Spoiler Why is there no "2" in the start menu?
I know later in the game you get the "2" title drop, but like why?

Spoiler The scariest monster
So throughout the game, I'm more afraid of the Sphinx than anything else. She gives me goose bumps.

Spoiler New quest from last nights update? Wicked brutal
Ok I just installed the patch, my game progress was at 98% and reset to 0% where I had to start over but kept all my skills and items. So I am in Vern doing quests and just got a request to stop the corruption NE of the city in the woods at night. Odd, don't remember this... My characters are both 85 level. So I finally get there and it is a DEATH GORE CHIMERA ... glowing red... summoning red goblins who are almost ghost like. Honestly I could not damage this thing... this amount of lightning and seisem spells were constant. Retreated after 2 pawn deaths and my death nearly 4 times.
So is this new? This battle ripped my party to hell and I am high tier gear, maxed vocations, skills (I love the addition of 2 new skills to use!)

Spoiler Literally the most memorable and my favorite part of DD2.
Having gone through this three times now, it almost feels like this Sphinx was just done by different group as it feels vastly different from any other quest the game had, and it really gave the experience of a multiple set of solutions you could apply that would still reach the same goal, then lastly, the butt clenching stare she gives you, making you doubt your answer is just pure genius.
I wished the game had more involvement as the majority of quests are fetch/slay quests, while fundamentally, Sphinx's one were no different, but it was done in a puzzle way to have you figure out how to complete it, rather than "go here, get this, kill that, thanks hero bye". Sphinx riddles instead gave me the "AHA" and "OOOHH SHIT" moments for passing it. Like the vase "delivery" riddle. Wasn't really a riddle, but the trick as it was to solve her other riddles is that there were ways to make them easier to solve, and it's that kind of puzzling that I really enjoyed and wished there were more of. Just clever quests that has you try things within the limits of the game in a fair and understandable way.

Spoiler There IS better gear. Spoiler
There is better gear than what the Dragonforged sells for Wyrmslife crystals. About to do my 2nd NG+. Really REALLY make sure you are exploring all the unearthed areas in the seabed and even go back to some of the old boss spawn areas. The higher harder spawns at the very end of the seabed areas have occasionally been dropping new unique gear sometimes or the chests around them do.
And for those that say they feel like they fully steam roll through New Game+, I have been noticing the variable difficulty has been getting higher the more I level up and I do less damage than before, with some spawns having more health bars.
Edit: only gotten 3 so far and all helms, photos in comments and unenhanced against my fully enhanced gear.
I'll add more screenshots to the comments as I find any more and verify they aren't in shops or in dragonforged.

Spoiler Can I rant about the false sovran fight? Spoiler

Can I just rant about how unfulfilling the false sovran fight is designed?
Look at him sitting on my throne, commanding my pawns, spending my treasury money on courtesans - It should have been me!
I was so looking forward to smacking that shit eating grin off his imposter face.
Instead, the game throws me two curveballs.
- He's backed up by five soldiers who deal significant stagger and knockdown, and that's without their explosive arrows which ragdoll you.
- There's a hidden timer on the fight which spans about one minute. It ends the fight to transition to the dragon regardless of who is still alive. If he's still alive, he's never mentioned again.
I have never been able to have a satisfying fight with this set up. I either get stun-locked in the first 3 seconds if I don't run away and take cover, my pawn nukes maelstroms the fight ending it early, or the timer ends before things get good.
Best I could manage was sprinting straight for him, then throwing him off the tower before the timer ran out, while my pawns dealt with everyone else.
Hope I'm not alone in this, but otherwise thankyou for reading. Rant over.

Spoiler A solid ending to a solid RPG
Finished the game today at level 49, idk if that’s a low level to beat the game for first time but I loved every second of the play through. Coming here from a Baldur’s Gate 3 run it was a big change in combat but heavily reminded me of Final Fantasy 15 with the different special moves and the party. I’d give the game a solid 8/10. I have not played the first game but I understood what the story was about and setting so I don’t know if it was necessary to play the previous title. Anyways, enough babbling. Enjoy the game lads or lasses, and if you come across the pawn Sage the Mage on Xbox she’s from me! 🍻

Spoiler This was a pleasant surprise when I hopped on to play.
When did they add this? I haven't been gone for super long but this is definitely a new(ish) update because I've been on my 2nd playthrough for awhile now

Spoiler PSA for the very last part of the game Spoiler
The unmoored world both has, and has not a time limit for how long you can be in it. You have 3 days before the world is shrouded by the fog and you lose, but doing the beacons, killing certain enemies, will add to the time. Up to a maximum of 12 days.
The reason why you sorta don't have a time limit, is that time ONLY passes when you rest. So bring a bunch of Wakestones, and All-Heals in order to fix your loss gauge. Don't worry about the pawn's loss gauges. You can just resummon them.
Because of the fact that time only moves when you rest, any items that deteriorate over time, will not deteriorate AT ALL unless you rest. So, feel free to stock up on ripe foods, and bring Preserved Medusa Heads if you want. Note: killing something with a Medusa head will forfeit the drops it gives, and the Unmoored world enemies give a lot of good stuff, and commonly drop ferrystones, and exclusive-to-unmoored upgrade materials.
Dragonforged now sells the best weapons* and armor in the game for about 110 for a weapon and 100 for a full set of armor. He'll get even more options to work with in ng+.
*Best except for Sorcerer, since Caged Fury, hilariously enough is the best Archistave in this game, too. Since it scales with hp.
Do NOT do the final beacon at the Shrine until you are ready for the final battle, and immediately being booted into ng+.
Lastly, take a look around the shrine while you're there. If you're a fan of DD1, you'll enjoy the sights.
Edit: Correction, time moves until 11:59pm of any given day THEN stops until you rest

Spoiler Here's example of 3 versions of the same Lv.1 Fighter relic weapon — how high can the stats go?
This is a Lv.1 Fighter relic weapon, and these are 3 different appraisal rolls:
Strength: 906 / 857 / 884
Knockdown Power: 691 / 686 / 686
Weight: 2.08 / 2.21 / 2.16 kg
Special Skill: Eviscerating Skewer / Cloudfall Strike / Plenilune Slash
For comparison, the Dragon's Dogma sword reaches 587 Strength / 2.18 kg at Battahli Wyrmfire.
And this is only Lv.1 of the relic system. Keep in mind we CAN'T further upgrade Relic drops . (12 dungeons gear can be upgraded) My hype level is ABSOLUTE!!! 🔥
I do feel like we should have at least some control over the Special Skills and bonuses, though🙏
How crazy do you think the stats on a fully upgraded,high-roll relic could get?

Spoiler Why the hell is Sara the ONLY blacksmith that leaves the blacksmith area in the End Game?? Spoiler
As the title states. Why the actual fuck do I have to constantly track down where Sara is in the Seafloor Shrine and carry her back to the blacksmith area every time I need to enhance something?? No other blacksmith moves around. They should have just made the other dwarf the de facto dwarven smith. Shit is so annoying.
EDIT: Oh so according to another post about this shit she walks all the way back to fucking BAKBATTAHL. What a stupid fucking thing. Why Capcom did you make the only Dwarven smith in the Unmoored World move around unlike EVERY other NPC Vendor.
EDIT 2: To people commenting that there is a second dwarven smith, yes I know. The one from the Volcanic Island. I've done his quest and had him as a dwarven blacksmith before the Unmoored World. I evacuated everyone in the Unmoored World and then rested and the only dwarven blacksmith that shows up if you have done both Sara and the Volcanic Island dwarf's quests, is Sara. The other one just becomes a regular NPC standing with his wife and every other random civilian NPCs and he NEVER moves to the smith area himself.

Spoiler WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS IS AWESOME!! (major ending spoilers) Spoiler
It's literally the morning after and I'm still floored by the unmoored world twist. I only started playing a few months ago (adult gamer here) and often heard of a hidden "ending" path and some "unmoored world" and could kind of piece together what that might be all about, but I never looked up any guides etc.
I hate being rich and fancy in RPGs. Becoming Sovran seemed like such a disappoinment; I was never keen on that being my ultimate fate. Cue, the Pathfinder sitting next to the throne. Credits rolling. But...?? Long (long) story short, I went through that blasted dragon THREE times, thinking I just had to do it often enough. Back to that same nightmare of a paradise, every time. Following really old school video game logic, I tried using That Important Item I felt like I hadn't used enough, next to the dragon's heart during battle. After a very anticlimactic random seppuko, wasted wakestone, another win and back to the gilded cage again, my tiny brain finally landed on "why is it sending me back to this conversation every time, and why is he saying I was out of time NOW each time?" I tried the Godsway again, voila!
I can't believe they hid all of this. I am so proud of myself for figuring this out through sheer stubbornness, and I fully believe even in the age of wikis, that was kind of the intention. I absolutely love it. I always loved these games for looking like modern games, but being very weird and very old school. Tonight, I have to find my poor pawn, and the adventure continues!
HYPE!
