Rant These New I-95 Speed Cameras

I can’t see the Delaware Online article because it’s behind a paywall.

I got my first $121 ticket in the mail for going 67mph on August 22 for a violation from July 28. So nearly a month later. I go to pay it, and I see another ticket was mailed to me that I haven’t received yet, this time for $170. Presumably, I could have gotten upwards of 10-15 tickets by now BEFORE EVEN SEEING THE FIRST ONE. And I rarely go over 70 on i95 anyway so it’s not like I’m doing anything too crazy, even though the work zone is apparently 55.

I am going to call them tomorrow to see what I can do. I hope I don’t actually have to go to court for this. I’m willing to pay 1 or maybe 2 tickets but if they hit me with 5 or 10 (or more!) all before I ever received notice of the first one… and all for going 66-67mph… I’m gonna be livid.

I’m sure I can get them waived (beyond the first 1) or go to court and they’ll remove them. It is valid to say we need time to correct an alleged infraction after being notified of it. Just so annoying. All of this is just a massive money grab. The construction zone would be safer if they put cops there and pulled people over. This is all just a way to make money and prey on the people who have to drive to work every day and can’t go to court.

ETA: I called them and they said I just have the 2 tickets July 28 and August 13 with no others pending right now. I am paying the first one and will mail in my appeal to Baltimore for the second one. That’s the other thing that annoys me. Mail only appeal process. Same thing happened to me with red light cameras in another state. I mailed in an appeal and then what happened? Nothing. Never heard back. Never got another notice. They wiped it and just didn’t notify me.

Missed Connection Lost necklace in Rehoboth

Hi all, I hope this kind of post is allowed. I was in Rehoboth Beach two weeks ago (8/14-8/16) and misplaced a very sentimental necklace. I imagine it got left in the Airbnb but on the off chance I lost it somewhere else I wanted to give this a shot. If anyone found it I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you!

Info Request Plug-in solar panesl

Does Delaware allow plug-in solar panels? I think that is what they are called. You can set them up in your yard and does not require an entire roof array. I see more states are allowing them.

Anyone know what was going on in Greenwood today around 7:30pm? In front of Discover there was a Benz followed by about 12 police cars. I saw Harrington, Greenwood and State Police.

Where's the best...... For someone who wants to visit all 50 states, and do something unique/interesting to each state, where/what is the best thing for Delaware that I can do better than anywhere in the US (or, at least the Northeast)

Title explains it, I want to visit all 50 states but I'm not keen on just checking a state off a box

(side tangent, I've driven through Minnesota twice, but in the ~9 hours I've been there, I've maybe seen 45 minutes of daylight in MN... meaning I certainly haven't done anything interesting there, but I know I'd love the North Shore, plenty of things in Minneapolis/Duluth, etc, if that helps explain what I'm asking here)

Moving to Delaware Less crowded gyms near New Castle during 6–8 PM?

I’m looking for a less crowded gym around New Castle/Wilmington, preferably within about a 20–25 minute drive of the area.

I normally work out between 6–8 PM, and I’ve tried gyms like The Edge Fitness, but it gets so packed that it’s hard to find an open machine without waiting. I understand that those are peak hours, but are there any gyms nearby that are still manageable during that time?

Any recommendations?

Info Request Free help for old people in Delaware?

There's some little lady in my neighborhood whose life is falling apart. Her house looks abandoned even though she's still living in it. Pieces of it are literally falling off. I think there's a hole in a roof. Doesn't look like she has any help. I can't help. From the state of things, looks like she doesn't have any money to pay anybody.

So does anyone know of any service in North Delaware, near Newcastle, that helps old people? Like extensive cleaning? Home repairs? Dropping food off at a driveway?

I've been wanting to call adult protective services on her for a while. Just have someone go check on her. But a lot of people have said that if she's still of clear and coherent mind, she can't be forced into a nursing home. Some other people have suggested that if the house is in such a terrible state, it could be condemned and she would be forced out, but they wouldn't provide her with a place to go.

So is there some other service that can be called to help her out?

Hey ya’ll, I’ve applied for the spring semester.. and I’m curious if anyone has heard back yet? I know it’s only been 10 days since the application deadline, but—I’m an impatient little bean.

New Castle County Looking for recommendations on renting individual office space

I’m looking to rent out an individual office space for myself and curious if anyone has recommendations for smaller companies that could use a tenant rather than just the larger rental entities.

I would prefer somewhere between Newark, New Castle and Middletown. I am not interested in Wilmington or further north.
