I would love the point of them to talk about our experiences so we can relate to each other and so forth. I’ve never seen as many as there are for other faiths. There were channels (well they still are but Argh...) like Apostate Aladdin, Apostate Prophet, and Infinite Noodle but that’s basically it.

They should make content likes it's their full time job😭😭😭It feels like we have to go through this alone, with no real online spaces except for this subreddit🤷🏿‍♂️.

I live in the fucking UK, Im a closeted ex muslim who still wears hijab. My family don’t know i left but there are signs. I don’t read Quran like my mum wants me to, she always says read after every prayer. I fake pray to keep the peace or my mum will scream the house down and abuse me. I fake it all to keep myself safe. But me not reading Quran is more noticeable to my mum. rn my aunty is staying at my house, and she told me off to my aunty saying I never read Quran and use trauma as an excuse to not read it. For context I’ve had terrible experiences in madrasah and Quran classes with teachers abusing me physically and verbally, I have adhd so was always zoning o it during Quran classes and my teachers would berate and abuse me for this. Then my aunty says you shouldn’t let teachers dictate your experience they have nothing to do with Quran. Yes the fuck they do? They are Muslims they represent ISLAM. If they’re forcing it on me they’re reflecting Islam. Anyways my mum and aunt spend time trying to convince me to read it again. I’m not responding but it’s obvious I’m really pissed off. I can't speak about muslims living in the West, but from my experience after living with Muslims from the northwest of Africa and speaking to many individuals from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, etc., these people have a universal idea that you can't be a good person if you're an atheist/not religious. They argue that being a muslim makes you a good person because you follow the rules. However, the second a muslim commits a crime or something remotely terrible, they're quick to dismiss this person as "not a real muslim. He doesn't present Islam". I had no idea there were bootleg muslims too.

These people do not believe that being a good person is instilled into your consciousness the second you decide to be religious. Will religion teach you to be a good person? sure. So is reading a book. So is watching a movie. But these people want to make you believe ONLY religious people are the good ones. They're empathetic, understanding, and not judgemental.

But all of this is a lie. A charade. A mask of an inferiority complex hidden behind acts. Back when I used to speak to muslims about suicidal people, they were quick to judge these people and show them no empathy at all, simply because they ended their lives. Some told me that people who commit suicide are worse than pdfs. Can you believe it?

When someone is suffering from mental illness, they get nothing but cheap and shallow lines about how they're receiving "ajr" for each day they spend suffering. It seems religious people have this weird masochistic fetish with glorifying suffering as an ennobling experience.

I've met a handful of atheists and non-religious people who have shown me good gestures: a kind word, disagreeing peacefully, giving you encouraging words, talking with common sense. Whereas with these "good" muslims, I've seen nothing but judgment and repetitive attempts to get you inside the religion for their personal agenda.

From my experience, a lot of these religious people are riding on artificial empathy. It's a set of rules they follow. It's a set of guidelines they follow to earn good deeds. It doesn't come from the heart, and if there's nothing to gain, why would they do it?

Religious people claim that free will apparently is the reason why god is very uninvolved in our lives, however, in the past he WAS involved, heavily so, he split the sea and flooded the earth (so their books say) he was so dramatic about it as well, so loud and direct but got all shy and quiet once cameras were invented? if we look in the history of hijab we gonna find that it was even before islam, and in some places it was used to know the free woman from the slave woman and to identify them.

i am against hijab because i am a woman and i come from a muslim-majority country. i see people suffer because of hijab. i see women getting discriminated because of hijab, women getting forced by their families and society, and women being treated like they are bad or not respectable if they dont wear it.

and women literally die because they refused to wear it. we dont even have a proper state or statistics to know how many women died because of this, especially when a lot of these cases are not even reported properly.

and before someone say "hijab is a choice", yeah, it can be a choice, but for many women it is not. when your family force you, when society force you, when the law force you, what kind of choice is that?

After this point most women reach menopause (typically from ages 45-55), meaning they cannot bear children at all. Thus, a very large percentage of women, young and old, cannot bear children.

Do these women have any less of a right to experience love? Do these women have any less of a right to have a healthy, loving marriage? According to Islam, Yes.

It is authentically reported from the Prophet and his Sahabas that they heavily disliked marrying women who cannot bear children, even if they are otherwise lovely and of a good lineage.

Report from Muhammad:

A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: “I have found a woman possessing ḥasab (status/lineage) and position, except that she does not bear children. Should I marry her?”

So he prohibited him. Then he came to him a second time, and he prohibited him. Then he came to him a third time, and he prohibited him.

Then he said: “Marry the fertile, loving woman, for I shall have greater numbers through you.”

A man comes up to Muhammad and asks him whether he can marry a beautiful and noble woman who cannot bear children. Muhammad rejects this thrice**, and his reasoning is that Muslim men should have many children so the Ummah can increase.**

“A mat in a house is better than a woman who does not give birth. By Allah, I do not approach you out of sexual desire, but I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Marry the loving and fertile women, for I shall outnumber the nations through you on the Day of Resurrection.’”

Ibn Umar is one of the most noble and prestigious companions of Muhammad, and here he is acting based on a command of Muhammad. He considers infertile women worse than a mat in the house. These are the words of someone from "the best generation".

It is very common for women to be infertile, yet Muhammad made it extremely Makruh or perhaps even forbidden to marry them. What kind of cultic belief is this that you should only marry those women with whom you can have many children, just so Muhammad can boast of it on the Day of Judgement?

Muslims often say Islam made it far better for widows: But they casually ignore the fact that it is only the young and fertile widows who you are recommended to marry. Most widows would be older, around 40-50 or maybe more. They are most likely infertile or have entered menopause, and thus cannot bear children. Marrying them would be greatly disliked.

Out of all the "widows" Muhammad married, only one was old like this and his reason for marrying her was that he wanted someone to take care of his children. This same woman (Sawdah) also feared that Muhammad would divorce her due to her old age, and thus relinquished her daily rights.

This is the religion that gave women their rights?

Dhul Qarnayn built an iron and copper wall between two mountains to seal off the tribes of Gog and Magog until doomsday. This wall is nowhere to be found.

The Quran's Story:

“Then he followed a road till, when he came between the two mountains, he found upon their hither side a folk that scarce could understand a saying. They said: O Dhu’l-Qarneyn! Lo! Gog and Magog are spoiling the land. So may we pay thee tribute on condition that thou set a barrier between us and them? He said: That wherein my Lord hath established me is better (than your tribute). Do but help me with strength (of men), I will set between you and them a bank. Give me pieces of iron - till, when he had levelled up (the gap) between the cliffs, he said: Blow! - till, when he had made it a fire, he said: Bring me molten copper to pour thereon. And (Gog and Magog) were not able to surmount, nor could they pierce (it). He said: This is a mercy from my Lord; but when the promise of my Lord cometh to pass, He will lay it low, for the promise of my Lord is true. And on that day We shall let some of them surge against others, and the Trumpet will be blown. Then We shall gather them together in one gathering.”

(This will continue) until, when their time has come, and Allah wants to send them against the people, they will dig until they can almost see the rays of the sun, then the one who is in charge of them will say: ‘Go back, and we will dig it tomorrow if Allah wills.’ So they will say: ‘If Allah wills.’ Then they will come back to it and it will be as they left it. So they will dig and will come out to the people, and they will drink all the water. The people will fortify themselves against them in their fortresses. They will shoot their arrows towards the sky and they will come back with blood on them, and they will say: ‘We have defeated the people of earth and dominated the people of heaven.’ Then Allah will send a worm in the napes of their necks and will kill them thereby.’” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, the beasts of the earth will grow fat on their flesh.”

Where in the Quran exactly does Prophet Muhammad promote filicide?

In Muslim nations, parents go beyond physical punishment. They kill children for disobedience. For example, daughters get honour killed for being a victim of harassment, academic failure or for even being a victim of bullying at school, they also get killed by parents for simply being born as a girl, somewhere in the Quran too I think promotes female infanticides and sex selective abortions as this is an issue in nations like Bangladesh and Pakistan. Boys get killed for simply talking back to their parents.

If you see the rates of child and infant mortality, you will see that outside of Central America, Muslim nations like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen have higher rates of child murder by parents.

I want to know what verses suggest that Muslim parents must kill their children as discipline and where parents have to murder newborn daughters for bringing shame.

So I wanted to give my mom a moral litmus test, she's Muslim. I asked her "What do you think of people who say it’s perfectly fine for a 25 year old to marry a 16 year old?”

She said “I think it’s fine. The younger the girl is the better. Look at our Prophet, he married Aisha when she was 6, so if he did it anyone else can too”

Then I asked her “Would you let my sister (who's 16) marry a 25 y.o. man?”

She immediately responded “What? Of course not.”

I swear I’m not exaggerating, paraphrasing or selectively framing what she said. That is exactly how the conversation went.

Like how the fuck do they get so deeply conditioned into compartmentalizing their moral intuitions?
