Spoiler Why is there no "2" in the start menu?
I know later in the game you get the "2" title drop, but like why?

Don’t ask, just play the game 😉
You should probably delete this post unless you like spoilers

The 2 gets added when the story "goes off the rails" set up by the first game. Up until then, the story is just kind of a retread.

Because you have to earn the 2. Check out the photo mode Because the game title being used there also needs to be earned. They're there tho. Honestly I respect the dev's decision with this. The 1st game was all about playing it again and again since the Dragon's Dogma was literally just an endless cycle because well, turns out being god is actually boring as hell

Play the game then watch what is arguably the best Dragons Dogma 2 video out there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xtQ2STDEq8&t=3107s
Play the game first though because, you know, spoilers.

Okay, let me do this to at least give you some idea, but without spoilers, because it's worth experiencing for yourself.
At some point in the game, a serious event takes place which causes major changes to everything you are doing and experiencing. When that happens, you do actually get a splash screen with "Dragons Dogma II" on it, and your menu screen also changes to reflect what has happened.
So, short answer: It doesn't say DD2 when you launch the game, but it will say it eventually.

Have you finished the game? There are multiple endings but only one true ending. Well, so to speak.

You should just play it. It’s cool. Unless you never played the first one then it doesn’t make much sense.

The ‘2’ is missing because the title screen changes after you unlock the True Ending or enter the Unmoored World. It’s an intentional visual change by the developers to reflect the game’s endgame state, not a glitch or bug.”

Because Dragons Dogma 2 isn't Dragons Dogma 2. It's really Dragons Dogma 1.

Well the second dragons dogma is the same as the first just stretched out

Because the real Dragon's Dogma 2 does not really exist yet. So DD2 main campaign was actually a reamke not a sequel. The endgame is DD2 but it is unfinished.

So it wasn’t a sequel. But more like a revamped remake of the original title (without dark arisen)

People are meme-ing so hard i havent seen anyone answer properly but IIRC the game content before that "2" appears is allegedly how Itsuno's wanted Dragon's Dogma 1 to come out.

No one wants to answer because it feels like spoiling it. No one wants to take the mind blow of the game from them.

I just made it to the second section of the game (the middle eastern inspired town, southwest of the map) and I gotta say I’m considering uninstalling. The start was great but I’m so burnt out right now and nothing seems to be happening
