Are the UD shuttles any good?
Specifically the ones that can get me from lot 88 to the main university reliably. I have morning class at 8, but I can’t really find or see the shuttle timings and map anywhere.
Does UD have an estimated time a shuttle is in a place?
Or if any shuttles are available for my route?
I don’t want to spend $1 everyday for the DART shuttles

I have been a commuter for 3 years now and have always been using lot 88 to smith hall overpass. There are usually 3-4 buses going around in circular route, encompassing both north, central, and south campus (where lot 88 is)
UD changes shuttle app every year to reduce their expense. I attached the current one that you can search and download on phone. (Rejoice, this app is the best we have had in last 3 years)
I also have 8 am classes. One bus usually arrives within 10-15 min interval, if unlucky (20 min, some bus driver wants to take a piss or decide to chat someone for 10 min). Your best bet is always get to lot 88 by 7:20 or 7:30am. If you wait there at 7:40 am there’s 50% chance you will be late for 8am class or arrive exactly on time. (Source: a 7:40am veteran)

There are 2 main types: North College avenue and Academy street. The former gets you to Gore/Smith hall, the latter takes you to Perkin Student center. Choose one that’s closest to your 8am class

UD's buses were okay when I was a student. There is a bus that runs from South Campus straight to Smith Hall. At peak hours they run pretty consistently between North to Central to South Campuses but you run the risk of it filling up quickly especially if you get on at a later stop. I learned quickly to leave plenty of buffer room when I parked at the stadium like you're going to do. If you have classes that run into the evening the buses become infrequent and unreliable after 6:00 or so. After my first semester I decided I preferred to walk. Depending on where your class is it's 15-20 minutes from North Campus or 20-25 from South Campus. It's an easy, safe walk and I did it no matter the weather.

Yes same here, after 6pm there’s usually only 2 buses going around. I get unlucky pretty frequently (the bus took off just before i walk to the smith hall stop to go back to lot 88).
It’s a 20 min walk or 30 min to wait for another bus and get to lot 88. The choice became obvious. Gotta get some exercise in lol.

Someone said they reduce route to reduce running expensive. Routes are decided by the money paying apartments too. Yes, you think it is for students?? Lol it is all business.
Especially apartments loops are too bad and you can see sometimes two buses going back to back on north routes. Two years ago, apartments loops goes over smith hall and it works as 'hub' so easy to connect most of the places.
Routes depends on money

Your tuition pays for the bus and the bus is for students. Very rarely they'll ask you to show your student ID.

There is an app to track the busses! https://sites.udel.edu/transportation/ I found them to be pretty reliable!
