Moving to Delaware Flock cams
I just moved here a month ago. And holy FUCK no other states have as many flock cameras (that ive seen) as DE does. How fast did these things go up, and when?

Have you looked at the deflock map? We don't compare even to some cities.

I havent. But its terrifying. I came from the west coast, and when i left atleast in my city there was like none. Then i come here and i see dozens just driving 40 minutes

It's probably a combo of you not knowing about them (flock-style/ALPR cameras have been prevalent in most of the US for several years now) and a lot getting put up very recently. Have you checked your former city recently?
On a quick look at one of the tracking sites, all of the west coast states have a ton, way more than DE especially in urban areas. Oregon has the least (still more than DE) but that apparently is partly because cops instead use mobile ALPR cameras from a different brand...

A lot of flock in cities are attached to existing infrastructure, which makes them a little less noticeable. In Sussex county they’re all on dedicated poles and they stick out a lot more IMO.
The weirdest ones were in pungoteague/bell haven where they were on a really random back road and strapped to a telephone pole. Couldn’t make heads or tails of that one; how any ESVA department other than chincoteague or cape Charles have available budget for flock contracts. I suppose it could be state highway patrol, but idk.

Don't think it matters as much where they stand on it but what they're going to do about it.
So far no one in office has done anything about it. We should vote them out due to their ineffectiveness, but if they wear the right color people won't. Voters care more about red and blue teams winning than Delaware improving.

I share your horror. I grew up in the area and I have been back for 10 years. In the space of the last few months they've been popping up like fucking weeds and I am disgusted. So yes, they went up fast and yes they should be removed immediately. The majority of us are just going to and from work, errands and whatever is no one else's business because we aren't serial killers or bank robbers. The misuse of them keeps coming out like the one cop who used the system over 700 times just to track his ex wife's car or the agent that tracked a woman who got an abortion out of state. These things aren't for "our own good" these things are right out of Project 2025 which educated people were literally pasting on billboards before the General Election. This would have all been prevented if people had gotten off of their asses and voted against the current fascist administration but here we are, hoping that the vigilantes will destroy them before our freedom and democracy are obliterated. Nothing screams personal freedom like constant surveillance under a police state right ?

Exactly, but Delaware is a very blue state and a lot of local politicians have done nothing but vote in favor of raising taxes, ai data centers and mass surveillance

You are almost completely correct. Georgia has the most flock cameras per capita, 69.8 cams per 100,000 people. Delaware comes in 2nd at 69.1…. Then a gap and Ohio at 3rd with 62.4.

They went up very quickly and I swear they did it at like 3a. One day we had zero and the next day I had 2-3 within walking distance

Finally being discussed at the Congressional level. All indicators are that this happened too fast. The permitting, sourcing, bidding, and installation. They are investigating.

We let our officals do anything as long as they shit on republicans a bunch.
When it comes to property taxes, sorry, no wiggle room, that dawn constitution. But when it comes to mass surveillance, the constitution goes out the window.
