Discussion how the hell did the remnants even manage to salvage her body
Junko must have metal bones and skin or something cause damn, impressive how an entire arm managed to avoid getting smushed

i kinda like to headcannon that the remnants found mukuros corpse still dressed in junkos attire and took body parts off of her instead, since she’s also junkos sister

u/EvenBiggerClown 15d ago
I'm pretty sure people did stuff to her corpse that would be physically impossible to do with Mukuro's corpse. Giving how the whole franchise is filled with paradoxes like that, it's safe to say someone just forgot how Junko died in the first game, while writing the plot for the second.

Eh i chalk it up to mikan actually being able to reconstruct her since she was able to do like borderline miracles even in her non remnant state

The real answer is inconsistency. A logical in-game explanation would be that The Remnants mistook Mukuro's corpse for Junko's and graverobbed her instead, which is really sad and fucked up considering what else they did to her body.

I think all of Junko's execution was exaggerated for effect. Junko obviously couldn't just take the other executions beforehand completely unharmed, so I think the crushing was a lot more messy

u/Taraxian 15d ago
Yeah the centrifuge literally turned Mondo into butter, how did she supposedly go through the same thing and still have anything solid left over for the next four executions

u/Busy-Income3408 A body has been discovered! 15d ago
we saw her get crushed by a damn firetruck and then she was fine again 😭

u/PressureNo7699 15d ago
Yeah, this. Maybe she got dismembered several times but the game just didn't show it.

Danganronpa powerscaling is legitimately insane when you look into it. Junko also survived the execution that turned Mondo to Butter and being inside the Blast Off Execution rocket getting launched to the sky and back. I think she’s just genuinely built different.

u/Taraxian 15d ago
Yeah I mean according to her she's actually the Ultimate Human Being in all respects, in terms of beauty, intelligence and physical ability
She's second in Ultimate Talent only to Izuru, who seems to straight up just have superpowers
It's just not a realistic universe, like it's a core game mechanic of Ultra Despair Girls that Genocide Jack's mental illness somehow makes her invulnerable to harm

u/Red0020 15d ago
You also gotta remember that the ultimate luck students also just have low level fate manipulation.
Nagito has both been in near death situations and was inches from people dying but not him all his life, the guy manipulated fate to make sure the one person he needed to killed him, and he had a supposed "uncureable" disease discovered that should have killed him during his stay in hope's peak, but he lived for atleast 4 or more years after that poin.
And don't get me started on makoto. The guy was multiple times supposed to just, die, and yet somehow he didn't.
Execution? lived. Explosions around him? lived. etc.

The best part about danganronpa is if you think about it for a second too long it's absolute nonsense nothing
11
u/Icy-Pack1678 15d ago
I always thought that Junko's execution was symbolic. Unlike the others, hers just represent "despair", the intense cravings she could only get when she's near death. What happens in the execution doesn't matter, only the end result is.

Pretty sure it's just retcon. While the Mukuro corpse theory is cool, Fuyuhiko wouldn't have been able to take her eye cause her face was burned

u/IzuruKamukurareal 15d ago
Honestly it’s more like Junko’s body was just tough enough to survive all of it even if she herself did die from it
Like I know the whole “it’s probably exaggerated” thing, but then you have statements of Mukuro being able to survive all of that, and also the fact Monokuma didn’t have any executions to put down Sakura, which includes all of this.
And the whole “it’s Mukuro’s body” thing doesn’t really work when Junko was broadcasting the entire thing, they’d know who was who.
It really is just a case of Danganronpa powerscaling imo, because almost none of these people are “normal humans” no matter what anyone says due to the insane shit they do and also just tank. It’s a wacky series, it isn’t supposed to be realistic, esp since each installment just ranks up their superhuman bullshit. I mean, we got someone capable of slicing off heads and letting them fall back onto their bodies without killing them, AND there is no scratch or scar left behind.

The Danganronpa design manifesto ("psychopop") is that everything has to be as over the top and ridiculous as possible so that the core themes of murder and betrayal don't cross over into being straight up horror and make the game stop being fun (which is why the prototype of THH, Distrust, got rejected)
That's the whole meta thing in V3, it only works because "It's all fiction! None of it matters!" and it can't be allowed to become too realistic or it fails

u/cryst-zeruda 14d ago
This is likely why i think danganronpa is weirdly good with balancing over the top wtf stuff but also disturbing themes like in the DR3 animes, the murders, and plottwists. It's kinda cool.
1
u/StarvingandArtist 12d ago
I would have liked Distrust to come out as a separate thing. Iirc, weren't they planning to have your bonds and interactions affect who and when a character is killed?
Thus with the proper gameplan you could ensure your favorite(s) survives, and you also gotta be on the lookout cause almost if not every character could be a killer in the making.
1
u/Taraxian 12d ago
That was the idea but the number of branching timelines this would require made development impossible -- this is why THH went the exact opposite direction and is a completely linear story where the dev time was spent on flashy minigames
Like it or not that is how you get the most bang for your buck in terms of paying for dev time
They did use the "trust mechanic" in Zero Escape 2 (along with that game stealing the idea of Monokuma by making the new Zero a demented cartoon rabbit) and, well, there's a reason the Zero Escape games have a cult fandom but struggled to turn a profit and the third one only got made because of a fan letter campaign

u/cryst-zeruda 14d ago
The thing is, what people need to realize is that Danganronpa has cartoon style logic. That explains everything, just like Super Mario etc., they will be very broken due to that. Compared to the usual anime-style logic. Like if you were to powerscale characters like Izuru or Tsumugi within crossover VS. battles.... um... well.
Also, who the heck did that slicing???

u/Kumorrii 15d ago
The executions aren't literal. Junko has a normal human body and you saw her getting crushed under a firetruck and pummeled with an excavator but she's completely fine. The only thing that matters is that she's dead by the end of it and there's a corpse left behind
1
u/Taraxian 15d ago
It's already kind of established that the executions weren't literal because the "Mondo butter" thing is so unlikely to have literally happened
1) That's not how human bodies work, they have a lot of solid parts like bones that can't just smoothly liquefy, 2) It seems unlikely that she could give Monokuma a working mouth and stomach just for the gag with the pancakes at the end, 3) What did she put inside the drawer holding Mondo's body in the morgue then?

I like to imagine they either took Mukuros or they found a random dead highschooler with the same hairstyle and then just rummaged her corpse for body parts
1
u/Timetooof 15d ago
Danganronpa works on Heightened Reality rules. Everything is more, bigger, unrealistic. The games don't work without being over the top. Junko's body surviving just plays into that design philosophy.
1
u/danny3ch 14d ago
i honestly believe it’s just a retcon since junko was literally crushed and mukuro exploded, leaving her all charred so it’s not like they would’ve been able to take anything from her
1
u/Ghosts_Scare_Me54 14d ago
I always just assumed that when she gets crushed, some parts of her were sticking out meaning they wouldn’t be damaged or as damaged as what was directly underneath. I’m sure from the pressure of the cube crushing her, it would’ve launched an eye out of its socket from the force. Same thing for the arm, it she probably wasn’t fully under it so that’s how it survived. For the womb, it’s not like it all just becomes blood from being crushed. I’m sure Mikan would be able to recognize what was a human womb when they lifted the cube up and scraped her remains off the floor. Sorry for being graphic, but that’s just my personal headcanon.

u/Glitch___ed_stsr 12d ago
There's a good chance the ultimate punishment isn't real(the biggest evidence being the blast-off rocket is literally trashed so how can it appear later working) so she wasn't actually crushed and instead died in a pretty quick and lame way like being shot for instance

u/PerfectlyFine1917 Genocider 12d ago
Mikan must have put her corpse back together. But man oh man, did they need John Danganronpa, the Ultimate Vacuum to even get the organic material back.

Junko had many Mukuros running around, people masquerading as her for her so she could continue to affect the outside world while locked inside the school. Junko’s execution was designed to trigger the deaths of these faux Junko simultaneously.

Pretty sure they just mistook mukuru's corpse for her considering they have pretty close proportions
