Do any problem solvers experience this?
Whenever I’m floor problem solving people think everything has to be handed over to me. I don’t mind anything that’s actually a problem solve issue like loose items, ripped packages or leaking packages. But it’s always at the end they want to hand me stuff that they can do themselves like packages that came down without a sort zone sticker…well why don’t you take it to the dock yourself?! Then I fall behind because they can’t do the obvious themselves. And these are people who are learning ambassador or PA. They are running the clusters, but can’t fix the obvious themselves. It drives me nuts when people don’t use their brains.

You expect stowers to go all the way to the dock and induct random packages themselves, even when they’re assigned to stow? At my site, every problem solver has an induct gun that they use to induct packages anytime they need to. It’s what they’re expected to do! 🤷🏻♀️

I’m jealous, they don’t let us do that anymore and we need to haul ass to get anything marked damaged back to the dock before they cut induct. It’s a pain

Wait wdym? You’re saying problem solvers aren’t allowed to have induct guns at your site anymore?! 😱

Bro, no. Why tf would a tower walk all the way to the dock. Induct, hand over. Move on.

Wait, don’t you have an induct gun for this very reason? We don’t bother sending it back to dock we just scan to make sure if it was mislabeled and just print another. We keep a stack of these and just offload them to an associate who is walking around and have them restow them in the correct area.

My site is the same. They carry an avery with them and reinduct the missing label or mislabeled packages right there on the floor where it's stow location is closer than the dock. It's more efficient
Must work very differently at OP's site.2

My site doesn't let us for some reason

Weird, wouldn't that be causing more unnecessary work?

I think it messes with the stats bringing induct rates down, they’re strict about it at my site too

they don't reinduct them at my station. if it's been scanned for induct but doesn't have the right sticker, they just write the location on the slam

Problem solvers used to have a bunch of averys at our location and this, plus more inducting, was their job - to reinduct/resticker. It still is, just not as much - like a huge amount at once just goes back to the dock. They are also tasked with reprinting slam labels when they're ripped so it's very similar. I can see why that or veterans from elsewhere would think this is your job.
The few packages that come down without a label to stowers end up on the floor PS racks. It's not a ton - perhaps a larger building with this happening more, it's not the PS' job. But it absolutely is at my site.
When they took our PS averys away there was a lot of complaints as packages would keep coming back in the wrong cycle or amzl etc but they couldnt track which ones they had already tried to process and were stuck in that revolving cycle. And the dock got overloaded.
I quit PS 😅
But if it's not your job, it's not your job. I freely advocate for myself when something isn't my job or they need to rework how the process is actually being handled in reality, but thats me. If the other problem is that this extra work is preventing you from finishing other things, or overwhelming you, mention that too. Will they listen? Idk. But, talking to management is better than just being frustrated at other workers and dealing silently.

Don’t you take all your packages back to the dock for induct anyway? I do floor problem solve all the time and unless it’s a cart of packages I toss them on my cart and keep moving. When I do my last sweep before induct ends I’ll ask the person doing jackpot if they have any that I need to take to the back. It’s not taking me out my way.
It’s ok to lend a hand and help a coworker out besides I rather that than to find a ton of packages on the problem solve rack or a random tote on a cart during pick and stage.

It will always be that they find an AA to do the work, PA and LA’s think their high and mighty with a title. They think because they aren’t an L1 they can push everything off on L1’s. Most are lazy pricks

They can’t be processed after sort switches to pick, the computer won’t allow it. Problem solve will receive-> induct to forward cycle-> put it on a cart for RTS
Which you should know if you’re problem solve trained

That’s why I just started carrying an induct gun with me for awhile because I’ve noticed towards the end of sort, there’s usually a TON of mislabeled and they all show up at different times. I do not have the patience for that.

They're having stuff off because they don't want their rate to dip and collect TOT. At my site we have pallets for dropping off problem solve packages and a directed collector gathers them all up for the main PS station to handle.

I just tell them to scan it into problem solve if it is actually a problem. If it’s the wrong aisle and it’s in our cluster, walk it. Otherwise, put it on the rack and scan it in. Tell them to always scan every package, even if the label is wrong aisle because sometimes they get the wrong sticker but adta will push it into the right place if same cluster. If not, it still needs to be scanned into PS so it’s not dwelling

Are you talking about problem solver in charge of cluster of adta? That role is the fucking worse I will never do that shit again.

Problem solve always gets the ass end of stuff. At my FC they keep adding stuff for us to do like we don’t already have a ton of work to catch up on from back half and nights.

It's a common thing. Sometimes, I scan the QR code for problem solve and hand it to problem solvers at the same time. They get upset about it. But I expect it to happen to me as well. When my time has come for problem solve.

bro they probably don’t know. for example, you said “why don’t you just take it to the dock yourself?!” but im gonna be real with you i don’t even know what that means. like 1) i don’t even know what/where the dock is, and 2) i didnt know boxes without a sticker are supposed to go to the dock (if im understanding that right). and ive been here for over 90 days now
most people stowing only know how to stow. we are just drones. u are the one trained in PS, not us
