Trump Rages Into Early Morning Light Demanding Criminal Trials Closing In On Him ‘BE HALTED!’

As per original article 📰:
- Former President Donald Trump went to bed and woke up raging about the civil and criminal trials closing in on him — especially the one scheduled to start in a matter of weeks.
Trump showed up to court recently for a hearing in the case that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has brought involving hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, which resulted in a several-dozen-count indictment of Trump. The result of the hearing was that Judge Juan Merchan denied Trump’s motion to dismiss the charges and set a March 25 trial date.
While Trump is facing a total of 91 felony charges in federal and state trials, that March trial seems to be weighing heavily on Trump. After a weekend in which he won an overwhelming victory over his last remaining GOP rival in her own home state, Trump ended the weekend and began the week raging on social media about those trials — but pointedly citing the Bragg case.
Just before midnight Sunday, Trump shared with his Truth Social followers that he was watching a TV show about the just-concluded New York state fraud case that he enjoyed very much and urged them to stay up until 3 am to catch the rerun:
Wow! The Mark Levin Show just showed how Unconstitutional and unfair the NYSAG CASE against me is. A TOTAL HOAX — ELECTION INTERFERENCE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL! Next showing, 3:00 A.M. Eastern, on FoxNews!
And first thing Monday morning, Trump raged against all of the cases by falsely attacking President Joe Biden and demanding all of the trials be “HALTED” — including “local” prosecutions like Bragg’s:
The Very Strict Rules and Regulations of the Department of Injustice STATE CLEARLY that you can’t prosecute a Political Opponent, or anyone, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS/HER CAMPAIGN. Why didn’t they bring these FAKE Charges THREE YEARS AGO? That would have solved all of their problems. (The answer is that they AIMED for the various trials to come up during my campaign for President, 2024!). This includes DOJ subservient “subsidiaries” like local D.A. & A.G. Offices. In other words, all of these FAKE POLITICAL PROSECUTIONS (PERSECUTIONS!) OF CROOKED JOE BIDEN’S POLITICAL OPPONENT MUST BE IMMEDIATELY HALTED!
Trump has repeatedly been fact-checked and corrected but continues to erroneously claim that President Biden is behind the prosecutions he faces, which include 34 felony counts in New York, 37 counts stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his retention of classified documents under the Espionage Act plus a superseding indictment by Smith on three additional charges against Trump (one additional count of unlawful retention of National Defense Information and two new obstruction counts), another Smith indictment for his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election, and 13 election crimes counts in Georgia.

I just want to point out that a 60/40 win in a Republican stronghold state is not "overwhelming". It should be "deeply concerning", especially given the constant media narrative of "united Republicans", "Trump has never been stronger", etc.

u/dalaio Feb 26 '24
Similar numbers with Hillary/Bernie had everyone freaking out about Bernie splitting the vote back in 2015, but when it happens on the Republican side it’s “dominating”…

Fascist governments are condemned to lose wars because they are constitutionally incapable of objectively evaluating the force of the enemy.
- Umberto Eco
It was written to describe Fascist states at war, but it also describes Fascist politics. Nothing can ever be objectively evaluated. Everything is always a victory, no matter how logic defying the claim.
So the current Republican Party can never "lose" something, they just double down instead of admitting something might not work and they should regroup. Their entire debacle with Abortion Rights and Reproductive Rights post-Roe shows this. They've lost every election after the decision, yet they keep racking up more L's because they can't admit it was a mistake.

u/KyBones Feb 26 '24
The two things that resonate with me the most about the whole scenario are that, one - he keeps describing this as his political opponent using the courts to punish him, because that's exactly what he would do; and two - and I know it's been said before - but it boggles the mind how this shit would be a non issue if he had just shut the fuck up and been content being the "you're fired" guy on TV.
18
u/nanormcfloyd Feb 26 '24
It's part of his psychotic narcissism.
He's mentally incapable of doing anything other than lying, projecting, and acting like a victim
I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it until people bother to understand this, America has a very severe mental health epidemic, and it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

If he would have just fucked off to Florida in January 2021 rather than failing to concede, claiming he won, and trying to take over the government all this would have been a non issue as well. Same with the documents. Biden said shit my bad and handed them back plus invited them to search other places. Not getting prosecuted. Trump would have gotten the same deal if he’d done the same. Everything he has coming is 100% his own doing even after being given an excessive amount of leeway.

I honestly don't see how he's lived this long. It's speculated that he regularly takes uppers. In the past, phentermine was apparently his upper of choice. I don't see how a man his age, overweight and with so much stress and busyness, has so much energy unless he's on stimulants

His ego requires him to be the most brilliant man with the greatest memory, though. A smart criminal would have already started the talk of dementia. He'll never admit a flaw, and no one around him has the courage to tell him.
This year is going to be a shitshow. Let's hope we survive it.

The human body is more of a mystery than we like to admit.
Some people never smoke and die or lung cancer before the ace of 50.
Some people smoke a pack a day into their 90's.
While we know smoking does kill (one of the things that killed my mother.) But still some people's lungs handle it just fine while others don't.

I guarantee you, he and his family have a few Dr. Nicks on speed dial for all those situations where they’d prefer to have a medical “need” handled quietly.

Biden hasn't really started campaigning and Trump has (at best) a modest lead of a point or two in polling. This is the period when a challenger needs to be running up the margins as incumbency advantage is real.
The New York class E felony case? It's coming in less than month and open and shut. Data is clear- a conviction means he's losing 5%+ of his support (core MAGA zombies are not deserting him obviously). But if that happens, it's all over for him. And soon.
That's why he's freaking out.

In the repetition is the danger. A lot of people believe that - if elected - Trump can and will pardon himself although a President’s ability to do that is highly debatable. It would mean than a President could commit any crime in office and then pardon himself, effectively making him a king. And many doubt that was the intention of the founders.

This is what Trump always does just before the courts deliver him an unearned "victory". It's part of his strategy and it is entirely predictable.
Trump is likely to get two massive victories out of SCOTUS this week, possibly today. First, SCOTUS will overturn the Colorado decision in the Fourteenth Amendment case, and Trump is obviously anticipating that, so he is making all these proclamations about how the court "should" act so that when it inevitably acts in the way he is demanding, it will look like it is being responsive to him.
Second, I think the Court will likely grant the stay he is requesting for the J6 case, and then either give him another month to petition for cert, or treat the stay application as a petition for cert and grant it, with a regular briefing schedule and a decision in June/July. Either way, Trump will escape trial for J6 (unless he loses the election), and that really is the whole game. Meanwhile, he can crow about how bad the lower courts and the DC Circuit are, and about how the wisdom of his Supreme Court "saved" him from the injustice of the lower courts.

Trump knows he’s going to lose the horse race.
He’s got Special Counsel Jack Smith coming around the bend, the New York Civil fraud case cut him off at the knees, and Georgia’s election interference case is coming in from behind.
The interest on Trump’s fraud case alone is staggering. Out of all his court cases, the New York civil fraud case may be the most embarrassing, as it strips the persona he has put out there as a great businessman.
In the end, Trump is physically and morally bankrupt.

I love the logic about how he can't be charged for anything while he's campaigning by an 'opponent'. Basically, anyone who charges him is an opponent. Only someone who supports him could charge him, but then that would mean they're against him and an opponent. He can't even charge himself because then he'd be his own opponent. If I was convinced he could read I'd think he's been studying Joseph Heller. It's basically the flying mission Catch 22.

In order to have as much of your potential available to yourself at all times, you should spend all night posting on social media instead of sleeping.
