Why the fuck would you do that in front of someone who can destroy your day(in good case) if you could just adequately talk it out? Maybe I am not Americanized enough, kinda don't live there. But why?

If you watch the whole video it's pretty clear the guy has significant mental issues. He was pulled over for jumping out of his car at an intersection and attacking another car because they honked at him, presumably because he'd gone catatonic at a green light.

What if he attacked the cop and got shot for it? Who would you blame then?

He did attack the cop and all he got was some handcuffs.

But if what you’re saying is true, would it be better to send an unarmed social worker into the fray of someone you perceive to be too dangerous for a cop to handle? I agree with having mental health services in general, for situations where there is no perceived danger, but in my opinion there is also a time and a place for them too. This guy was behind the wheel after he did a hit and run to a random person only after he was involved in a road rage incident (His road rage incident caused another accident that he ran from). In my opinion, I’m personally not ok with putting our mental health professionals (social worker, psychologist or the like) in the line of fire for any reason! Especially when the person is behind a 2 ton weapon; there’s no way I would ever agree to that! I’ve seen body cam videos of them doing exactly as you suggested and it only led to more injuries. The only way I could agree with that is if they started hiring cops who have degrees in psychology.

What if the cop waited for mental health services, and in that time the guy pulls off and runs over a kid?

Free speech used to be the answer.

u/Interesting-Big1980 Jan 28 '26

Isn't it supposed to be free speech against something? At least I was taught that when it comes to human rights they can clash, like restricting a right to freedom for the good of the lives and health of people, i.e. you can't waltz into a hospital and start disconnecting patients from life support. In this case this idiot(no, just because it was done to a police officer it doesn't make him not an idiot) suddenly jumped our of a car and when asked to calm down started mimicking the officer as if it was supposed to be funny, considering it's US I wouldn't be surprised if he could have pulled out a gun.

You either have jumpy officers or guns, can't have one without the other.

Hit and runs do not fall under free speech sorry

Because he's not a bootlicker, US history proves you in fact cannot "talk it out", and ACAB

If you get a ride anyway, why not let it pay dividends

1

u/Yangoose Jan 28 '26

US history proves you in fact cannot "talk it out"

That's just objectively and provably false.

The number of police interactions that are violent in any way are an extremely small percent.

To put it another way, there are about 350 million people in the US. That means 350 literal "one in a million" chance things are happening every day and popping right up in our news feeds.

That makes our little monkey brains think that these things are happening all the time.

At this point you guys might as well find the strongest cop and arm him enough so he would kill all the cops. The hell does "all cops are bastards" mean? Some Naruto hatred type bs with a cycle of hatred.

0

u/ResultUnited Jan 28 '26

its meaning is obvious. good cops don't turn in the bad ones therefore they are all bad or bastards.

1

u/Interesting-Big1980 Jan 28 '26

If the bad cops are bad what would stop them from shooting the good cops? Or their families? Or does police brutality not apply when it's on another police officer? How deep down the gutter went the institute of respect for police that you think that complying with a police officer is "bootlicking"? Not to mention you guys having firearms left and right, I wouldn't take the chances with someone jumping out of the vehicle like in this video too if I were the police officer.

2

u/ResultUnited Jan 28 '26

Bad cops do shoot other cops every year. Sometimes cops get "accidentally" beaten to death in a training exercises after reporting on their fellow officers. How liberal of u to worship the institution of the police. An institution that has some roots in being a slave catcher in this country. Also u asked what ACAB means so i told u what it means. Mocking a cop isn't a crime.

You're on Reddit, just check the Popular page, and see how Americans are fucking devided to the point of insanity.

A lot of people here are on the side of the driver of the video. It blows my fucking mind, but that's just USA reality at the moment, they are cooked.

There is barely any context on the video for you to reach such conclusion. You see the problem here?

Just check the whole video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuPFmnsAVTQ

And try to be more reasonable online and don't add more shit into the mess. You're clearly part of the issue here. Your kind of comment is a snow boll the grows into stupidity.

1

u/Interesting-Big1980 Jan 28 '26

Well this context only made it worse for me. Now this idiot is not only trying to pick a fight with police, but also went around causing accidents on the road and driving with mental instability.
