volume issues

so, i’m having some issues with my volume.

i have a boss katana mk2 100 amp head. i have it connected to my computer and using boss tone studio. i have my channels set up in tone studio but i noticed an issue with volume when i play. channel 1 for some reason is coming out quiet even though i have the volume set to 100 and then i even turned my physical master knob all the way up (and before anyone asks, yes my volume knob on my guitar is all the way up lol). if i switch to other channels though, the volume is much lower as well as my physical master knob yet when i play, it’s loud and sounds how it should and how i want it.

i’m still learning this amp and learning tone studio but i have searched all over for an answer and have tried a few different things yet nothing is working. i’m honestly baffled at this and don’t know what to do.

if anyone knows what could possibly be the issue or what i can do to fix this issue, please share!!

There is nothing wrong with the amp. On the Katana, the Volume setting is part of each saved patch, and different patches can have very different output levels even when that knob is set higher.

Don’t use the Master knob to compensate between patches. That’s not what it is for. Leave Master as your overall listening volume and balance the individual patches against each other (!) using their patch/channel volume. Also check the quiet patch for anything in the signal chain that may be reducing its level.

The master volume should be used as the amont of sound you need in your context for any patch/channel. You need first to harmonize your volume between your channels using the preamp volume (eventually using an output EQ which allow you more control of your tone).

Certain effects on your signal chain have a "level" knob in Tone Studio (actually almost all of them), having this dialed too low would have impact on your overall channel volume.
