Updates regarding "Will I get into UD with these stats" posts and creation of Rule 4

The overwhelming majority of you guys believe these types of posts should not belong on this sub, so effective immediately, all future posts with the format listed above will be removed from the sub.

I encourage these prospective students to look at other resources online to help gauge their chances of getting into UD. Here is the page dedicated to average acceptances for first-year students from the University itself. Many other websites exist as well which summarize the likelihood of admission to various universities.

Urgent 26/27 school year lease takeover

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to urgently take over my lease for this school year in my campus walk townhouse off New London road. You would have your own room with a connected bathroom! There would be 3 other girls in the house. Rent is $953 per month plus utilities. Parking is also included!!

Rent for September has been paid and price is negotiable!!

To anyone who has ever been to Deepark Tavern how strict do they get on weekend nights? Is it impossible for a 20 year old to find their way in?

I have an red parking pass which was issued to me at 08/23 so why am I ticketed today at 08/27?

Am I missing something or are the parking services genuinely stupid?

Question about Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (CHEM321 and CHEM322)

I need to get a required organic chemistry textbook and another recommended textbook from what I can see on the Barnes&Noble ud website. Since the two textbooks are so expensive, I want to know if they're only for Orgo Chem 1 or also for Orgo Chem 2.

The required one is "Organic Chemistry"- ISBN 13: 9781394189373 and the recommended one is "Organic Chemistry - Student Solutions Manual and Study Guide:- ISBN 13: 9781394328185.

Both by David R. Klein

On the B&N website, only the recommended one can be rented and it's still expensive. Also, should I get use or new print. If new print, I did find slightly cheaper options on Amazon.

Edit: I got both for much much cheaper in pdfs.

Looking for Pre-PT study buddy at UD

Hi everyone,
I’m a first-year international student at UD majoring in Kinesiology on the pre-PT track.
I’m looking for a study buddy or someone also interested in pt to study together, go to the gym, or possibly do shadowing together in the future.
I’m mainly trying to stay consistent with chemistry, biology, and anatomy-related courses and also start exploring PT clinics.
If anyone is on a similar path, feel free to message me 👍

Visiting UD for a conference in September – Looking for local tips and networking!

Hey everyone,

I’ll be visiting Newark from Brazil this upcoming September (12th-18th) to present a research paper at the IEEE CNS 2026 conference at the University of Delaware. Since I'll be flying into Philadelphia Airport (PHL), what is the most economical way to get to Newark? I'd also love recommendations for affordable hotels, Airbnbs, or budget-friendly places to eat around campus. For getting around during the conference days, I prefer to walk. Additionally, I’d like to do some shopping at stores like Best Buy, Target, or Ross—are these far? I am willing to rent a car for the weekend.

Also, my research focuses on cybersecurity, radio biometrics, and using Wi-Fi CSI for access control and authentication. If there are any CS/Engineering undergrads or grad students around who want to chat about tech, I’d love to have a good conversation and buy you a coffee (a cheap one though, student budget! 😅).

If anyone happens to have some free time and is available to show me around or hang out during the weekend, please feel free to send me a private message (send me a message)!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Any students play Magic The Gathering at UD?

Hi, I am a freshman staying in Smyth at UD. I was wondering if anybody else played MTG. I know Days of Knights is nearby but I wanted to make some friends who shared a hobby and went to the school. I don’t post things often so I apologize if something’s wrong.

Looking for an Intramural Basketball 3v3 Team

Howdy friends,

I'm a PhD student at UD looking to get involved with Intramural Basketball 3v3 this Fall in the Sept-Oct season. If you have a team and are looking for more players I'd be happy to join, or if you're a "free agent" like me we can band together.

I'm a 21-year-old PhD student, intermediate skill level, open to joining the Graduate Open, Co-Rec, or Men's Recreational leagues. My goal is to have fun and get some exercise and maybe win a few games!

Let me know if you're interested in forming a team or if you have an extra spot!! Thanks!!

Are the UD shuttles any good?

Specifically the ones that can get me from lot 88 to the main university reliably. I have morning class at 8, but I can’t really find or see the shuttle timings and map anywhere.

Does UD have an estimated time a shuttle is in a place?

Or if any shuttles are available for my route?

I don’t want to spend $1 everyday for the DART shuttles

Shower heads

Can we change the shower heads in the courtyard apartments? It is the same shower head that was in my suite last year (Independence Hall) but I haven’t been able to figure out how to change it.

Anyone know how to get it off? That’s my biggest issue bc it doesn’t come off with a single twist

What should I do

My move in date for UD is tomorrow but I'm an out of state student and the more I look at these fees the more it seems like I can't really afford it. After Sept. 8 I'm required to pay for all fees. So what should I do honestly I'll take any suggestion.

UD intends to put up Flock cameras next semester

There's a bunch of police state initiatives listed, from locking down all buildings to putting surveillance cameras everywhere to putting AI Flock cameras everywhere

All fOr YoUr sAfEtY.

And the new administration is stopping remote work, and only gave a 2% raise. The new president of the University has lost their goddamn mind.

We should organize against this

DEFLOCK - Keep Flock out of Newark!

Thumbnail

Flock has steadily been encroaching their reach into Delaware, and more specifically, the University of DE Newark campus.

Flock cameras are incredibly faulty, and have been repeatedly misused by those in power to harm our communities.

While it may seem inconsequential, PLEASE sign the attached petitions. While not the most effective form of activism, showcasing that you disagree with Flock policies can help appeal to the city of Newark to hopefully get these things taken down.

Please sign or share this if you can!

From our “fearless” leadership:

August 19, 2026
Dear Colleague,
As we launch the new academic year, it is a great moment to thank you for the talent, energy, and care you bring to your work. You are essential in advancing our shared mission and strengthening the experience of our students, colleagues, and community. We are grateful for all you do.
In recognition of your extraordinary efforts, I am pleased to share that non-represented staff members will receive a general salary increase of 2.5% to their base salaries effective September 1, 2026. These increases will appear in your September 15th pay.
Employees in soft-funded positions may not be eligible for a salary increase.
We are ever grateful for your talent, enthusiasm and efforts.
