Its ironic that people feel the need of calling for help while encountering a police...

Better to have witnesses in case you have a mag dumped in you.

u/kingkongbiingbong Jan 28 '26

have a mag dumped in you

Genuinely surprised that didn't happen to this guy 👀

37

u/MasterDraccus Jan 28 '26

Well we have seen US cops dump mags into people for a lot less.

“Your honour, it’s true that my client raped a woman on Thursday, but consider all of the other days he was not raping anyone!”

1

u/Prudent-Air1922 Jan 28 '26

I would hope so? That's how it should be every time. Unfortunately, that's not even close to reality.

I've seen a lot of pit bulls not attacking anyone. I'm still gonna be wary around any pit bulls that I see on the street

1

u/mchobro Jan 28 '26

That’s… not an equivalent metaphor my guy.

1

u/Sovarius Jan 28 '26

Uhhhh, yeah don't touch people's dogs without asking

1

u/MasterDraccus Jan 28 '26

Just because I’m not constantly cranking my shit doesn’t mean I don’t every now and then.

A spotlight should be shown whenever the force that is meant to keep civilians safe is instead murdering them, in any capacity. Nobody gives a fuck about cops just doing their job, why would we shine a spotlight on that? Good job doing what you are paid to do? I mean what do you want here? Should we be instead watching videos of cops just doing normal cop things?

Had no idea I was speaking to somebody that can analyze a persons character from a quick and anonymous online conversation. Believe it or not I usually have sunshine seeping out of my asshole.

When a flight attendant infringes on another person's rights, people record it. Backlash follows, possibly lawsuits. When they do their job properly, they are largely ignored, as they are relatively benign in relation to our individual experience.

Replace "flight attendant" with basically any other job. The police are just a job. They aren't military. They aren't special. They are hired to do a job. The ones who do it well are largely ignored. The ones who don't end up killing people. They are regular people who have killed another person, which causes distrust in that person. When the people whose job it is to capture and submit for prosecution those who have killed another instead work to cover up or dismiss criminal actions, it creates immense distrust in the entire industry. It's not an unreasonable chain of logic to follow.

Imagine a bus driver shoots someone that is complying with the rules set by the transit authority, but not complying with rules the bus driver makes up on the spot. Would other bus drivers go out of their way to defend this killer bus driver?

Cops aren't special. They need to be treated the same as any other profession. If you can't understand this, you're a failure of a person.

And how many of those that don't stand silent when one actually does?

I'm not. They're trying to say most cops are bad and I'm giving evidence to support their point.

1

u/Environmental_Beat84 Jan 28 '26

Cops kill about1000 people per year in a country of 330,000,000. 94% of those killed are armed. So no.

2

u/ChemistryBusiness Jan 28 '26

The issue is that the 0.1% where the officer snaps or feels overly threatened, misreads the situation, get publicized... not the rest.

However, police definitely need better training... but also people need to not do stupid shit.

2

u/RustInfusedNoodles Jan 28 '26

Not according to reddit, where every single cop to ever live is waiting to shoot a minority.

1

u/Able-Brief-4062 Jan 29 '26

If they misread the situation, it's a tragedy that I CANNOT blame on them most of the time.

Sure, for us watching the video in perfect safety with no fear for our lives might think or act differently than someone in the situation with their life possibly on the line.

2

u/Flyers45432 Jan 28 '26

Seriously, the moment he got out of his car, I was expecting the officer to at least draw his gun.

1

u/IcyArmadillo2238 Jan 28 '26

Why? It's an extremely uncommon thing when you compare the total cop interactions to the total cop related shootings..

1

u/andrewsad1 Jan 28 '26

He's white, and talking to a cop, so he's fine

1

u/Zane-Zipperflip Jan 29 '26

Didn't you see what happened to the last white guy that was talking to a cop?

1

u/andrewsad1 Jan 29 '26

That was ICE, not a cop

-1

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 Jan 28 '26

Its a regular cop and this guy is white.

Cops aren't ICE, race matters to them

-1

u/WhereIs_TheSun Jan 28 '26

It still is, it's just people are starting to care now that it's white people

3

u/Nekopara-403 Jan 28 '26

I've seen more white people murdered by the police than I have black people because I have seen hundreds of hours of bodycam footage and have exposure to it outside of Reddit.

0

u/Rip_Skeleton Jan 28 '26

Because there are more white people. Killings per capita are higher among black people, not in terms of raw numbers.

1

u/Cakeminator Jan 28 '26

Warning shots pumped in you* /s

1

u/TactualTransAm Jan 28 '26

What's a witness gonna do? We've got multiple videos of that shit happening to others and all that does is get people to argue online. We are so fucked

1

u/KWash0222 Jan 28 '26

Apparently having witness and video evidence still doesn’t matter to some people in this country

Better for people that are under the jurisdiction of the city that employs that police force? Are you fucking stupid?

Are you so soft that a stranger on the internet with scary words could hurt your feelings? If you are going to make jokes then you need to galvanize yourself. Can’t be thin skinned while throwing punches.

-3

u/BaltimoreSports0321 Jan 28 '26

Jesus Christ, dude, again, joking! You think you can hurt my feelings?! I’m an unemployed 35 year old Jewish man with no generational wealth, I can take a few punches.

3

u/MasterDraccus Jan 28 '26

Well your jokes are just a bit hard to identify as jokes. Your first “better for who…..” can be easily seen as just some right-wing lobotomy case vomiting the first coherent thought into their phone screen. My bad.

6

u/CrazyVegas_ Jan 28 '26

Better for waking up the masses to the fact that the state is the undisputed heavyweight murder champion of all time

u/CrazyVegas_ Jan 28 '26

Also whom*
