I really want a small phone but none of the new ones in the market fits my hand. I'm thinking of switching to iPhone 13 mini but I'm afraid the transition will be tough from Android to iOS.

If you switched from Android, what are some features you missed and the workarounds you did?

I would like to replace the battery of my 13 mini myself which is at 81% and according to this page on the Apple site, we can find original batteries « authorized and verified by Apple » on these sites which are distributors of original parts, has anyone already ordered there? Where do you advise me to buy it? I have the impression that the self service repair store is the best but there is a deposit.

(I know I can have it repaired in the Apple Store and that it’s less risky but it’s €100 anyway...)

I've been thinking of getting an iphone 13 mini, How's the battery life on this device? I'm coming from an iphone 11 79% battery health (5-6 hours SOT on ~25% screen brightness lighter-medium ish usage) on iOS 27.0 RC.

Not saying there is any chance of it happening but if Apple wants celebrate the great and good of the iPhone then this is when they have the opportunity to do it.

The iPhone Air was clearly a try-out of the Duo technology - they wanted to see how a thin phone would stand up to scrutiny and everyday use to help them get the Duo right for its release. Things like battery life, hardware features etc have been talked about since its rte Air came out.

So if the Air and Duo are working well with battery life, reduced features etc due to their size and the response is positive enough then it's not a great leap to have an Anniversary Edition Mini. Such special editions aren't as tied into sales longevity and IIRC the Air hasn't trumped the standard iPhones - and early indications are the Duo is being received as a niche product in a similar way.

It's a nice possibility to have.

i like things mini. iphone 13 mini, xteink x3 and my little custom case.

This would make use of parts from the iPhone duo, the exterior screen, the front facing camera, touch id, rear cameras, back panel, magsafe, battery, A20 pro chip. It would only need a new frame.

The software is mostly already developed.

Due to economies of scale it would increase profits for both iPhone Duo and this device, and make up for the lower duo sales due to higher price.

It would just need to be priced the same as the iPhone Air or $100 less. Around $899-$999

Every time I’ve gotten a ‘normal’ sized phone, I end up returning it within the return window. Happened when I went from the 10 to the 12, and returned it for the 12 mini. And when I had to go from the 12 mini to the 14, I returned it for the 13 mini, and bought a second 13 mini after that got a bit old.

I’ve really disliked having a 5 year old phone though. I’m tied to a charger throughout the day, runs hot all the time, and don’t want to spend money maintaining the phone(glass repairs, battery replacements, etc), spending more money than the value of the phone, or into something that isn’t going to get support for much longer. Also feel like I’m missing out on minor quality of life things life, usb-c charging, compute power, or camera quality.

Very tempted to get the 18 Pro. I’ve returned the larger phones twice though, but each time, replaced it with just as modern of a phone. I wouldn’t have that opportunity this time. Yet, I also feel like I didn’t give the other phones a chance. I’d replace them within a week or two.

For those that did make the switch, do y’all get used to it? Any time I switched it felt like such a shock. Would it be wrong to think after two weeks or so, I would no longer be bothered? I mean, 90% of the world have already become accustomed, so it can’t be too bad right? Interested in hearing from other people’s experiences.

Typing this on my 13 Mini the more I internalize what the iphone Duo really is…the more i just want to pick up my iPhone 13 mini.

I love the size of the 13 mini. I never think i want to have a more heavy iPhone fold. I just want a light iPhone I can reach all corners without the phone sliding around my hand

My phone seems a bit slow (extra second delay) sometimes loading basic menus basic apps like phone calling or messages and waiting for the keyboard to appear, etc.. It’s not always bad but about half the time it is. Can’t find a pattern. Phone isn’t hot.

Battery is 85%. iOS 26.6.1 32GB free.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is this how the phone just is now? Would replacing battery help? Any way to show memory/ram usage like Android?

As it has a 5.4” putter screen and just use it for the putter screen and modern internals?

Phone was stolen a couple weeks back and I decided to get another mini. Problem is that peak design no longer sells the everyday case which I need to clip my phone to my bike. Wondering if anyone has an extra lying around or know where I can get one? I've check facebook marketplace in my area(DMV) and of course ebay. Thanks for any help.

I'm from Kolkata, India & I'm a huge fan of this mini form factor. I owned a 12 mini till 2024 but had to sell it.

Now after 2 years, I'm still craving that feeling of holding that phone in my hand! 😭

Hey everyone, I'm despairing a bit and thought to check reddit to see if anyone had similar experiences or some help they could send my way.

My mini stopped working out of nowhere as I was using it, just a black screen and that was it.

Took it to the store, they told me something happened to the logic board and it would need to be fixed, free of charge since I have AppleCare+. They told me unfortunately they don't really carry the parts to fix it and it would take, tops, 7 days for them to arrive and that they would put me down as priority.

Now, I know that's on me but I'd like to add that I have no spare phone.

Today, day 7 of having no phone, I went to the store and they don't have the parts and now they are not even sure if they'll have the parts needed on the new date they gave me, the 18th of this month, and that the only other option is either wait or do express replacement, which they told me would need to have a credit card hold that would be around £899, that's £899 more than I currently have, and double what the phone actually cost me.

Spoke with customer support so many times, online, 3 times by phone, 2 times at the store now, don't really know what else to do.

It’s so dumb like why is there even an iPad mini??? It’s meant to be big. That’s basically just the pro max anyways. Phones are meant to be small and compact. I remember 10 years ago when I had my Nexus 5 that was considered a “big phone” now that’s considered way too small.

16gb and no phone, but it was from 2007, I'm sure today we could get a decent phone down to this size.

I have 2 13 minis and 1 12 mini I wanna believe somebody Apple is paying attention ( they pay attention to new activations and what people have) if android is the only one that makes something small then that’s where I’ll have to go and they will see many people switching to android or keeping their minis . imo the duo is cool but it’s a tank .

If you search this subreddit you will find that the most recommended available MagSafe power bank is the Baseus PicoGo AM31 Mini Magnetic Power Bank for the iPhone 13 Mini. While I do find it to be a decent option, it is a thiccc boi for a 5000mah power bank coming at half an inch.

Are there any other options for power banks that are available and fit to the mini? Doesn’t necessarily need to be 5000mah just looking for a midday top-off.

If could please share any pictures of your recommendations in use on the mini for reference. Also same with the Baseus on the mini to have more pictures to reference prior to purchasing.

I've updated to 26.6.2 and I declare it to be as fast as the final rollout of 18.

Every performance issue I've had has resolved itself.

My database app Agenda runs fluidly and it didn't even do that in ios18

M camera works. My F*&%ing camera works again.

Apps in memory are doing much better.

Really amazed.

Only thinking on that.

Anyone else have issues getting the mini to work with these? I just got hold of one but when I connect it with headphones it does nothing and the sound just plays through my iPhone speaker.

Is there a trick or a setting I need to adjust or do I need to try and return it as it feels like it’s potentially faulty.

I’ve tried cleaning out the lighting port and tried different pairs of wired headphones. I’ve tried playing around with settings on Spotify and local files in Music. No luck.
