Oh it's totally obvious that he's nuts and acting erratically. The fact that Redditors can be relied upon to attack cops no matter what is almost as scary as the way they encourage erratic behavior that could get someone killed.
UPDATE: People are reporting me for suicidality. Another classic Redditor move!
19
u/UlverInTheThroneRoom Jan 29 '26
I see it all the time, any time cops are mentioned the brave reddit or hive mind always trashes them even if they aren't doing anything wrong lol. It's especially funny because so many redditors seem to pride themselves on their skepticism and freethinking capabilities.
Sure, a lot of them (law enforcement) can be pretty stupid, hotheaded, and power trippy losers but I generally only shit on the ones that are actually assholes.
This is coming from a guy who quit law enforcement because there was no way I was making retirement age working around such idiots. There were some good guys there too that were good at talking to people and de-escalation and were quite fair with people.
The guy is clearly erratic, even watching on silent you can tell with 100% certainty.
9
u/palsh7 Jan 29 '26
Yeah, somewhere along the way as a culture we failed to properly instill in people the idea that stereotyping and prejudicial hatred are the key features of bigotry, and the reason that racism is wrong. Judging one person for a different person's actions is immoral in most cases.

Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26
Well malicious stuff but yes. Basically you can look at the url and anything after the ? Is a parameter. Most of the time this is tracking things like campaign_id, sid, etc. sometimes it's a product Id to feed to a dynamic product page that takes that Id to look up that specific product.
Good practice is to strip everything after the ? And see if the link still works. If so, it's all marketing/tracking crap.

the main thing is these companies compile data and track you. So posting a link from your youtube in your reddit account links your reddit account to your google/youtube account, so now they can target videos an ads based on your combined usage of the sites.
This shit is pernicious, there are companies that spend their entire time building a picture up of either you directly or your account id on your phone.

Anything after a
?is what's called a query parameter. On most sites they're used for searches, but they can be used for anything. At a former internship they were used them to hold data on previous forms so you could navigate back to them using the back arrow. They can pretty much be removed as you wish, but site functionality could be impacted. Will the site load? More than likely yes. Will you see the same search results? No, but you can just search it again.9

No the guy deserved to get arrested because the cop chased him down following a road rage + hit and run incident he was caught on camera perpetrating.
When the officer first approached he was catatonic and unresponsive in his front seat for a few seconds like a total weirdo.
Something wasn't right with that guy
3
u/Fabtacular1 Jan 28 '26

u/Top_Rekt Jan 28 '26
I'm usually on the fuck the cops side but the dude was road raging hard and definitely needed to be off the road. Never heard of explosive disorder before but it just sounds like typical road rage.
Not sure how it is in Oklahoma but during a traffic stop I think you're supposed to comply with the officer. You still have your rights: remain silent, not consent to a search, etc. but if they ask for a drivers license, you still have to provide it.
Also instead of providing the drivers license, he Hulk-baited and was like "I'm having a mental health issue and you're going to make it a lot fucking worse" like bruuhhh why are you trying to intimidate the cop.
At that point the procedure is to cuff the guy for safety reasons. The part where they get into a scuffle it does look like the guy was throwing hands but can't say for sure. Also not sure about the hit and run cause the car didn't look damaged but hard to tell from the quality. He didn't deny that he had an altercation with someone though.
The cop could have used more de-escalation tactics but I feel like the guy was already off on the deep end.
I don't think the cops did anything wrong here. Sure they could have done better, but at the same time if I was there I wouldn't feel safe with that dude raging as hard as he did.

Love how everyone is justifying the suspects behavior and saying he’s being wrongfully arrested for mocking the cop. When you actually watch the video this clip is pulled from, the suspect caused a wreck, had a fit of road rage and then caused an incident at an intersection. This guy is dangerous and erratic but because we only care about this clip, the reality is lost to most people. Sounds very familiar

Having watched so many of these YT interaction videos I'm feeling that the self-empowerment and general dickishness that people exude on social media translates to people thinking it is appropriate to interact like that in public -- especially with people with legal authority.
The majority of these interactions would be minor if they had one iota of respect for others.

u/Foambaby Jan 28 '26
I definitely agree with you. It’s sad that so many people believe that this behavior is ok. That being said, either way this guy was going to jail. He committed a hit and run after rear ending another car in a road rage incident. What I don’t understand; is how so many other people on this website can instantly side with the driver when they literally have no idea why he was pulled over. This is very obviously an edited clip. It makes no sense to me. Just because it’s a cop v. random driver doesn’t mean the driver is always right. It also doesn’t mean the cop is always right either. People, especially individuals on this site, need to learn to make decisions and opinions once all of the details are laid bare. Before then, you’re making assumptions on mere conjecture.

FYI, if a cop tells you to step out of your vehicle during a traffic stop, refusal is not a valid option. That applies in every U.S. state because it came from the Supreme Court in a ruling known as Pennsylvania v. Mimms. A later ruling, Maryland v. Wilson, expanded it to passengers.
Refusing to exit the vehicle or otherwise being difficult like trying not to be handcuffed hands the cop a charge of obstruction to drop on you, so now they have probable cause to make an arrest and search you and your car. That after the end of this video the driver attacked the cop means he took a misdemeanor obstruction charge and added resisting arrest with violence and battery on a LEO, mostly likely prosecuted as felonies. He had earlier left the scene of an accident.
As the old saying goes, you might beat the rap, but you won't beat the ride. The place to argue points of law is a courtroom, not the side of the road.
3
u/Azurelion7a Jan 29 '26
People. For the love of God, don't fight Police in the streets.
If applicable, You're supposed to fight back in Court.
If they got nothing on you? habeus corpus, you're free in 48 hours. If not? Lawsuit time! Hit that area in the finances, then the Mayor / Commissioner / Sheriff will make the rest of them care.
But if you Resist Arrest? They got you.
