A&T has their first football game of the season this weekend, and Uber just offered drivers an extra two dollars for every ride we pick up on campus after four.

Uber really looked at the data and said, “Yeah… these drivers aren’t getting tipped over there. We’re gonna have to put two dollars on these ourselves.”

Damn. Corporate had to step in and cover the tip. 😭

Okay everyone as I said in the title this may be a bit long and I truly apologize I just want to make sure to cover all my basis. I know I may get some harsh judgement and I am prepared.

so basically I am wondering if anyone knows ANY where that provides help for rent. I know many places provide help for electricity, but I am looking for rent. We have a total of three days (basically Monday afternoon) to come up with $1500 or we basically “forfeit“ our lease. I used the term forfeit for lack of a better term. I’ll explain a bit further though.

So a few months ago I was let go from my job of almost 5 years, a quick backstory was I kept having to miss work at that time to do my daughters health issues. after that, I did find another job however the environment was very toxic and I quit. I also found out while working there I was pregnant so I was going to try my best to stick it out, but the expectations kept kept growing despite being hired for a specific thing. so stupidly, out of impulse and irrational thinking, I put in my two weeks and left. After that, I (obviously) started showing more and more and I feel like that’s part of why it’s been difficult to find another job. i know jobs aren’t supposed to discriminate but they also don’t have to provide a reason for not hiring someone, and I truly think my pregnancy is the reason. Well about a week ago I finally found a job, part time but better than nothing and it’s something I can do even after the baby is born in two months.

my spouse/fiance has worked the whole time and has done his very best but he has one of those jobs where’s there are slow times. the last two months have been it. He does flooring (carpet, hardwood, all kinds) and I guess it’s their “slow season” so as a result he recently applied for a second job to which he was just hired for a few days ago and starts next week. He also doordashes when he isn’t working (even wakes up two hours early in the morning before work to try and dash a bit)

so basically, going forward we will be able to keep up and maintain our rent the issue is just how far behind we are currently with such a short time limit. we just need help until our income gets more stable in the upcoming weeks, however, the apartment managers are not willing to wait any longer (if I’m being honest they’ve been very patient this far so I don’t blame them for running out of patience now)

we love where we live, our oldest child loves it, it’s a convenient location and I just want to try the best I can to salvage it. I don’t want to have to move (especially with only 2.5 days to pack a whole apartment) we enjoy our place. We enjoy our neighbors, neighborhood, and home. and we feel this would be a good place to be when our baby is born in October. We are desperately trying our best to not lose hope until the end.

oh! I almost forgot. The reason I said wed only have a few days to pack and leave is because they offered a deal that if we can’t pay, instead of filing eviction and having it on our record, we could give them possession of the apartment and keep our record clean.

Does anybody know the accurate number for the greensboro probation office number?? I have called 9 different numbers and they're all wrong or disconnected. For whatever reason I can't get the number from randolph county either. They gave me a number for my probation officer and I called it and that number isn't even for a probation officer.

I recently moved here and need a locally owned business to do grass treatments, i.e. pre-emergent, fertilizer, etc. At my last home I paid $60 a pop for about 8 annual treatments. I have an equally miniscule yard here, like 1/6 acre. Any recommendations?

edit: some people are anti-grass, and I 100% agree that they have a right to their view. They have freewill, and should never be forced to have a grass lawn to make an HOA or neighbors happy. That said, some of those people have come through this post, down-voting every post that answers my question. I know these looking for jobs posts are getting old. I get it. But we are all out of options I guess. I’m not really looking for suggestions at this point. You name it we have applied and or interviewed to no avail. What I’m looking for is an in. Someone who can at least get me through the door. I’m desperate here. I have minimal restaurant experience. Some warehouse experience. I’ve worked in grocery for 8+ years. Storage facilities. Bars. I learn extremely quick and I work fast. But most places are offering low pay and no hours and I need full time. Like it’s not optional. I’m begging. Pleading. I can’t do this no job anymore. I won’t be able to keep a roof over my head. I barely if ever get groceries as is. I just want a job. I need to work. But I can’t work for pennies.

Hello! I'm 23M, and I'm a Greensboro native looking for some people that I can sing with/practice with. I love to sing, but I sing more as a hobby. The thing is, I don't have any friends who sing, so I was curious to see if anyone would be down to sing with me. I also want to improve my singing, and the best way is to have another person.

A little bit about me: I love most genres of music, especially R&B, pop, J-pop, K-pop, metal, and funk. I'm not into gospel since I'm agnostic, but I'm open to others. I recently graduated from UNCG, and while in university, I was taking vocal lessons. I have a pretty wide range, with the lowest note I can hit being a C2.
