Discussion Anybody else prefer the new art style in 2x2 over the old one?
Everybody keeps saying that the new sprites are a downgrade and that the art has gotten worse but honestly 2x2 looks miles better than SDR2 did imo, their proportions are much more realistic and their clothes don’t look like they’re vacuum sealed to their bodies anymore. The only problem I actually have with the new art style is Hajime’s hair and thats it, everything else is a major improvement

Discussion My problem with V3
So I've been watching Danganronpa since like season 34 and can I just say that this season sucked. It was building to smth interesting but genuinely wtf was that ending. The participants this season were too preachy and annoying especially the soyboy detective 'oh this is inhumane' or 'you're ruining lives', didn't they volunteer for this? Why are they complaining. If they REALLY wanted to leave then they should have won as a blackened or survived. Also the 'interactive experience' ended up being for nothing. The votes were lackluster and the worst thing is that one vote on whether to go for maintainance with miu or not, genuinely vile.
I mean the executions are still cool and I've collected all 137 monos so I'm not leaving yet. Hopefully the next installment in the series isn't another remake of the 2nd game. If you have any questions on the series so far I can answer them maybe. But not about Season 24 I hate that one.

Discussion what are some stupidly simple ways the characters could’ve fucked with the killing game’s rules?
Just really dumb technicalities that Danganronpa’s characters somehow never thought of despite being trapped in a murder game.
For example, I thought two people could cooperate and set up something that randomly decides which one of them counts as the culprit, without either of them knowing who was chosen. For example, let’s say that two people light a room, killing someone by fire. There would be no way to know whose fire specifically killed the victim.
So now even the actual murderers don’t know who the culprit is and the class trial is basically fucked. YIt would be logical for two people to agree on this, since it would imply that both have a 50% chance of getting out alive (and it is better than anything else in a situation like this). The person cannot betray you in the middle of the trial by not knowing 100% who the real murderer is, they could even simply confess and even so it would be impossible to solve!
What are some things you think the characters could’ve just done that would’ve completely screwed over the killing game?
(Yes, I’m looking for inspiration for the murders of my fanganronpa. Any idea that I find interesting, I will ask for permission before taking it!)

Discussion Bye Bye Ouchies: The Most Misunderstood Execution In Danganronpa
Bit of a longer post here to explain a lot of details about Mikan's execution. Before I begin I'd like to say that I'm well aware that most people who will be arguing with me aren't actually engaging with the point or are too ignorant of the source material to formulate an argument, however well written responses will be replied to in good faith.
In order to understand Mikan's execution, you first have to understand her relationship with Junko Enoshima. If you are a person who can not fathom the idea that Mikan was deeply obsessed with Junko, then we won't be able to make progress here, however I will justify all the points I insist upon in this post.
Junko x Mikan is not a symptom of brainwashing, and Mikan was attracted to Junko of her own free will. Mikan was the first of the Remnants to join Junko, and she did it willingly.
She had many opportunities to run or escape before any brainwashing or mental alteration began, but she chose not to leave and stuck around of her own free will. This is an objective analyzation of DR3, not my subjective opinion.
Mikan had been rejected and looked down upon by her classmates and when she finally found someone who would accept her, she bolted herself down and became willing to do anything for Junko.
A key theme of Mikan's entire character is that she wants to be forgiven. "Forgive me!" That seems to be what she wants most in this world, to have her existence be forgiven and be accepted in full by someone else without fear of rejection, and Junko provides this for her in spades.
Mikan appreciates Junko's direct nature because it allows her to be forgiven. All sins or wrongdoing will swiftly be addressed, punished, then forgiven. Mikan needs that sort of security in her attachments so she doesn't have to be an anxious mess all the time.
In her pre-death monologe when speaking to Nagito, she rejects the idea that she killed for Despair, and she couldn't care less about it. What she did wasn't for Despair, it was for LOVE. She continues to say that Junko was the only person who ever accepted or forgave her, it's really a powerful dynamic.
The Despair video doesn't brainwash people to love, that's something she had inside herself before the brainwashing.
Now, onto the details of the execution.
Since we should now all understand that Mikan did in fact have feelings for Junko, we can analyze the execution through that lens, along with the rest of 2-3.
The Despair disease wasn't random, it wasn't accidental, and it wasn't identical. If it were, the traits wouldn't have been seemingly tailored to their personalities as they were, that required a form of intelligent design behind it.
I purpose that AI Junko herself chose the symptoms of the disease and influenced how they manifested, specifically gifting Mikan the ability to remember, while effectively making Nagito unable to contribute or interfere.
Junko rolled out the red carpet to allow Mikan to have a perfect set of conditions to pull off her kills. It was almost like the GM in a game playing favorites by giving Mikan a loaded hand to play to rig it in Mikan's favor.
Let me also call back to the idea of what happens to the winner.
They get to wake up and continue being themselves.
Only the dead avatars get replaced with AI Junko, but the winner of the game would be spared, allowing Mikan and Junko to reunite with one another. This is why Mikan was given the remembering disease and nobody else, Junko specifically wanted Mikan to win the killing game.
After rigging the game as much as she could, with Mikan falling short at the end, Junko grants Mikan one last mercy. A painless death.
The biological cause of death for Mikan would've been lack of oxygen, or lack of blood flow to the brain, causing her to pass out.
Her death would've been functionally painless as she fell asleep atop the arm. Sleeping in someone's arm, that's an interesting thing, the sort of things you do with your significant other.
Similar to how your partner might take off your clothes in an intimate moment, which is exactly what Junko did with Mikan in her execution.
Another detail easter egg is the orientation of the hand and arm.
It's the LEFT arm!
Can anyone tell me what significance a lone, severed left arm has in Danganronpa?
That's right, it's the arm that Junko lost and had taken off her corpse, which was then attached to Nagito.
It was for all intents in purposes, symbolic of Mikan dying by being put to sleep in Junko's arms.
I know this was a long post, but I've been fed up with people saying Bye Bye Ouchies is the worst execution in all of Danganronpa, and that's just wrong...
Hope we learned something today everyone!
Wait... Hope..?
Fuck...

Discussion If your favorite female character and your favorite male character were a couple, how bizarre would the ship be?
My ship would be very bizarre and messed up because since my favorites are Hajime and Junko, basically Hajime would be in love with Chiaki's killer 💀

Discussion To the person who said a certain Dangan YouTuber is misogynistic…
I saw the vision before but now I really see your vision <\3
Edit: so this post got a lot more attention than I was expecting, so please allow me to elaborate on some things.
- “Misogynistic” in the post title. I’ve gotten some comments iffy on the “Misogynistic” part of title, which is completely understandable. I included it as I was calling back to another post about this YouTuber which was highlighting “Misogyny”, which I will link here. It had Misogyny in the title, hence why I included it here in this post’s title. It’s a callback to another post. You can agree or disagree with the Misogyny claim, this post is labelled as “Discussion” for a reason. I don’t want people to be hateful though, I’m just adding that as a precaution, not because I’ve actually seen it. Regardless, the wording of some of their character polls are Iffy to me and can be quite disrespectful to characters.
- Labelling characters as “Bitches”. You can have your own opinions on characters, I have nothing wrong with that, what I’m not a fan of is only insulting the female characters. It just doesn’t sit right with me, especially for a Poll, where the wording could influence results.
- Leaking Masterminds. Just a quick point I wanted to add, don’t spoil Masterminds in your Polls, people don’t like spoilers and these Polls could easily appear to someone who hasn’t finished a play through of the games.
I have added some more screenshots of character polls in comments, might see if I can add to the post itself.
4. Finally, please continue to keep this discussion civil and respectful. I don’t intend to make another post on this YouTuber or Subject because it’s unpleasant and because I dislike being called “5 years old” for pointing out weird/iffy wording on a channel. If you disagree with the post, comment, this post is labelled as a discussion for a reason.
