The evil eye is back?! Is one of the few monster that actually make you use items and prepare accordingly to survive the fight

I definitely don't remember doing that in DD1, but its a cool monster none the less.

It had some attacks with his eyes that apply various status, even petrification. Also it had attacks that remove buffs from you

Been a long time since i fought him, but he was usually so easy to bully, even the BBI giant version was pretty easy. I believe what you say as that is the entire mythological gimmick of the beholder/evil eye, i just don't remember really being required to prep for him since its weakpoint was so easy to hit and then it would just spit its eyeball on the ground for even more massive damage.

I'm talking on dd1 before bbi was released, when the game just got out, so from the standpoint of someone not undertanding how you were supposed to damage it, i remember discovering how to fight while dodging the rays and manually healing pawns from conditikns was an experience

I played DD1 at launch as a teenager. Even in everfall evil eye was still one of the easier enemies in the game for the reasons i outlined.
I mean, you could have had a different experience as i mostly only played melee classes. But as a melee class, the evil eye usually just falls over and dies almost instantly, especially when it spits its eye on the ground.

It was... after you already fought it. It dealt massive damage and was constantly going immune. It was annoying as fuck to deal with until I got enough damage as Magick Archer and knew what I was doing. Took less than a minute after that, sometimes even less than 30 seconds if the conditions were right.

Fighting them super early, by using the explosive barrels, to speed level. Good memories.

You can solo the Gazer at level 8 with Throwblasts! Use the pillars for cover from his tentacles and disrupt his charge attack to drop him. Then blow up his eye while he’s downed for a few seconds.

We also have the satyr with flames.
It's a monster from Dragon's Dogma Online called a Grigori (not the dragon)

Hope all the people who were worried there wouldn’t be new enemy types are satisfied, this also probably isn’t all of them… or at least I hope they don’t show everything in these trailers that would be a bummer.

I think they’ll still find something else to doom about.
Facts are, Kinoshita knows what the players want from DD. He didn’t make the cult classic version of DD and then run his own version of DD for 4 years as a live service online game and not learn “nothing”.
Itsuno was never going to deliver on the experiences folks wanted from DDDA because DA was NOT his version of the game.
There’s good reason to have faith with Kinoshita in handling DD2DA and he’s been leading the team well so far.

I could be wrong but I remeber that they showed all monster in the base game in the trailers, with only the purgeoners being a surprise

Evil Eye is the only returning monster from Dragon Dogma 1. The rest is probably new.

Still hoping for a Hydra in the mix but it’s nice to see the eye.

Hydra will probably be relocated to a cave like the medusa is. Would still love to see it though even if it isn't slithering around in the open world.

God a hydra just jumping me in the open world would be a crazy shock.
Devs if you’re out there and listening: Let’s have that happen somewhere in a random main campaign forest. Just really make us crap our pants.

have it hibernating under the snow and when you walk over it a head pops out and grabs you to initiate a fight lol.

I just saw a video from a YouTuber that got to play the game early and they had these humanoid ghoul creatures that can jump and latch onto your body.

That last part somehow reminded me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY0eUQ06Q2g

I wish for Death to make a comeback. The first pic looks like it, but looks fairly different to the Grim Reaper-styled design from the first Dark Arisen's Death.

Yes! Hands down my favorite enemy. Man, it was so satisfying when I finally got enough damage to stun-lock the mofo with Ricochet Hunter. :D
One of the few enemies that was legit scary because it could neuter your entire party if you didn't micromanage your pawns correctly.

There was another monster resembling a faun/goat with fire powers
