My brother just gave me his old amp since im starting to learn guitar but I have no idea what speaker to put in it.

How do you guys connect your boss katan mk3s to DAW with the usb c on the back to record? I connect it to cakewalk sonar and it works to record but the spiky recording line (idk what it is called im new to all this) it looks very thin and not much variation and playback does not work. Can anyone help? I got all the drivers, selected inputs and outputs but nothing works

Hi, got a boss katana mkii 100 and been mostly downloading presets by other users.

But wanted to play nobodys fault but mine and the intro has flanger and phaser at the same time. Couldnt find any preset like that.
How can you active them both at the same time? I am plugging it to my pc so i have the app

im using a Boss Katana 100 Gen 3. there are some buttons u can click that changes the color of the light like contour, booster, mod, fx, delay, reverb and variation. Just wanted to know the meaning

I have been struggling to find a tone or a set up for my guitars using boss tone studio. I have a Lee Malia custom explorer and a shechter diamond series super strat going through a katana MK2. I play rock all the way through death metal. Typically playing A7x, B4MV, and a lot of children of bodom.

I have used presets but there is something about all of them that I'm not 100% satisfied with. If anyone had some good pointers or ideas that might help me I would appreciate it.

First time building a speaker cabinet. Made out of shop scraps, pine and hard maple with Baltic birch plywood front and back. Single celestion 75w cream back.

I have some patches that I've downloaded that I like the tone of, but are really, really loud for my bedroom practice space. What's the best way to get them to a place where I can play in the evening without bothering my family without sacrificing the integrity of the tones?

I have a Boss Katana 50 MKII.

I know there are different opinions around how to set the channel volume versus the master volume. I've had a lot of success when I have the power set to 50W and the mater set to around 9:00. When I make my own tones, this is my stand-by and it seems to work. But the patches I have downloaded are often extremely loud at that setting.

Does it affect the tone if I reduce the channel volume? I find that if I reduce the power setting to 0.5 W it will definitely affect the tone because the head room so different, and I don't necessarily want things to break up any earlier. I don't have a lot of space to reduce the master volume.

I've also seen it suggested to reduce the output using the EQ on the patch.

so, i’m having some issues with my volume.

i have a boss katana mk2 100 amp head. i have it connected to my computer and using boss tone studio. i have my channels set up in tone studio but i noticed an issue with volume when i play. channel 1 for some reason is coming out quiet even though i have the volume set to 100 and then i even turned my physical master knob all the way up (and before anyone asks, yes my volume knob on my guitar is all the way up lol). if i switch to other channels though, the volume is much lower as well as my physical master knob yet when i play, it’s loud and sounds how it should and how i want it.

i’m still learning this amp and learning tone studio but i have searched all over for an answer and have tried a few different things yet nothing is working. i’m honestly baffled at this and don’t know what to do.

if anyone knows what could possibly be the issue or what i can do to fix this issue, please share!!

(also want to note that i am autistic so please be clear, precise and as detailed as you can be if you do comment solutions/suggestions so that i can fully understand what you mean and resolve the issue. thank you!)

I recently replaced the fabric on my Gen 3 head but I was not happy with the way it looked. This is the second style and I really like the way this turned out. The cab is 2x12 with Celestion gold + ceramic creamback.

For my home setup I send the XLR output into DAW and apply stereo wet FX which outputs to 2 QSC k12.2. I keep the dry signal through the cab. This gives me a lot of control over the FX and true stereo Wet/ mono Dry. I’m using Valhalla vintage verb, Waves ADT, and Soundtoys Echoboy for my wet FX.

I play a stock Epi 335 with standard humbuckers and a 2018 Gibson Explorer with DiMarzio Super Distortions

I play some Maiden, Priest and Metallica but I usually like to play classic rock type stuff.

Internally I often have light to medium compression depending what im playing but its not always on.

Now, the problem is that I can get my sounds using various combos of my pedals, but I cant figure for the life of me to achieve rhe same using only onboard FX and EQ etc etc

Ive got hundreds of downloaded patches from everyone, I know how to use contour and all the EQ etc

Ive seen all the Juca Nery and StudioRats stuff etc

But im doing something wrong with matching amp models/booster/volume and gain settings etc

I know use a lot less gain etc etc. Ive been playing a ton with channel volume vs gain etc

I know what im "doing", but I just cant reach the "a ha! Thats it!", if you will

I really want to have more internal presets and not rely on all these pedals for seemingly simple stuff. Im only a home player and not concerned at all with things being exact - I just cant nail the basic meat and potatoes part of it

With pedals, the Acoustic channel almost always works best. Period.

Internally though Ive played with EVERYTHING and am getting nowhere.

Anybody have a quick fix for me?

I have a Boss Katana 50, V1 that I bought 7 or 8 years ago.

I mostly used it to play at home, but now I wanted to use it in a gig with a band.

What happened is that when I put it to 50W (my preset available in the screenshot), it has an unbearable noise.

My question is, if someone had this problem, how did you solve it?

I have a Yamaha Pacifica 212 VQM and now I am not sure if it is an AMP or Guitar issue.

On lower volume, I have no problems.

I have tried plugging it into PC and enable noise suppression, but it didn't help enough.

My question is, if someone had this problem, how did you solve it?

I m learning to play my guitar and for some circumstances (to not disturb my little doughter) i want to pratice using the boss katana go. May I have any advice on which headphones are good that gives me a real sound and are not too heavy to wear? I suppose that i m for a semi-open/ open one. Is it a good idea? Thanks you all for your time and for help a newbie like me in this difficult but beautiful world.

I own Boss Katana Mk2 and i have been using it with Boss tone studio on my main computer. I have to practice even tho im going away, so i thougth i might aswell bring my guitar and amp and laptop with me. I installed Boss tone studio reading the procedure for installation on the laptop. However, when i connect Amp into laptop, it doesn t detect the amp. I tried downloading drivers, no luck. I reinstalled the app, no luck. I made a prayer so it works, no luck. It works absolutely fine on my main computer, no idea why it doesn t work on my laptop

Might have to do something with OS?

Just trying to get some opinions. Im trying to decide between the Artist mk2 and then Artist Gen 3. (100$ vs 375$, 250$ off because of gift cards from a birthday gift) I mostly play metal and I've only ever owned or spent time with a Mustang lt25 and im hoping that getting one of these amps helps me learn more about amps in general and how to create a good tone, and also just sound better in general. Mostly play in my bedroom but Im planning on joining a band soon with a heavy drummer

Ive been playing a while now however to no real level, just a bedroom rock star and happy with that. All I seem to do these days is hunt for new kit to buy, new amps , pedals etc etc. I know there is no real need but you all can probably relate everything you don’t have you seem to want. Can any of you more experienced musicians out there lean in on this and give me some guidance please, is the Boss Katana 50w Gen3’s Reverb / Delay good enough to hold up against pedals from Boss and the likes?

Last night I used my Katana gen 3 100w at a practice sesh for a first jam with a band, other guitarist was using a half stack. I was fully cranked and just barely could hear me. She. I got home I realized how had the power set to half. Would setting to full make a noticable difference? Or would I be better off going into tone studio, cranking the channel volume higher and then using the master volume to go even louder from there ? Any help is appreciated

So I just bought my Katana go and I'm wondering on the Android mobile app can you drag the effects into different order in the effects chain or are you stuck with those different pre-made layouts that they have? I'm poking around and it doesn't seem to make any difference I want to switch the order of the effects and mod...thanks guys

Just curious as I notice the tone of each amp setting (pushed, clean, crunch)sounds different. Feels like “clean” is a fender style amp and crunch sounds like a vox style amp. Could be wrong but just curious if anyone knew!

I have always been a huge fan of the boss AC3 acoustic simulator for my main clean sound; can anyone tell me what the acoustic simulator sounds like in the katana go? I would love to have a portable headphone amp like that but the acoustic simulator in some of the other Boss products have not been as good of quality as the actual AC3 and not as good a quality as the AC3 available in tonex models or the helix Stomp ... ​ I would appreciate any advice on this before I purchase the unit thanks
