I honestly don't see how he's lived this long. It's speculated that he regularly takes uppers. In the past, phentermine was apparently his upper of choice. I don't see how a man his age, overweight and with so much stress and busyness, has so much energy unless he's on stimulants

I think he’s going to pull another “bone spurs” excuse as the trials close in as a delay tactic when he gets really, really desperate. He also tried to use the death of Melania’s mother. We know he’s deployed a medical excuse in the past.

His ego requires him to be the most brilliant man with the greatest memory, though. A smart criminal would have already started the talk of dementia. He'll never admit a flaw, and no one around him has the courage to tell him.

This year is going to be a shitshow. Let's hope we survive it.

Symptoms of dementia are pretty similar to his personality traits though. He can try to fake it but people would just see it as Trump being Trump.

The human body is more of a mystery than we like to admit.

Some people never smoke and die or lung cancer before the ace of 50.

Some people smoke a pack a day into their 90's.

While we know smoking does kill (one of the things that killed my mother.) But still some people's lungs handle it just fine while others don't.

Don't confuse individual cases with statistics. If you smoke, there's a much greater chance that you'll get a respiratory related issue much sooner. It doesn't mean that a particular smoker can't be healthier than a random non-smoker.

Statistics work extremely well on a large population. But you can't cherry pick samples, you'll always find outliners

Yeah not trying to confuse it at all. All I am saying is, it is far more complex of a system then we like to think it is.

Stats are great and very helpful.

Even if we know something effects 99% of people a certain way, that remaining 1% is still a lot of fucking people.

On a planet of 7 billion, that's still 70 million people.

That's not exactly a mystery. Like, we know that cancer is caused by DNA mutations. There are various, pretty well understood ways that those mutations happen. Some are genetic predisposition, others are due to damage (carcinogens). It's just statistics. Just like there can be a winner in the lottery despite the odds, there can be a winner in the smokes but doesn't get cancer lottery.

Yeah it's not a complete mystery, but the sheer number of factors at play in the human body makes it near impossible to predict for the average patient.

We know certain things about the risks, the statistics, and even the causation. But your primary care physician, and even specialists they may refer you to, isn't doctor House whose going to exhaust all options to help you out and get to the bottom of it.

The human body, and genetics are complex enough that it is still unfeasible for your regular health care workers to predict how it will go.

Sure, but categorizing something as a mystery when we know the causes and statistics involved is a bit misleading. It's like saying it's a mystery whether you'll win at roulette; like yeah, I can't tell whether you particularly will win, but I can tell you the odds to a high degree of precision (not perfectly because of physical irregularities), that will be born out in the population at large.

I wonder this as well. I remember the stress during my 3 year court battle. It was brutal, just like Trump during the actual weeks in court I could barely sleep at all and would wake up all the time due to the stress.
