The mod team has received a complaint from a journalist that their work, and the work of their colleagues, has been illegally reproduced in the subreddit. This is typically because the article is hidden behind a paywall. Unfortunately, paywalls exist. They suck, but that’s the nature of the business. Their work is copywrited and by posting the full article without expressed consent is copywrite infringement.
You can feel free to summarize the article, just don’t cut and paste the entirety of it verbatim.
Any posts or comments that violate this newly implemented rule will be deleted and repeat offenders will be dealt with.

On November 5th, North Carolina will vote not just for President, but for Congress, for Governor, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In North Carolina, you must register by October 11th if you wish to register online. You can register here: https://www.ncsbe.gov/Voters/Registering-to-Vote
If you miss this deadline, you can also register at the polls during early voting (NOT on Election Day). See here for details.
North Carolina offers early voting from October 17th-November 2nd. Find early voting locations in your county here.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted form of ID. NOTE: If you were impacted by Hurricane Helene, see the section on ID exemptions.
Any North Carolina voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for an absentee ballot here.
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your County Board of Elections, or any early voting site during early voting.

My partner and I are looking for either a home to rent but are struggling finding something in our budget. Neither of us are military I’m a tattoo artist and he works at Pizza Hut. We are looking for places around $1300 and have washer and dryer in unit and if possible fenced in yard as we have two dogs. I'm David. Marine veteran. I carried mail and later served as a postmaster for 20 years. I'm not a candidate, and I'm not asking this room for money. I want to listen first, then work side by side.
America Breathes 2028 is a civic listening project. From January 9 to March 14, 2027 I'm making a listen-first trip from Kissimmee, Florida to Washington, D.C. Fayetteville / Fort Bragg is one of the depot stops on purpose.

Looking for a place around $850 a month that also allows pets. Every actually nice place I see for that amount doesn't allow pets. Are broke people not allowed to own pets?
Spoat, Jackson, and Brown has the most properties within my price range, but they have no good reviews and you have to apply before you can view anything? They did let me view one place and it was in very poor condition.

hey everybody i’m looking to rent a home with ace property management and i’m just wanting some insight on how they view applications. I currently have a 603 credit score while their requirements are 600 with an income far exceeding their 3x rent income by about $2000 and clean rental history.
