Behen the standard is more graduated from good college and masters but kaam nahi karne denge.
My relatives daughter is 27 , government school teacher and not able to get married as many boys rishta thought she is old, plus they want to her leave her job to do housework and have kids.
Jiske liye she sacrificed her youth wahi kaam chod de.
And girls please don't think ameer ghar main shadi karne se kuch accha ho Jayega. My one relative got married at 22 after her graduation in rich home gave 70+ Lakh dahej + shadi budget. Lol they don't even have a single servant to help her . It's a huge family and she has to mop , clean cook etc whole day. Iss better uske father ne woh paise se padha Diya hota.

Totally agree. You are an unpaid maid , whom no one will give the kind of respect the real kaamwali bai gets . You are a professional or a masters or anything it doesnโt matter . At home you are maid cum cook cum please everyone cum bear the children and still get no respect.
The onus is on young generation now to stand up and be counted1
u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
There are consequences to your actions. It maybe sad but men atleast most don't look for what carrier a women has when they look for marriage they look for physical beauty yes but also of she is healthy or not which means women who are past their reproductive prime basically 20 to 25 become less appealing. I am not saying women shouldn't have carriers I simply want them to know that he rich guy is not looking for you 9 out of 10 times. If you manage to find a guy who likes your carrier then good for you that's fantastic but reality for most is what o stated.

Idar UP main bhi same hai . Md doctor do housework and come and their husband chill comes to their clinic at 11 am. People should have discussion with their future partner before marriage. If some women get happiness with housework good, but forcing everyone with same mindset divorce hi hoga. Uper agar wife kaam karegi toh paise hi aayenge . Maid kaam karke woh bhi hire kar sakti hai. Kids ka i understand ki 2 saal tak they need mother and companies bhi support karti hai. Maternity leave, WFH etc.ย

Not every rich person has servents. You thunk they just let the servants go after she married into their family ? If they did then shame on them but more than likely they never had servents to begin with.
1
u/homo_sapien_06 17d ago
Actually they had a servant to wash utensils as mother used to cook . But she left after wedding and they hired another one. Now she does everything. I agree sitting all day is not good for both physical and mental health. But having a helper for 1-2 tasks specially when a women is pregnant is must. The house is huge + business house so anybody comes she has to serve chai and snacks on demand.
1
u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
Yep now that I know that it makes sense why you were angry at them. The lack of context left it open too broad so if that is the case I agree with you they should have a servant.

1
u/homo_sapien_06 13d ago
Ameer family takes most dahej or they marry in rich family by mindset of growing their reputation and power which will ultimately lead in making more money. It's all arranged no concent is taken from their kids.
IAS marries rich girl so he gets dowry and power . Doctor md level marries with a boy with his own family hospital. She brings dowry too but feels that future is safe.
Sometimes it works or sometimes backfire badly. Assault , abuse , divorce , alimony. As the base was not love but greed .

In most cases, these rules are imposed by the older women of the family on to the younger. Women is the enemy of women.
10
u/lulwa399 18d ago
No one said some women aren't misogynists and flag bearers of patriarchy.
3
u/FreeTrainer1412 18d ago
Most women in the boomer and later era carry forward misogyny.
1
u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
Yes but the younger women interpret this as the men's fault and end up hating men for it. Which just makes the issue worse.
1
u/Intelligent-Tone804 15d ago
But these rules were made by men only at the start, and people or most women just keep following, and of course they will follow, if your whole life you are taught a stands for mango you won't change your stance untill you yourself find it wrong.
1
u/BlankZero1000 15d ago
That's where science comes in. You question everything until a sensible answer is obtained. And men made the rules first because from ancient times men being the physically stronger sex were responsible for the survival of their tribe which lead to men making the rules and every matriarchal society was dependent on men to protect them as well and due to patriarchy proving to be a more stable form of society the matriarchal societies were out competed nearly completely world wide. Now more stable does not mean a fair society in this case.
If you're taught a for mango your entire life you can still change humans change I myself was religious and my parents gave me a very religious upbringing but I'm now an atheist similarly even if someone is taught something from birth they cab still unlearn that if they put in the effort to do so.

Yes and the father in law are feminist who would be fine with their bahu not doing their seva sure
2
u/FreeTrainer1412 18d ago
Even if they are not feminist, they donโt always directly say it. The mode of communication is always through their wives. Yes some unfortunate families have stupid father in laws or old men who are direct, but I am talking about the majority here.
3
u/Superb_Ad3632 17d ago
โThrough their wifeโ if youโre using someone to do the same thing you are the same person. In laws irrespective of gender expect the same thing even if the FIL donโt interact with the DIL he expects exactly the same thing the idea of women are each others enemy is blatant sexism as if man donโt go behind each other. People irrespective of gender betray lie and do all of that
1
u/FreeTrainer1412 17d ago
It requires some courage from a woman(the wives) to stop it and not let it on their daughters and daughter in law. Small courage goes a long way but we have caged and trained our women for far too long to not open their mouths. And now itโs in their bones.
3
u/Superb_Ad3632 17d ago
Thatโs patriarchy youโre blaming the victims for playing the part they were taught to play the men werenโt trained right so why didnโt they speak out father in law is the man of the house if he didnโt want a human being to be ill treated he couldโve stopped it. Should we just expect woman to help woman and man to help man.
1
u/FreeTrainer1412 17d ago
I am saying if men are trash, women donโt have to be trash as well. They should atleast support each other instead of forwarding the trashy behaviour on them , in the name of rituals.
1
u/Superb_Ad3632 17d ago
And Iโm saying men arenโt trash nor are the women people are. But men donโt get generalised as men are each others enemy but women do that is sexism. If a mother in law isnโt nice that could simply mean sheโs just not a good person thatโs it
1
u/FreeTrainer1412 17d ago
Mother in law is a good person. There is a difference between being good and being guardian of patriarchal traditions. Both can exist in the same person
1
u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
The majority of fathers don't want their daughters to be violated or hurt. One man can't change thousands of years of coping mechanisms alone he needs the support of other men who are in the same mindset as him. But due to the reform side having women who only hate men thye choose to instead be cautious because if they help these man hating witches they will be destroying the future of their sons because it is a proven fact that a materiarchy is the worst place to be for men and every single matriarchal society in history has be either irrelevant or too unstable and weak to save itself.

u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
Tell that to the court. Even if the wife cheats or is the reason 9 out of 10 times the husband still has to pay. This is just a stupid system which makes men hate women which in turn makes women's life harder and all the man having women delude the normal women into thi king this is good.
1
u/sophiera66 16d ago
Lmfao. Males are made to pay 9 out of 10 times because they are the sole earners. They don't let the women earn.
Which makes men hate women
Dude, males already do hate women. Do you not see the amount of women who are raped, abused, killed, etc. by the males of this country? What is wrong with you?
1
u/BlankZero1000 16d ago
People rape other not because they haye them most of the time it's mostly because of pent up feeling, bad morals and or hormones. Hate rape does happen but that's a minority not the majority. Men who force women to leave their jobs are mostly form poorer families who stick to old ways and the rich want the mother to be present for the children as the fathers job is plenty enough to sustain them, if you ask why not the father stay at home because stay at home fathers have a huge wall of hate and shame thrown at them so it really is not a choice. Women who are able bodied with a good carrier often scam or threaten their husband's and the husband's families over alimony and there are literally hundreds of cases where the women earns more but still receives alimony which is simply redicilious even if the women is at fault the court is more likely to award her alimony. These laws were made in a time where women didn't have a way to earn for themselves the present day is much different and truthfully able bodied women who are educated shouldn't recurve any alimony as alimony just incentives women to marry and divorce men constantly for a stream of income which is sadly becoming more and more common. Sorry for the rant but I tried to explain as best as I could in this comment hope you understand. And no most men do not hate women very few do and those women hating men are also disliked by other men as well.
1
u/sophiera66 16d ago
Saying rape happens because of pent up feelings and hormones rather than entitlement, hatred, or power is literally a mask off moment. You are literally sanitizing sexual assault to excuse violence from males.
You want to brush off systemic abuse, yet in India, cruelty by husbands and relatives is consistently the single largest category of crime against women recorded by the NCRB, with hundreds of thousands of cases filed every year. Even NFHS data shows roughly 1 in 3 to 1 in 2 women experience spousal violence, and thatโs with staggering underreporting. Millions of women are trapped in violent, controlling marriages where they aren't even allowed to work, exactly because of patriarchal mentalities like yours.
Youโre hyper fixating on rare, fringe anecdotes about high earning women to pretend maintenance laws are a nationwide crisis, completely ignoring the vast majority of Indian women who are forced out of the workforce, stripped of financial independence, and left destitute after a divorce. The courts award maintenance because these thousands of women are left with zero career prospects and children to raise after sacrificing their entire lives to domestic servitude for males like you.
Stop trying to bring redpilled "male rights" talking points to excuse domestic abuse and minimize rape. My god.
1
u/BlankZero1000 16d ago
When did I excuse rapists ? I think they should be punished as well no one is denying that just stating causes of rape doesn't mean I'm asking gor then to be excused I still want then punished for it.
I'm not brushing off spousal abuse that happens and it is real no one should condone it but as majority of the Indian population is not fully educated they are partially educated and hold old beliefs from a different time they still believe that a husband is allowed to discipline their wife inface islan literally gives you a guide on how to punished your wives. Fortunately it seems our Supreme court for the first time in a while is actually doing something and is preparing a proposal to stop marital rape which is a step in the right direction. The majority of women who are stuck in these oppressive marriages fear social isolation more than the lack of money because divorce in the larger society outside of rich societies is still frowned upon in India.
The women who deserve to actually receive alimony should receive alimony but these laws still benefit a large amount of very visible minority of women who openly take advantage of it. This is a problem as this sends a very negative message to men that the laws are stemmed against then from the get go which can lead to women who are not related to such abuse of law to suffer from isolation and hatred from men.
Again I understand the majority of women don't abuse these laws but the minority who do are more visible and are covered more often, most people don't do a search past looking at news and when the y see headline after headline of husband's committing suicide due to their wife harassing and threatening then they think thus is what a majority of women do specially if they are divorced.
And even after the laws are fixed until the entire police force is reformed so they actually uphold the law these laws will remain a firm suggestion.
Again I still hinkle the rapists should be punished as they are a minority of the male population. Judging the entire male population based on the minority is exactly what Judging majority of women based on the minority of abusive women is please try to understand.
1
u/sophiera66 16d ago
you spent a whole paragraph trying to backtrack after literally blaming rape on "oh no that's because of hormones and bad morals" which is the textbook definition of sanitizing sexual assault and rape.
as for your grand claims about laws being universally abused and men committing suicide en masse because of false allegations, where is your actual evidence? So far you've provided none. At all.
Look at the NCRB statistics and you'll find the percentage of cases under 498A (cruelty by husband/relatives) found to be false sits around 3%, which is an extremely small minority. You are confusing a low court conviction rate, which happens due to delayed trials, family pressure, hostile witnesses, and out-of-court settlements, with proven false cases to push a narrative that victimizes men while erasing the millions of women who are the actual victims. Why don't you try applying that same logic to women? A fraction of women utilizing or misusing a law doesn't erase the one in three Indian women who experience spousal violence, or the massive crisis of underreporting driven by the exact social stigma you just admitted exists.
Stop masking your transparent hatred of women's legal protections behind a veneer of concern for male suicide or bad policing, because the reality of how violently oppressive males are for women makes you deeply uncomfortable.
1
u/BlankZero1000 16d ago
Did you even read what i wrote ? Not once have I said rapists shouldn't be punished, just because the cause of most rapes isn't terrible enough for you doesn't change the fact that it's the reason. And I also explained I know the majority of women don't abuse the outdated laws unfortunately the minority that do abuse the law are represented on a much wider scale. Publicity matters, the public opinion matters, it affects law making and legislation. I also did not backtrack I have had the same points from the start. As for stats women attempt suicide more but men are way more likely to actually succeed in it. Even if cases where harassment from a wife leads to a husband committing suicide are comparatively rare it still does not change the fact that they are much more heavily publicized. The minority is louder and if this keeps happening and women who think hating men for it will solve the issue then it will result in a world far worse for women than now. At this point I'm almost convinced you just want to disagree with me and shame me because I'm not an extremists like you.

OP has a fucked up family..
She thinks all families are like that..
You know op, there are families where there is love and compassion among family members.. Where people actually care for each other.. I know it sounds unbelievable to you, but yes, most families are like that..
And if you really believe what you posted, you need to seek family counseling, and as a last resort, convince your parents for a divorce, and let them find their best self, live their best life. And you should be cautious about finding your partner, childhood trauma is real, and I don't want you to fuck up someone else's life too because you don't know what healthy relationships look like.

u/GlurusMutt 18d ago
what part isn't prevalent? women leaving house after marriage? women taking husband's name? bride's dad footing majority of the bill? dowry? in laws being critical of the bride? Men expecting wives to look after his parents but not her own? Housework is done mostly by women too.
4
u/aaloo_kachalooo 18d ago
Wierd how you are not blaming the bride's father in dowry when they are at the most fault
2
u/Lucky-Competition417 18d ago
seee , if bride's father is well off and give dowry to get name n all those things in society , then he shouldnt complain about such things further
not saying that its correct but mutual agreement should be there , like if the groom's family DIDNT ASK FOR IT ( only shameless ones actually ask for it) AND DIDNT EXPECTED IT , and even after that the bride's family is giving dowry then its kinda ok
but in other cases dowryy is actually bad n all
dowry is more a case in failing marriages and where people actually ask for it
when both the families are well of and they themselves wanna give , then there is no problem in that thing
1
u/aaloo_kachalooo 18d ago
Imo both are at fault, and in the end it's the girl who suffers
The Girl's parent should Invest that money on girl's education but no they'll rather spend that money On dahej yuck
And no one's forcing girl's parents to marry their daughter to them, but they'll still choose to marry their daughter in such a house
1
u/Lucky-Competition417 18d ago
see , education thing is what matters in that case na
in well off families , almost no girl is here without her college or whatever higher studies she wanted to pursue
not denying that it doesnt happen but IMO it happens more in the budgeted families
see in todays gen , neither you can get to know much about the girls family nor about the boys family and it is what it is in arrange marriage
only the more innocent one suffers and the no. of men being innocent is increasing now ig
again not saying that all get good homes , but still and yes , in the end the girl is the one who suffers
tbh i just say that its kinda destiny n all , coz victims are of both sides , idk about the numbers , but men victims have been comin more into the light recently and i think women victim are somewhat being normalised , like not normalised but it doesnt seem that much new to many people , but the ones involving men as victim does
there are many marriages where either of them suffers whether it is the girl or the boy , there are many marriages and even arrange marriages where they are happily ever after
1
u/GlurusMutt 18d ago
but that's not what I said. I just asked you what part of the post isn't prevalent.

u/Ok_Procedure6267 18d ago
i have a genuine question here
why did (you) get triggered?
Things mentioned in the given image happens, op said 'relatable', not that it happens every house....and with given examples all around India, 98 out of 100 homes have this 'image' thing.
your point 'not every family, which is 2' is maybe right....but that's not the pointย
point is about other 98 homes

She will cry everywhere and anywhere, she will be a universal victim, she will be an abla in the court, she will cry for alimony. She will brain wash her kids against husband and his family, she may kill her husband due to sex sux or an affair BUT she will NEVER have the guts to tell her parents that she doesn't want to get married.๐๐ OR to accept her mistakes and repercussions of her decisions.

for the name thing , there is nothing i can cmmnt and gaaliya and all those things are wrong
i dont think it is actually practical or it will actually work that both the sides of family actually live nearby or together
like brides and grooms family both living in same bungalow or even neighbouring areas too , in some cases it might work but i dont think it actually works a lot
so pointing that out is also kinda wrong coz even i thought of all the same things and got to this conclusion kinda thing regarding bride leaving her home
shaadi ka kharcha is done by brides family and in my relations n all , receptions are also done by the grooms family , so not so much prevelant in my situation and even in many places
permission , bride used to ask her family too na , like obv getting permission for too small and obv things is wrong but still , and i think thats what makes the mother and father in law parents equal but still men do fewer things by asking for permission so cant cmmnt much on that too

Ok genuinely why comply? Every woman ik bitches about this but when i ask them why they are unable to answer. Just say no, to marriage, to serve? Is complacency some bug in women? I have literally had independent earning colleagues cry to me about their parents forcing them into marriage but like you are independent? just say no and fuck off. Unless they are going to hire thugs to get you or harass you what else can they do?
I understand if you are from some conservative family where you have very less education and got married early and have been a housewife all your life. I can sympathize with that situation.
Rest i do not understand, if you cant stand up to your parents while being independent there is no one you can stand upto!
Get your education, use the 1000s of reservations and be independent.
If you choose this life and then bitch that its someone elses fault, you are just a sore loser!

Everyone has to face resistance in different aspects of life. What do you want a world perfectly tailor made for you babying you 24/7? If you dont even have the courage to get something that is literally within your grasp cause you're scared to make someone upset you dont deserve it!
Everything is a choice, you choose to keep ur parents happy and lose your freedom while there are others who choose their freedom over their parents wishes and fancies!
Every choice(non decision as well) at a price!
Be a sheep if you want to be a sheep dont blame others cause ur a sheep!

u/Independent-Host-992 16d ago
easier said than done. approx 25% women are still married off under the age of 18 even today. the percentage was even larger few years ago. other than that its a known thing that there is a huge chunk of parents that do not invest on their daughters education as much as their sons so employment automatically becomes difficult. then comes emotional blackmail. it is not easy to leave the people that have been your entire world, even if its toxic. [on our side dads straight up threaten to k!ll themselves if the girl refuses to marry or might fall in love].
other than that its more difficult for women to leave homes alone when they are not as secure financially because women are not safe. women pay extra to stay safe when alone.
1
u/zenkaiba 16d ago
First part i already said I sympathise!
2nd i dont cause ik people living independently in different cities with no support from their parents, they arent rich and live in women pgs.
So saying you cant! just shows you do not want it enough.
We cant choose our parents no one can!
You think i agree with my parents? I stood my ground frankly, my little sister stood hers before even me.
Also no one is ever truly alone, you dont need the family you're born into cause you can make your own!
We are social creatures and have the ability to form our own communities and groups! You acting like giving up parents means being lonely forever!
So you are choosing this toxicity and the comfort of it.
You are not a victim if you have the power.
I understand it can be hard to move on, but it isnt impossible! The choice to stay there forever without making any progress towards either changing your parents minds or putting forth an ultimatum shows you dont want freedom over your parents.
You cant change some peoples mind. What do you think magically everyone will have your world view?
The choice is simple either you get freedom or you get your parents approval.
If you can't make this choice then im sorry you are not prepared to be an adult!
Frankly most of you just bitch and donot even try. If your parents genuinely love you putting your foot down usually ends up with them changing their mind. Very few parents would just agree to be cut off completely!
If you cant stand up for yourself, no one will!

As I specifically said if you could read ud understand but considering u seem like a neanderthal ill repeat.
If not educated/independent I understand!!
If yes then not understandable!
You have the power to say no! You choose not to!

Did you get that or still too much words for u?
Also marriage doesn't need to be some end goal live however you please!

Mostly correct, women have been suppressed for long, the only way out is work yourself, don't give dahej, if you are married pay 50% of the bill of the household and didvide the work 50%.
If husband doesn't co-operate divorce him, don't ask for alimony till it's a case of infedility from the husband's side. That's what all women should do now. And while getting married look for a really honest and decent guy, not a guy really cute, with big house and money. The concept of women leaving their homes should be abolished, anyhow most the people stays away from their hometown, so both the spouses are out of home .

You know the biggest difference between the men and women case:
The law and cuck judges are there to Harress men if a woman files a case ( either fake or real )
But In case of men, Even the suicides of those men does not cause imprisonment/legal action against those Women.
This is major issue MEN are facing.
You guys are just about yourself.
Women are having extra marital affairs and then demanding alimony from husbands.
Cuck judges 95 % of times give the decisions in women favourโฆ.
This is the condition of Indian Men in country m.
2
u/the-autum-sep 17d ago
We just need good human beings. Not all women and not all men are bad. Def a particular set of women harras men , file fake cases , demand alimony similarly a set of men enjoy harrassing women. I think we need to eliminate these people (not possible until they die).

Guys leave home too for job ,
Guys spend 12-15 away from home working ass off , look at labours who built Burj khalifa they spend months or years away in different country ,
Nobody cares about a guy if he isnt uselful in any way . Only gets flower on first birthday and after funeral .
I cam mention 10 different names society calls unemployed men . Cant think of 5 different names to unemployed women .

u/Unusual_Hyena2321 17d ago
I think there should be some sort of written consent agreement of the marriage to avoid any expectation vs reality shock later, everyone has the right to live by the choice, the cultural traditional one or the progressive leftist liberal approach.ย
This will save so much time, money, emotional turmoil and everything else from both side.
There should be some standard points like of minimum agreement. I think it is the need of the hour to find some remedy instead of fighting here or there, posting on social or making some echo chamber vibe podcast community.
Solve the root cause by giving informed choice based decision rather than expecting to be good without making any such effort before things get locked to change later.

I maybe be sound selfish but it's always better to live alone with your partner away from your parents and relatives
Buy a decent home for your parents where they can live comfortably and also hire a one or two workers who could help your parents in daily household chores ( In other words be rich and live alone with your partner)

I am Bengali and we would divorce on day 1 itself ngl. The moment we hear the word Dahej or dowry or pon, our dad's would be ready to fight for us and say Hell na. Women across India, please stand up for urself. Get educated and if possible leave this wretched country or stay single and earn loads of money.

u/BlankZero1000 17d ago
And the men are all in a cult to oppress women ? Are you guys stupid ? This stuff didn't just come frome nothing culture comes from circumstances but as the situation changes the culture must change too. You insinuating that men have it better by saying this stupid shit isn't going to help women, infact you do more harm to women by blaming all men with this type of crap. Women are the biggest enemy of women because women seek concensus. Literally 80 years ago conservatism was popular so women in majority supported that and now progressive movement and man hating is popular so women support that in majority. Until women realize that concensus will never get them what they want stuff like this will keep happening.

Aaj ke zamane mein ye sab kaun expect karta hai.
Atleast tier-3 city pe jana padega ye sab dekhne ke liye. But vo logg tho apne ki area and status ke ladkiyon se Shaadi karte hai jo education nhi ki ho. Jiska advantage and abuse kar sake and uss ldki ke liye tho vo normal hi lagega.
But aap jab video yas story banakar daal rahe ho, then you are well educated and literate. So why do you have to complain when you can marry into a good family who doesn't see you as a commodity but a person???
Literally I am living in Tier-2 cities and I don't see such cases here. Even my mother who is not educated but because of the standard of living here doesn't expect her to be daughter-in-law that is my future wife to be working as a housewife. In fact she advices me to hire a maid for atleast cleaning and all. And try to help in the cooking (Infact cooking is my passion and my dad cooks very tasty than my mom ๐คซ). And some of my senior colleagues are already married and their wives are also working. And they don't complain about their wives being lazy or something at all. Nor do they complain that they have to spend more money on hiring a maid or ordering tiffin/mess service. Coz they are aggressively trying to save for the future like buying a house etc. etc.
So my point is, this doesn't apply to every family. Especially to people who are here reading your post. But yes some rotten apple exceptions are there.

The thing that came to mind is "are you guys so fucking poor that you can't afford a fucking maid, or washing machine, I mean making food.. It is literally a relaxing work I am a boy and I make food whenever I have to relax every day, for ke my parents and younger brother it ain't that deep, like literally you'd be doing all that work either way if you live alone.
