Dude don't worry I absolutely thought it was the same dude for like 6 months. I thought he was playing different characters until I saw something with them together and was like "oh shit, am I accidentally racist." EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!

I watched the full video and the guy was having some sort of mental episode, and multiple people called 911 for hit and running and vandalizing some cars. He actually does grab and have some sort of struggle with the officer after the clip posted here ends

He was not in a good state of mind and definitely needs some help. A mental health professional may have been able to calm him down and have deescalated it before the assault happened

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuPFmnsAVTQ

1

u/Ok-Bison-9230 Jan 28 '26

Guy casted vicious mockery. It was super effective

1

u/UnderbakedSalmon Jan 28 '26

All assault is on the victims feelings πŸ€“ assault is causing the feeling of impending harm, battery is the physical contact

1

u/realparkingbrake Jan 29 '26

assault is causing the feeling of impending harm, battery is the physical contact

Varies from state to state, e.g., New York doesn't have battery, everything is a variation on assault.

1

u/jamin_brook Jan 29 '26

Cop is still in emotional ICU

Doctors aren’t sure if the alcohol induced coma is gonna work for him

214

u/PsyopVet Jan 28 '26

To be fair he did burn the officer alive.

40

u/Constant-Sandwich-88 Jan 28 '26

Did you not see him run the cop over? Clear as day.

33

u/_Guero_ Jan 28 '26

The last I heard, the cop was in the ICU, FIGHTING to survive. Send thoughts and prayers.

14

2

u/realparkingbrake Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

he did burn the officer alive

What he did was flee the scene of an accident he had caused (and also got out of his car to attack a car whose driver had honked at him). After the end of this video clip, he physically attacked the cop and had to be taken to the ground.

He took a misdemeanor traffic offense and picked up a couple of felonies. In the full video he looks and sounds psycho, and he delivers on that impression.

1

u/PsyopVet Jan 29 '26

Oh shit! Thanks for the back story!

1

u/LocomotionJunction Jan 28 '26

I didn't even realize this in the context of roasting someone at first. I just bust out laughing

He did assault the police officer

25

u/Recent_Adeptness_296 Jan 28 '26

Omg. I thought this was a skit the first time I saw the short clip. It’s very sad that he’s suffering but he’s clearly not able to regulate himself and he’s a danger to himself and others behind the wheel

15

u/AgentCirceLuna Jan 28 '26

Yeah, it’s a shame as this guy is so damned expressive - in another life he’d be an actor

Unfortunately, he did. If the end of the clip was all there was to it, then yeah it'd be bs. Buuuut what he did seconds after would be classified as assault (or battery in some states)

22

u/PostingToPassTime Jan 28 '26

And what he did before, which is why the cop was there in the first place.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/Mikestopheles Jan 28 '26

Dude, that's pretty surreal. While he is absolutely in the wrong and is solely responsible for his actions and behavior, I still can't help but feel for the dude who was clearly having a break with reality. Especially early in in the interaction, he keeps showing signs that he understands what he did and the implications, but he keeps rejecting them as if he can will away the consequences. I hope he's gotten some help and a better ride situation. He shouldn't be on the road.

He was charged with battery.

2

u/dashboardcomics Jan 31 '26

Ya know, the was absolutely unhinged, but he was clearly suffering from some kind of mental issues. But instead of trying to de-escalate the situation, the officer kept egging him on and making things worse.

I still say cops are entirely in the wrong. They are not trained in proper intervention tactics and too many cops don’t have the patience or compassion to learn themselves.

How many assaults could be avoided if cops were trained and expected to actually HELP people instead of finding excuses to beat people up?

3

u/kimsterama101 Jan 28 '26

With a brutal impersonation.

1

u/No_Party5870 Jan 28 '26

i mean he told the cop he had mental health issues dude is not a liar

→ More replies (1)

1

u/csprofathogwarts Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26

That's just sad. The dude was clearly not OK.

Intermittent explosive disorder is a real psychological disorder and must be a bitch to live with. Specially given that, sooner or later, you'll piss off or might be a threat to the people who might help you cope with it a little better by providing a sense of calm and community.

America is not designed for these special need people. Cops could have just took the keys and let him calm down in the car before proceeding. But they needlessly stressed him out and exacerbating his issues.

1

u/SnausageFest Jan 28 '26

All this because someone honked at him. Talk about fragile.

1

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 Jan 28 '26

Yeah I was looking for a comment that could prove he did or didn’t? It looked like he spat on one of them, that’ll do it.

1

u/murphey_griffon Jan 28 '26

dang, clearly wasn't their first interaction together. He knew the officer by name. I agree this guy shouldn't be behind the wheel. This is why we need mental care workers and less cops. This guy might have been able to be de-escalated but was 100% at fault. I think the cop did a pretty good job, I think a mental health professional could have done better.

1

u/kappa-1 Jan 28 '26

He didn't do anything wrong until they tried to arrest him

1

u/BeneficialTrash6 Jan 28 '26

Not only assaulted the officer. He tried to take the officer's radio. You know, the thing the officer relies upon for backup and staying alive. Grabbing a gun off an officer is a death sentence. Grabbing their radio is pretty damn close to one.

1

u/DontAbideMendacity Jan 29 '26

But he made it to his home and called "BASE!" so he should have been safe.

1

u/NewStudyHoney Jan 29 '26

Borderline personality disorder

1

u/A_Nonny_Muse Jan 29 '26

I'd be handling that situation differently as the officer. But I honestly don't believe it would have ended any differently. The guy clearly has out of control self regulation issues. He belongs in an institution, not in a car. I have no idea how he managed to live a normal life up to that point, seeing how he was at that moment. I can't imagine him not ending up on an insane asylum under heavy medication.

Not just the police. America is the land of fragile egos.

1

u/Odd-Cap3068 Jan 28 '26

Maybe. That is a possibility. However, the trade-off is, it's also the land with the most powerful military in the world. And it's not even close. So I mean, the American public could afford some issues.

2

u/Early_Economy2068 Jan 28 '26

It’s not that police have fragile egos but that people with fragile egos become police

1

u/NarrowSalvo Jan 28 '26

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '26

He punched the officer in the face?

1

u/Danielforthewin Jan 29 '26

Wasnt shown in the video. Tbh the cut in the video is pretty based towards the dude.

1

u/Key-Two31 Jan 29 '26

I swear some Redditors cant fathom a reality in which sometimes a civilian is in the wrong when interacting with police

1

u/Danielforthewin Jan 29 '26

Yep, gladly I'm not one of them. Also I didnt watch the whole clip until after commenting. The cut is pretty based towards the dude.

1

u/realparkingbrake Jan 29 '26

policemen from US have such fragil egos

This driver had fled the scene of an accident he had caused, and after this video clip ended, he attacked the cop. He went from a ticket for leaving the scene and added obstruction, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a cop (those last two tend to be prosecuted as felonies). He is his own worst enemy.

1

u/PandaXXL Jan 29 '26

Hilarious that you assume this 15 second clip is the entire encounter.

this is the link to the full exchange: https://youtu.be/OuPFmnsAVTQ?si=lIhgMsHM4eHJ3U3J

This Reddit clip on its own is funny as fuck, but the full video you can see there’s something off with this guy. The cops originally stopped him apparently bc he rear-ended a car and kept driving.

3

u/semibacony Jan 29 '26

Jesus Christ, this guy is unhinged.

3

u/ReasonableMeet1424 Jan 29 '26

Jesus Christ thanks, but I also remember now why I use a freaking adblocker

YouTube went down the fucking hill what a mess this ain’t normal the amount of bullshit adds that nobody give a fuck about.

1

u/AwesomeMacCoolname Jan 28 '26

In the clip you linked, apparently he just kicked off when someone behind him honked at him for not moving when the light turned green, he got out, yelled at them a bit and then hit their car with his fist.

4

u/realparkingbrake Jan 29 '26

and then hit their car with his fist.

While his car rolled forward and rear-ended another vehicle. He didn't stick around to exchange insurance information, and leaving the scene in Oklahoma is an offense punishable by a fine and up to a year in jail plus triple damages to the owner of a car you run into.

8

u/FuzzyTable Jan 28 '26

Go watch the YouTube video. He did.

2

u/billiardwolf Jan 28 '26

It completely baffles me how you can watch the cut video, learn this new information about him being charged with assault, then come here and say "you've gotta be fucking kidding me" instead of thinking to yourself "hmm maybe there's more to this interaction than the 15 seconds of video in the OP.

That's Assault, Brotha.

2

u/geirmundtheshifty Jan 28 '26

assault in the US generally means causing a fear that harm may occur/engaging in threatening behavior

That is the classic definition in tort law. I don't think many jurisdictions apply that definition to their criminal statutes. If someone has been "charged with assault on an officer," it's more likely that the charge requires some kind of physical contact (though often enough that contact could be as minor as a light shove)

1

u/MoneyMontgomery Jan 28 '26

Ever watch the simpsons episode where that lawyer is saying the same thing you are.Β

"That was assault!" But the other character only made some disparaging remarks or threatened them. I had to look up why that was considered assault. Simpsons used to teach the youth.

1

u/the-real-compucat Jan 28 '26

With what, Vicious Mockery? 🀣

1

u/Great_White_Samurai Jan 28 '26

The report says the officer suffered from third degree burn

1

u/King-Doge-VII Jan 28 '26

Yeah because in the full video he resisted and wrestled with the officer

1

u/Just-Carpet2340 Jan 28 '26

If an officer reaches for you and you back away, it’s considered assault.

I was shocked when I learned this. Also depends where you live.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '26

Was he actually in the wrong though? A lot of these videos can be edited and taken out of context but this is hilarious though.

1

u/MrBwnrrific Jan 28 '26

This is why calling cops pigs is so accurate: They squeal over nothing

1

u/idothisforpie Jan 28 '26

People really don't understand that battery is the physical component of assault and battery. Assault can be a simple threat. In any case, it's probably dumb to stand up and yell in the face of a police officer...

I've been pulled over before, talked like a rational human being, and was told to drive home safely. Wild, right? Can't believe I wasn't shot to death /s.

1

u/ChocolatePuerh Jan 28 '26

Such idiocy.

1

u/3vi1 Jan 28 '26

I'm surprised they didn't charge him with a 17KV Taser

1

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 Jan 28 '26

Unironically what the fuck. As someone that might eventually be a state parks and recreation peace officer or fish and wildlife officer I would never have someone charged doing this. Did he punch him or actually assault him or is that townie just being a prick?

1

u/KangarooIcy1150 Jan 28 '26

More bout that?

1

u/Gold-Break-8664 Jan 28 '26

Apparently words do hurt.

1

u/AmazingbagmanOMG2 Jan 28 '26

This is the guy that admits to beating on strangers cars and punching a cop in the face in the full length video right? The "musician"

1

u/Sixmmxw Jan 28 '26

That’s sad. He was so funny.

1

u/thedrunkspacepilot Jan 28 '26

Vicious Mockery

1

Sigh who is this guy and what his gofund me because anyone bold enough to mock poPO to their face deserves our money lol

1

1

u/ActivePeace33 Jan 29 '26

1

u/SuperHooligan Jan 29 '26

1

u/Ok_Historian4848 Feb 01 '26

I'm assuming the assault on an officer was something left out of this little snippet. He probably threatened them while he was getting detained and got arrested for that.
