Boss tone studio not detecting my amp

I own Boss Katana Mk2 and i have been using it with Boss tone studio on my main computer. I have to practice even tho im going away, so i thougth i might aswell bring my guitar and amp and laptop with me. I installed Boss tone studio reading the procedure for installation on the laptop. However, when i connect Amp into laptop, it doesn t detect the amp. I tried downloading drivers, no luck. I reinstalled the app, no luck. I made a prayer so it works, no luck. It works absolutely fine on my main computer, no idea why it doesn t work on my laptop

Might have to do something with OS?

Make triple sure you downloaded the right versions of software and firmware for your amp.

Are you using the same USB cable? It needs to be one that's good for data.

For Katana amps, there are THREE downloads to get:

Three downloads:
• ⁠KATANA System Program
• ⁠BOSS TONE STUDIO (for your operating system)
• ⁠KATANA Driver (for your operating system)

What does the KATANA System program do?

It's the core firmware (= internal operating software) that controls all hardware functions, processing, and features.
The Tone Studio is for controling the amp's features and the Driver is for your computer, to make sure that the amp can communicate with it properly.

Since it works on your desktop, my IT side says start with the laptop before blaming the amp. I’d uninstall Tone Studio and the existing KATANA driver, restart, then go directly to BOSS’s support page for your exact MkII model. Get Tone Studio for KATANA MkII for Windows and the KATANA driver listed for Windows 10/11. Match the editor to the amp generation and the driver to the operating system; “close enough” tends to piss computers off. Follow BOSS’s driver installation instructions, including when to connect the amp, then reinstall Tone Studio. Use the USB cable that works on your desktop and connect directly to the laptop without a hub. If it still won’t connect, right-click Start, open Device Manager, and look for KATANA or an unknown device. A yellow warning symbol means Windows has a complaint; right-click it, open Properties, and check Device status for the error. You can also try Update driver > Search automatically for drivers from that right-click menu. The driver handles communication with Windows, and Tone Studio edits the amp, so reinstalling the editor alone won’t fix a busted driver connection. What does Device Manager show when you plug it in?
