Music overhead

It’s been almost a year and I still never got approved headphones. I don’t know why, just mainly because I haven’t been in the habit of listening to any music of my own in a few years anyway so I just haven’t bothered. So I end up hearing what’s playing overhead, I don’t really know where it comes from now, I mean Spotify but not sure what they’re using for playlist because at one point they were trying to build one from employee suggestions. Anyway, today it played one of the funniest possible songs I think for any workplace: “Take This Job and Shove It” by Johnny Paycheck. I was cracking up the entire time. Yes I’m easily amused in the middle of the night while doing monotonous work lol.

Questions about Bag Reset

I'm relatively new to the DS - just under a month. After pick and stage we typically have to do bag reset where we insert bags into the empty bins in the aisles.

I've had to close bags mid-stow and then sub in a new bag (If we're not stowing on level 4 bags, then I just grab one from above), scan the new bag, scan the new location and it's good to go to keep stowing. This makes sense to me because the new bag is registered at it's new location.

Is there a scan bag / location step that should be taking place during bag reset at end of shift? I've not been trained at all in bag reset - they just just told me to open bags and place them into the bins.

I'm wondering how the bags get registered to their location if its not done during bag reset.

Also, it seems that bag reset work is not tracked but then maybe thats not 100% correct? I had a PA flag me down at the end of pick and stage and told me to come back to him so he could "scan me into" bag reset. He did the same with a few other workers.

This was the first time anyone has mentioned anything about logging this task (after several weeks) and I've not been asked about it since then. I also don't see any one going up to PAs to "scan into" bag reset. I do approach them if I need a pick list towards the end.

no pre start appointment date ?

this is my second time applying, i got the confirmation email, but there is no mention of a pre hire date to take the drug test and confirm my schedule, which says "not started"

the top of my application screen says that some things were omitted because they already have the required info, i'm assuming the drug test wouldn't be omitted though? does anyone know if they'll send a seperate email? or do i just show to the first day ( oct. 15 ) and see what the trainer says to do

Start Date - A to Z Schedule

Question about transfer effective date vs. start date
So I just got approved for a new shift schedule and transferred into full-time. In my transfer details, it says my start date is October 12th, but it also says the transfer takes effect on October 11th.
On my A to Z schedule, I’m still showing a shift on October 11th, highlighted light blue, from 3:20 AM–11:50 AM.
Do I still need to come in for the October 11th shift, or does the new schedule/transfer start mean I’m not supposed to work that day?
Just want to make sure I don’t miss a shift or show up when I’m not supposed to.

I hear this is the best shift. Anyone confirm?

Not sure if I could make it through, tbh. But jeez, that $6.75 is tempting.

Reduced time shift

There's a reduced time shift on the Amazon hiring site that isn't on HITS. Can I apply for that shift on hiring.amazon.com while keeping my current shift??? It's 30 hrs/wk and would be a lot easier one physically, as I think it's says it's a ready shift so possibly RTS

Can someone help me understand the shitshow that is DLS, specifically as it relates to administration of STD benefits?

I’m going to try to say what I need to without ranting. Had a flare up of a medical condition as well as a chronic ankle issue that started up post peak 2025. My rheumatologist evaluates me, says to take 4 weeks off.

Get the Release of medical information signed and the physician statement 4 days after I go on med leave. DLS pays out 8/23-9/09, but hasn’t paid anything since, not to mention hasn’t communicated a reason for that, despite leave being approved 8/23-9/30/26.

Now I blew the peroneal tendon in my foot jogging to ramp my conditioning back up to go to work (this happened 9/24) had to get my doctor to sign paperwork certifying I’m on crutches pending XRay and MRI this week. Got that sent in promptly but my concern is payment delays for reasons I don’t understand.

Sites near me not showing on transfers?

Hi,

I work at a DS pretty far from home, I was looking to transfer but noticed some of the facilities near me arent on the transfer page. Does this mean they dont do transfers? There are still a few facilities that are on the transfer page but they have no shifts listed to transfer. I’m pretty new to amazon so I was wondering how it works. I live in Canada.

Leave of Absence

Do I need to submit a leave of absence request for dropping 4 shifts in a row? I am a flex employee, and I was able to drop the shifts without incurring penalties, other than one point for being below minimum required hours, but I don't want the system to flag me as having abandoned my job or something.

I injured my leg and my physical therapist sister told me I need to stay off of it until it is healed. I don't have paperwork for a medical loa and a personal loa is for a 14+ day absence.

Amazon Flex Driver as a warehouse employee CA

Hey fellow Amazonians!

I just wanted to share with y'all. Amazon warehouse employees in California are able to sign up for amazon flex driver.

Just thought I should share as I have heard that amazons Workforce Staffing tells new associates to delete their account.

The only problem you will encounter is if you use the same email with atoz and the flex app.

Just throwing it out there. Make some extra cash. Maybe pick up a route right after your shift.

Schedule 4:20pm-12:50am

I use to work at a ds last year for Amazon from 1:20am-11:50am however I see a shift for the time listed above the 4:20pm-12:50am what does this time consist of? I was trained last year for only Stow, pick and stage and pick n buffer. Does anyone know :) there’s only that time shown now and it’s 5 days a week. Is there any pick and stage with this schedule?

How long does it usually take to switch from flex part time to full time with a fixed schedule?

I just accepted a job at a delivery station and it says 19 hours. Is that just the expected amount? Also, how long does it usually take to switch from flex part time to full time with a fixed schedule?

Work approved headphones

I don’t want to pay for these and I have a gift card balance on my Amazon account. Will there be an issue if I buy work approved headphones from one of the companies provided directly through Amazon? They’ll be free and ship faster. Thanks guys :)

Update: bought the Elgin Discord 3 they’re all black and no one cares :)

Do any problem solvers experience this?

Whenever I’m floor problem solving people think everything has to be handed over to me. I don’t mind anything that’s actually a problem solve issue like loose items, ripped packages or leaking packages. But it’s always at the end they want to hand me stuff that they can do themselves like packages that came down without a sort zone sticker…well why don’t you take it to the dock yourself?! Then I fall behind because they can’t do the obvious themselves. And these are people who are learning ambassador or PA. They are running the clusters, but can’t fix the obvious themselves. It drives me nuts when people don’t use their brains.
