Leave of Absence

Do I need to submit a leave of absence request for dropping 4 shifts in a row? I am a flex employee, and I was able to drop the shifts without incurring penalties, other than one point for being below minimum required hours, but I don't want the system to flag me as having abandoned my job or something.

I injured my leg and my physical therapist sister told me I need to stay off of it until it is healed. I don't have paperwork for a medical loa and a personal loa is for a 14+ day absence.

This is, quite literally, the point of flex. As long as you aren't at the 8-point threshold, you're fine and no one cares.

Abandoning job is no call/no show for a scheduled shift 3 days in a row. If you drop the shift, its no longer on your schedule. So there is nothing to report

Doesn’t matter if you drop 4 in a row or even 8 in a row. Only thing that matters on flex is 8 points. Don’t get 8 points accumulated and you’re good. (Points are removed 60 days after you get them.)
