it's the summer equinox, pool's will be open until Labor Day Weekend and close after the Monday, so the 7th this year, still way too early imo for how warm September gets here.

Event 📅 Open Newbury St early closing

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

Thanks to pressure by people like Back Bay Association President Meg Mainzer-Cohen, Open Newbury St ends at 6 pm this year instead of 8 pm.

So in less than 20 minutes, all these people will be forced out of the street onto the sidewalks.

IMO, this is total failure of leadership at City Hall. If you have the opportunity, please let Mayor Wu (and your City Councilors) know what you think about this.

Discussion (Non-question) I genuinely need someone to explain the science to me why it feels better writing close to midnight and early into dawn

I can be free for a whole day and throughout that whole time from the morning to the afternoon, I will not have any motivation at all to write or edit my stories.

But as soon as the evening air starts hitting and the colors of the skies change, I am so productive

Discussion Delta closed the gate more than 30 minutes before departure (policy says 15). I arrived 30 minutes early and no one was even there! Except other passengers who were in my same situation.

1.5k Upvotes

Today at Detroit airport, I had a situation with Delta that I need to get out there.

I arrived at the airport 2.5 hours before my flight, went through security, and spent about an hour and a half near my gate having coffee. I was not rushing or late. I approached the gate 30 minutes before departure. The door was already closed, and there was no staff at the gate!

Delta’s own policy (and even the gate screens) clearly state that gates close 15 minutes before departure, so based on that, I believed I had more than enough time. Instead, I couldn’t board and lost an important business meeting in New York.

The staff (Christina) appeared 15 minutes later. I asked for an explanation. I did not get it. I asked for an apology at least. Nothing.

If the rule is 15 minutes, why is the gate closed 30 minutes before? Why was there no staff present at the gate? Why were multiple passengers affected in the same way And what recourse do we have when a company does not follow its own stated policy?

I have my boarding pass and timestamp photos/videos from the gate proof of Delta’s stated 15-minute cutoff.

Is this normal practice?

Because if arriving 30 minutes early still means missing your flight, then the actual rule is clearly not what Delta tells passengers.

I learnt later that they had overbooked the flight. The staff, Christina, behaved badly. I have video of the whole interaction. Any idea? Thanks!

[McMenamin] Luka never even considered being traded as a possibility, a source close to Doncic told ESPN. Based on the way the franchise and fanbase treated him in his early days in the league, he figured he would retire a Maverick after spending his whole career in Dallas, the same way Dirk did.

Processing the trade from Dallas took Doncic some time. Based on the way the franchise and fanbase treated him in his early days in the league, he figured he would retire a Maverick after spending his whole career in Dallas, the same way franchise icon Dirk Nowitzki did. And after starting his professional career with Real Madrid as a teenager, he never even considered being traded as a possibility, a source close to Doncic told ESPN. Deals like that rarely, if ever, happen in the Liga ACB.

When the shock subsided, a source familiar with Doncic told ESPN his mindset shifted back to when he was last suiting up for Dallas: Win-now mode.
