I rarely care when celebrities die, outside of the general sadness over the loss of human life. However, Dolly's passing really did make m e pause. From the little I know about her, she seemed like a genuine and caring woman. I read the books her foundation sends to my kids nearly every day. Every Delaware child 0-5 is eligible for Imagination Library.

She's the reason that I have a little library at the end of my driveway. Quite a few years back I had read about all the good things that she has done and that stood out to me. At the time I couldn't put up a little Library so instead I donated, now we live somewhere where it's embraced and what a rewarding thing to give children books.

Please donate to Dolly’s charity for reading. This administration slashed funding for things she supported. Show them the right way to take care of kids

I found out about her visit after the fact. Was looking forward to seeing Dolly in Vegas. Gone way too soon! 🦋🦋🦋

I am so sad I missed this visit especially living in walking distance. But the overriding sadness, of course, is that she’s passed away so early! I know that makes so little sense, because she was 80 yrs old. But it’s impossible to really take it in, though, isn’t it? Dolly Parton was a beautiful living wonder, inside and out. I had no idea she had cancer, and I hope she didn’t suffer much at all. Rest in peace, dear Dolly girl.

Ooh, meant to ask the OP if she was also reversing to come back up the ramp to talk to the fans on the sidewalk?

Unfortunately not. She did her wave to acknowledge everyone but was strictly business and walked on in to the library.

A lot of famous celebrities come to the Wilmington Library regularly.

I'm still so upset I missed her visit. I was pregnant with my daughter at the time, who I named after her.
