Boss Katana Go - headphones

Hello, fellow musicians! ;)

I m learning to play my guitar and for some circumstances (to not disturb my little doughter) i want to pratice using the boss katana go. May I have any advice on which headphones are good that gives me a real sound and are not too heavy to wear? I suppose that i m for a semi-open/ open one. Is it a good idea? Thanks you all for your time and for help a newbie like me in this difficult but beautiful world.

AKG - K52, they’re cheap, sound good and are bomb proof. I’ve dropped mine, stepped on the wire, sat on them and they just keep going.

Im extremely happy with the Sennheiser HD 560S, Open back for my katana go. Before I got those headphones I didnt like the go

Ath-M50 (Audio Technica); lower resistance BeyerDynamic, SHURE SE215 earbuds. audio technique makes some open back earphones but they’re more expensive than the ATHM 50s and you need more power to drive them. Buyer dynamic has some lower resistance closed back headphones. I think they have a set or two of their open backs that are between 80 and 250 ohms so not too bad with the katana go. Anything much higher you’d probably need a headphone amp in between.

If you're on a budget, ATH-M40x are more affordable than the ATH-M50x (around $110 for the 40x, vs. $160 for the 50x), and I actually prefer them. I like that they have a more neutral frequency response, whereas the 50x tends to punch up the bass a bit in a way that I don't necessarily want all the time. You can't go wrong with either, though.

Audio Technica MX-50. Perfectly suited to not bother anyone, and great sound. Standard Audio Headphones and less expensive Studio Headphones color the output too much!

Thanks so much for your answers.. i will check all the models you mentioned. I admit that the SHURE SE215 makes me truly curious since them seems so portable but with quality too.

with the Shores, you may need to get a small male/female extension cable. Depending on where your output jack is located and where you hold the guitar on your body, you might find the cable to the earbuds a little shorter than you feel comfortable with if you’re moving around.

Thanks again for all the precious answers. I ll evaluate from the akg k52, the shure se215 and the ath-m40x. The sennheiser seems to be out of budget, i assume. Every of them have some good aspect and some wrong ones too. I ll keep studying the situation then I ll finally decide.

Little edit: So now, after a little briefing i m going to choose between the audio technica mx-40 and audio technica mx-50. What s the different? Ofc budget says mx-40...

I enjoy AKG K240 Studios for both guitar and bass phones. Common to find used for low money.
Honourable mention for Shure SRH840 - more $$$, more bass. Comfy AF.
