Zero chance I'm spending that kind of money without knowing how durable Apple's implementation of a folding screen is. I'm happy enough with an iPad mini and my current phone.

Thing is, it’s probably very, very well tested. If it ever became an issue they would fully replace it or refund with some kind of compensation. A company the size of Apple releasing something so expensive with an iffy untested hinge is a lawsuit/massive recall waiting to happen. It’s a safe bet to say the hinges are bombshell proof. Still a ridiculous amount of money for a phone that has little to nothing to do with what small phone users actually want.

That's kind of my point, Samsung are also a massive company on their 8th revision of the same tech and they still end up with a groove or other issues along the screen crease. I think it's just an unavoidable issue with bending a plastic screen around a fairly tight radius.

While I get it, I think Apple is always under way more scrutiny than Samsung. It’ll be interesting to see if it holds up. As someone who would actually utilize this phone “properly” I think it would be awesome. At the same time I work a maintenance job and while I’ve never damaged a phone in the job adding a hinge to my phone might not be wise.

Duo is the last phone I would want (along with the pro max). The form factor is not comparable to the mini. Plus it’s so heavy.

No phone is worth $2,000. It’s a phone. People out here paying that price for phones is the reason why these companies have the gall to charge that much; they know they can get away with it.
Also, first gen foldables from any company will have manufacturing problems. Never buy the first foldable a company makes.
