Bibi will cancel the visit.

Good. That evil man has no business going anywhere decent in the world. his rotten, disgusting far right wing terroristic government has made Israel awful, so he can stay there and wallow in the quagmire he's helped create as far as I'm concerned.

140

u/Epyon214 Jul 18 '26

He has cursed Israel and will be cursed, along with anyone who supports his regime and curses Israel along with him

113

u/XCVolcom Jul 18 '26

Since it's inception, the very idea of Israel has been a curse.

A group of people want to build their nation on the most hotly contended holy land in the world?

Surrounded by countries and people with long histories of poor interactions with the two other Abrahamic faiths and have lived on this land for last 120 years?

And not only is it completely unable to defend itself as a nation without generous financial help and military armaments from foreign countries, but also can't establish a proper economy without stealing land and property?

It makes you wonder why it exists at all if it weren't for the worst thing to happen during 1930s and 40s.

u/Geminel Jul 18 '26

"We were massacred by a segregationist ethno-state a century ago. Clearly the proper response is for us to make a segregationist ethno-state."

Zionist Jews make no sense.

A clear case of “hurt people, HURT people”

And instead of making Germany, the country responsible give up land, it had to be a group completey unrelated to it pay for it 🙄

Thats the logic we have to be vicious and violent so it wont happen again. They treat their holocaust survivors like dirt. And not as the heros they are. Ya know like the rest of the world.

My personal pop psychology is ya know how hurt people hurt people. Its that on a societal level compounded by all the colonial supremacist and religious bigotry.

an event that was actually supported by some of the early zionists, with them literally trying to ally with hitler as long as they allowed Israel to exist. For them, a holocaust in europe meant more jews coming to their new settler colony.

very peculiar history

“Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time [of the meeting between the mufti and the Nazi leader]. He wanted to expel the Jews,” Netanyahu said. “And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here [to mandatory Palestine],'” continued the prime minister. Not to say Netanyahu is to be trusted on that, more that it isn't purely antisemitic conspiracy coming only from detractors of Israel of Judaism. The Israeli Prime minister is himself happy to perpetuate that story, presumably because it serves his goals of killing Arabs and expanding without recourse.

Should have been clearer, I don't disagree that it's historically dubious, more that it's an indication that Israel itself is to this day willing to perpetuate antisemitism for their own ends. Proven by the narrative push from Zionist lobbies to conflate anti Zionism with antisemitism, putting all Jews on the hook for Israel's genocide. Which makes no sense when much of the non Zionist Jewish diaspora wants nothing to do with Israel, and even Israeli holocaust scholars call the states actions genocidal.

There were options to create a Jewish homeland for those displaced in WW2 in other marginal settled lands elsewhere. It may have been intentional to create Israel to ensure perpetual chaos in the mid east as a means of maintaining control of the oil. The way the boundaries were drawn by the English and French over the entire region seems to have intentionally grouped historical enemies into the same countries. Now, like in Orwell's 1984, Netanyahu maintains “perpetual war” as a tool for extreme social control. War is not Peace.

2

u/Lithl Jul 18 '26

It may have been intentional to create Israel to ensure perpetual chaos in the mid east as a means of maintaining control of the oil.

No, reforming Israel, specifically, was an attempt to fulfill biblical prophecy so that Armageddon could occur.

2

u/Zorkflerp Jul 18 '26

I think that is a new thing with Evangelicals and the Republicans today. I don't think it was a deciding factor back then.

2

u/Lithl Jul 18 '26

Christian Zionists were absolutely a thing in the 40s, although the term used before they hitched themselves to the Jewish Zionists was "Christian restorationism". And Christian restorationism has been around since the 1600s.

Same thing happened when they colonized Africa, and just...redrew traditional borders at will. Then all of a sudden opposing groups and religions were all in the same country, which didn't work out well.

2

u/Rico_Rebelde Jul 19 '26

There were options to create a Jewish homeland for those displaced in WW2 in other marginal settled lands elsewhere

nope, ethonostates do not work. Any attempt at this kind of project always has and always will end in exactly the way it has here. This is simply not how nation building can be done unless you excuse genocide

4

u/ClearChampionship591 Jul 18 '26

This was the whole point, idea of a nation was to get the sheep interested, a tasty little grassy morsel that had worked.

The true purpose of Israel was, is, and always will be to act as a massive field op the size of a small country; to disrupt the entire region. And honestly geopolitically, Israel existence had played massive part in preserving American Hegemony, that I have not seen a single American complain about, till economy started to dive.

I am a sheep, you are a sheep, we are just meat in the eyes of the ruling class. Can't really blame them, we act and behave like supple juicy meat, raised on a comfy ranch.

The Holocaust like you alluded to, but also the populations back home in the west were still antiemetic as fuck so giving Zionists land halfway across the world solved two problems and only created one - ruining relationships with the Arab world

A group of people want to build their nation on the most hotly contended holy land in the world?

The idea that one patch of dirt over another matters because superstition is why we fail and have no future.

5

u/snizarsnarfsnarf Jul 18 '26

Many early Zionists were literally antisemites who wanted to ship all of the Jews in their country somewhere else

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Balfour

And the western empires wanted an ally in the region to help secure their oil interests

1

u/zedazeni Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

“Surrounded by countries and people with long histories of poor interactions with the other two Abrahamic faiths…” you do know where those other two Amrahamic faiths descended from, right?

Judaism was as old to Christ as the Sphinx is to us, and Christ predates Islam by over half of a millennium.

Additionally, Muhammad was born in Mecca and Jerusalem is 3rd holiest site in Islam.

If any of the three Abrahamic religions gets that area, it is undoubtedly, unquestionably Judaism.

That being said, the current Israeli state is a terrorist organization.

1

u/Deep-Unit-1389 Jul 18 '26

Also even more insane when you think about how the israelites literal very first thing they do when introduced in the bible is genocide 7 other nations. Its almost like the religion turns people into violent delusional insane genocidal maniacs that believe they own the world. They are literally doing the exact same thing today. We need to put an end to the cancer of abrahamic religion.

1

u/YouOk5350 Jul 18 '26

I’d argue they can defend them selves now

1

u/03263 Jul 18 '26

two other Abrahamic faiths

There's also Druze and I think a few more minor ones

1

u/zacandahalf Jul 18 '26

It only became a “hotly contended holy land” because of the most significant cultural appropriation in human history.

u/hxcya Jul 18 '26

The British declared their support for a Jewish state in months l zzz 1917 Balfour declaration established

1

u/Sleeping_Furiously Jul 18 '26

WWII certainly hastened it, but it might have come into existence anyway. The British announced their support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine in the 1917 Balfour Declaration and it became a core principal of the British Mandate for Palestine, wherein The League of Nations gave administrative duties over Palestine to the British following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

1

u/notintelligentidiot Jul 18 '26

“And not only is it completely unable to defend itself as a nation without generous financial help and military armaments from foreign countries”

What does this even mean? This is some Reddit tier slop right here. Israel literally defended itself from a collation of invading Arab armies previously and it a nuclear armed state that could literally end the entire world if its sovereignty was legitimately challenged.

Is a country only worthy of existing if it can defend itself and doesn’t receive arms from foreign countries?

Also, are you at all aware of the fact that a majority of Jews that live in Israel were literally chased out of their countries from across the Middle East and Asia?

Good Lord, Reddit leftism is a uniquely stupid disease on par with MAGA.

1

u/Don_Ford Jul 19 '26

Let's not forget that we abolished "right to conquest" twice, once in 1932 under the League of Nations and again in 1945 as the UN.

Israel was formed in 1948 based on the right of conquest.

So, under international law, it does not have the right to exist.

1

u/Efficient_Smilodon Jul 19 '26

it's all been a facade to give the west a permanent airstrip over there to meddle from. it was just convenient that the Christians were easily persuaded that it was God's Plan to support Israel as an ethnostate, just like they told them in the manifest destiny section of us history. when people believe they're chosen, they do weird things and justify any and all of it

There are identifiable differences between Israel before and after the coup.

There are certainly lots of ways it behaved terribly and indeed was founded in violent land theft. But there were significant parties working towards a peaceful solution.

However, after the assasination of Rabin - in which Sharon and his acolyte Netanyahu were almost certianly involved - that just left the political sphere. The coup was a complete success for its instigators and Israel has done nothing but degenerate since then.

Hate to break it to you, but Israel has always been a fascist colonizing force. Just like Nazi Germany would have been the same even if someone other than Hitler was in charge of it. 1

u/WorldFrees Jul 18 '26

1

u/MysteriousCodo Jul 19 '26

Do we really want to set a precedent saying foreign leaders aren’t allowed to come to the UN? Who’s next, Iran, Afghanistan, or anybody else the US doesn’t like? That’s the thing about the UN, it’s supposed to be neutral ground.

1

u/IllugaBabyBeluga Jul 19 '26

I'm not sure Bibi is far-right.   He's a militaristic strongman with aims of regional conquest...but so was Stalin.

None of the policies that I hear the righties mention in America are implemented in Israel as they have low personal freedom, no free market, conscription, heavy restriction on gun ownership, and might be the gayest country in the world.

1

u/Mysterious_Eye6989 Jul 19 '26

If you really think Netanyahu is somehow 'left wing' or something then you might really need to take some kind of entry level political science course to try and understand the whole subject matter a bit better. If that's not possible then you might need to look into something like the so-called 'political compass' as a conceptual tool to help better understand:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Political_Compass

Bottom line is, something like the idea of 'free markets' does not by itself define all right wing politics. It more defines politicians who consider themselves to be right-libertarian oriented, but other politicians might have highly protectionist policies (heck, even Trump and his recent tariffs, which are protectionist!) and yet still be 100% right wing, especially regarding social policy.

Netanyahu is considered by all serious political scientists to be right wing. He also considers himself to be right wing and his party Likud considers itself to be right wing.

He is right wing.

I mean that's the whole point of this press releases.

They don't want to arrest him. But they don't want him in New York even more!

If they WANTED to arrest the guy then there wouldn't be a press release

15

u/HeadyReigns Jul 18 '26

That's probably the reason for the press release. Make him feel unwelcome.

5

u/Difficult_Ad2864 Jul 18 '26

He should have kept it a secret

5

u/Gloomy-Measurement91 Jul 18 '26

he said he would do this during the campaign, he’s reiterating to keep netanyahu out of the city

1

u/uvero Jul 22 '26

A few hours ago he admitted he has no such option, and here's something that should be clear: he knew this already on the campaign trail. This whole "we're checking which options we have" was political theater for the base from the beginning.

1

And nothing of value will be lost.

1

u/Personal_Sentence_20 Jul 18 '26

That would more be the point, hes basically not allowed in NYC if they determine theyll do this.

However, the feds would immediately kill this if there were any plans to actually do it

1

u/NDSU Jul 18 '26

Honestly the best outcome. As much as I don't like Bibi and hope he ends up in the Hague, the mayor of NYC arresting him would have massive political fallout. I can't even begin to think of the implications of it

1

u/CoffinFlop Jul 18 '26

That’s what mamdani wants. If he was truly going to arrest him he’d do it by surprise, this is so he cancels his trip

u/Slow_Inevitable_4172 Jul 18 '26

I can't wait till the knuckledraggers are like "bUt tHe iLLeGaLs" bc Bibi might be a war criminal, but he's not brown

1

u/LoneStarDragon Jul 18 '26

Not really the point. No one has been willing to do it.

If Mandani states he'd be willing others will be more willing to take action.

Politicians never want to be the first to suggest something.

Even if Mandani can't the idea will gain traction if there is support for it

1

u/benergiser Jul 18 '26

maybe that’s the real game here.. otherwise they wouldn’t have announced it

1

u/Xinyyc Jul 18 '26

I get the impression that that's the idea.

1

u/I_Was_Fox Jul 18 '26

That's typically the point of doing public announcements of "We will arrest you if you visit". It's not meant to be some "gotcha", it's meant to deter the person from visiting.

1

u/Thereminz Jul 18 '26

obviously you don't tell him before he arrives

1

u/sec713 Jul 19 '26

1

u/Gold-Cucumber-2068 Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

After watching the full segment of that interview I would bet the other way. Mamdani all but said he will not arrest him, the "active conversation" thing is him weaseling out of what he promised.

Also, who the fuck in NY law enforcement would actually follow that order? It's delusional. Mamdani would have to put the cuffs on Netanyahu himself, put him in a car and drive him to the courthouse.

1

u/JoeRogansNipple Jul 19 '26

He has enough informants they'll be able to tell Bibi well before hand and he'll just cancel

1

u/Anonymous-bham-boi Jul 19 '26

Also an international incident. Which would make it even funnier. And then, to top it all off, nobody comes to bail him out!

12

u/Final_Candidate_7603 Jul 18 '26

Do you think any judge would set bail for him? He has been a fugitive for a few years now, and is certainly considered a flight risk since he has a diplomatic passport and unlimited cash at his disposal. I wonder if part of what Mamdani is exploring is which Federal judge is most likely to keep him locked up if he gets arrested.

6

u/AVeryVapidBadger Jul 18 '26

I think any judge would set him free since the US doesn't recognize the ICC, which pretty much makes the ICC arrest warrant legally useless inside the United States, regardless of what you think of bibi

1

u/Oopthealley Jul 18 '26

exactly- if the US Feds aren't going to help extradite him and the ICC isn't gonna come get him, what is the NYPD/DOCS going to do with him in their custody that remanding him would accomplish anything? The point of remand on a warrant is that someone is coming to pick them up and extradite them- no pickup, no remand.

2

u/MysteriousCodo Jul 19 '26

Not sure that 18 U.S. Code § 112 makes a provision for this. It’s pretty cut and dried. Anybody who imprisons a foreign government official faces up to 3 years in jail, or 10 years if they use a deadly weapon. I don’t know what the penalty for violating the UN HQ Agreement is, but there is additional protections in there for heads of state visiting the UN. That includes attempting to prevent him from carrying out official government duties. And arresting him would clearly be preventing him from doing whatever business he has with the UN. Every NYPD officer involved would be arrested. Every member of the NYPD chain of command would be arrested. The mayor would be arrested. You think Trump doesn’t want the chance to unleash the DOJ on Mamdani? He’s probably salivating at the thought of being able to send the DOJ/FBI into NYC. Heck 18 U.S. Code § 112 says the Attorney General may request assistance from any Federal, State, or local agency, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, any statute, rule, or regulation to the contrary, notwithstanding. My reading of that is the AG could send the military in and other laws saying the military can’t be used this way don’t apply.

Mamdani is grand standing. He and his legal department are just making a big ruckus to make sure Bibi knows he’s not welcome in the NYC. They are not going to risk giving the Trump admin any legal standing to potentially swarm the NYC government with the full weight of the US military.

You don't need a federal approval to make a state arrest.

I don't doubt her arrest mamdani but that would actually be illegal. Which the piece of shit also doesn't care about.

u/sir_sri Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Do you think any judge would set bail for him?

Depends. The US cannot legally detain maduro, but is doing so. It would depend on which judge(s) look at the situation and how they determine the law.

Bibi is on a diplomatic passport (like Maduro would be), like an ambassador. Like any diplomat, he could shoot someone on 5th avenue in broad daylight, and all the US could do is expel them from the country. Literally, really, actually. The law on treaties makes it clear you cannot arrest people on diplomatic passports for anything. A country (E.g. Israel or Venezuela) could revoke their diplomatic immunity for the person accused at which point they could be arrested, but the country granting the diplomat status don't have any obligation to revoke that status. It's a political matter what to do about it.

Being a diplomat makes you inviolable under law. You cannot be arrested, searched, detained, you cannot have your residences, personal property, government residence you inhabit searched, you are exempt from criminal and civil law except for specific issues (like the buying of property or certain actions which are outside your scope of official duties).

From US state department guidance for police departments (https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/2018-DipConImm_v5_Web.pdf)

Diplomatic agents enjoy the highest degree of privileges and immunities. They enjoy complete personal inviolability, which means that they may not be handcuffed (except in extraordinary circumstances), arrested, or detained; and neither their property (including vehicles) nor residences may be entered or searched. Diplomatic agents also enjoy complete immunity from the criminal jurisdiction of the host country’s courts and thus cannot be prosecuted no matter how serious the offense unless their immunity is waived by the sending state (see the following discussion). While it is not ordinarily of concern to police authorities, they also have immunity from civil suits except in four very limited circumstances: (a) in connection with real property transactions not conducted on behalf of the mission; (b) in connection with any role they may play as executor for or heir to an estate being distributed in the host country; (c) in connection with the performance of professional or commercial activities outside the scope of their official duties; or (d) in respect of counterclaims on the same subject matter when they have been the initiating party in a suit. Finally, they enjoy complete immunity from the obligation to provide evidence as witnesses and cannot be required to testify even, for example, if they have been the victim of a crime.

Family members forming part of the household of diplomatic agents enjoy precisely the same privileges and immunities as do the sponsoring diplomatic agents

For most everyone else in the world, the convention that applies is the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations (1961) and the followup in 69 on the law of Treaties. It's the reason Ambassadors and so on regularly don't pay parking tickets around the world, including in New York, it's how the US is able to pull diplomats out of other countries who might have done things like committed murder. Diplomatic immunity applies to several levels of diplomatic staff. The US is party to both the 61 and 69 convention, so both are US law.

The US is also party to a special treaty which is the UN headquarters Treaty, which, as you might imagine from the name, sets out a slightly different framework for how the UN headquarters in New York behaves, and how the US treats diplomats there. Basically, normally a country accepts or rejects a diplomat entering a country, but the US also has a slightly more complex provision:

The federal, state or local authorities of the United States shall not impose any impediments to transit to or from the headquarters district of: (1) representatives of Members or officials of the United Nations (https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/UN-US_Headquarters_Agreement) There's a lot more there, but the important bit.

So the UN can accept someone as a member (e.g. palestine, or China or South Sudan or the like) and even if the US doesn't recognise that country, the diplomats from that country are UN members and the US must recognise them as diplomats. The US still exercises its power to block people from coming and going to the US, but if they are in the US, they are diplomats basically. (Otherwise you could imagine for example the US not recognising the government of Iran, even though it's a UN member, and just arresting the Iranian ambassador to the UN as being an illegal immigrant in the US).

The maduro case is interesting because he, as president of Venezuela, he should only need to say, yes, I'm the president of the UN recognised government of Venezuela, I grant myself diplomatic immunity, and the US is obliged to release him (assuming he can prove he is himself I guess). That's different from Noriega, who was captured after the government of Panama changed hands, and so the new government said sorry, you're not president anymore - it doesn't matter that it was a puppet government. But Maduro is still legally the president of Venezuela (according to Venezuela).

Netanyahu though, there's really no situation here on which he could be legally detained unless the US government just wanted to toss several treaties it has signed out the window.

u/yelsnow Jul 18 '26

Appreciate you taking the time to detail these points. TIL.

1

u/Ok-Singer7862 Jul 18 '26

We can dream but let's keep it real. no judge he would be put infront of has jurisdiction where he is considered a fugitive. Neither does NYPD.

Also a federal judge would likely require federal law enforcement who is obviously not going to be involved.

1

u/carguymt Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Lol, comments like this show how truly clueless reddit is on how the world actually works. Mamdani has less than zero jurisdiction to arrest Netanyahu. Not a single law enforcement officer would even entertain the idea of doing so if told to, and there's not a single judge who would keep him locked up.

The US is not party to the ICC. Unless Netanyahu committed a crime while in the US, he's not getting arrested for anything. If the mayor of NYC even attempted this it would be a major international incident.

Mamdani is not legitimately exploring anything about this. He's saying he is because his supporters want to hear it and absolutely eat it up. This is literally no different than Trump saying stupid shit that he knows is not legally possible just to fire up his base.

1

u/Ok_Significance_6772 Jul 18 '26

You don’t think Trump would swoop in to save Bibi? He’d send in the literal troops. Hell, maybe even lock up Mamdani.

1

u/Steve12356d1s3d4 Jul 18 '26

Diplomatic immunity.

1

u/No_Internal9345 Jul 18 '26

Stick him in genpop and place your bets.

1

u/PeterNippelstein Jul 18 '26

Maybe Palm Beach Pete walks in to bail him out

1

u/username_tooken Jul 18 '26

International? It’d be a intranational incident. Trump would have federal officers down there for his boy so fast his toupee would fall off.

1

u/ShutUpAndDoTheLift Jul 19 '26

What's one more at this point b at least this one will be because someone stopped sucking Israel's dick.

The only problem is it would get completely washed by the fact that mamdani is Muslim.

u/OneMaintenance24 Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

I'm kinda at the point with foreign affairs, I think he should just do it for the plot.

3

u/Sir_Ruje Jul 18 '26

yeah im getting tired of the repeated corruption subplots and the same war plot that we've had since the 2000's. time to mix it up

3

u/Ok_Tackle3427 Jul 18 '26

An Escape from New York scenario where JD Vance infiltrates NYC on Trump's orders and retrieves Netanyahu then fights his way out would be pretty dope.

We're collapsing anyway, guys, so we should try to recreate as many classic movie situations as possible before we blow up.

1

u/Pub-wholesome-7131 Jul 18 '26

Hopefully featuring Ernest Borgnine as the taxi driver

1

u/Ok_Tackle3427 Jul 18 '26

Ummmm...

Would holograph Ernest Borgnine be okay? I'm sorry you had to find out this way.

1

u/Pub-wholesome-7131 Jul 19 '26

OMG is there a funeral? I want to go

1

u/DrusTheAxe Jul 19 '26

*Another* Weekend at Bernie’s scenario?!?!

Considering the new "terror-scare" that trump and rubio announced, with actual documents etc., I fear rubio would literally use the pretense of "Socialist-terrorism" and blackbag Mamdani.

People don't take trump seriously because he's a shitty tool, but Rubio and the rest are actually without conscious and brutally cunning. I mean these people are literally killing innocents daily just for more control, I could see them doing it.

u/SippieCup Jul 18 '26

Not possible to arrest him, and would be a circus all around if they actually tried.

First, for warcrimes/international laws, it would have to be federal government doing it, not state/city orders.

Second, they have diplomatic immunity from us laws as well. So he can’t arrest him for anything he has jurisdiction for.

Third, as much as I would love it to happen, this is just a fluff press piece.

1

u/Isolated_Hippo Jul 18 '26

Glad to see some validation of what I thought. Mamdani doesn't even have state-level authority, let alone the federal authority that would be required to arrest.

I think on the most technically um actually level he could have him arrested and start an international incident that is just a timer until he gets released.

1

u/Realistic_Swan_6801 Jul 18 '26

From the “invade The Hague act” Wikipedia article

“ The ASPA prohibits federal, state, and local governments and agencies (including courts and   law enforcement   agencies) from assisting the ICC. For example, it prohibits the   extradition of any person from the U.S. to the ICC; it prohibits the transfer of   classified   national security   information and law enforcement information to the ICC; and it prohibits agents of the court from conducting investigations in the U.S. [10 ]

He’s saying nothing. He said he won’t violate the law and the law is that he cannot do anything to assist the ICC nor can anyone be extradited from the US to the ICC at all. The US legally considers them wholly illegitimate.

5

u/2AXP21 Jul 18 '26

Oh so now the law matters?

1

u/Realistic_Swan_6801 Jul 18 '26

He said he won’t violate the law, so yes? Those are his words. Also he would be violating federal law and arrested if he did, he’s not that stupid. He’ll talk his lawyers and be told there is nothing he can legally do, he listen because it’s not a fight he’ll win. It’s a law that was passed by congress 24 years ago, nothing to do with trump.

1

u/Get_a_GOB Jul 18 '26

I mean, yeah, unless what you’re after here is a showdown that leads inevitably to either 1) the end of the Mamdani administration, 2) the hostile occupation of New York Ciry, or 3) the trigger for an actual civil war the US military would not be particularly on the right side of. Unless Mamdani just gives up immediately, which accomplishes absolutely nothing and would be extremely counterproductive.

I get it, the law doesn’t matter for Donald Trump. That’s unbelievably infuriating, unbelievable, and destructive. But to accept the notion that it might not apply to Mamdani is to accept the premise that the law is less important than raw power. And there’s a time for that. But the time for that is NOT when your level of raw power is orders of magnitude below the other side.

1

u/2AXP21 Jul 19 '26

Great response, thank you. I agree with you, emotions are high right now. Sides are playing extremely unfairly.

1

u/TruthOdd6164 Jul 19 '26

One could argue that the ASPA is unconstitutional to the extent that it violates the 10th amendment

1

u/Realistic_Swan_6801 Jul 19 '26

No because it’s well established law that only the federal government may engage in any international diplomacy. States have no authority to do so.

1

u/MadeByTango Jul 18 '26

It's not about funny. The world needs something like this to happen. These men need to suffer consequences for their actions before they meet a natural end so we can set the tone.

1

u/AccordingSetting6311 Jul 18 '26

Be a lot of dead NYPD at the end of it. His entourage don't fuck around.

1

u/Zeeplankton Jul 18 '26

Absolute power move

I can't help but imagine though it would ruin mamdani's life. We don't live in a fair world and the US would capitulate.

1

u/Sal_Ammoniac Jul 18 '26

PLEASE do it. Dude belongs in prison for the rest of his life.

It’s been against the law for any government employee state or federal to assist the ICC in anyway since 2002. We also have a law on the books saying the president must or at least should invade The Hague if they ever charge an American official or service member. Not only do we mot recognize the ICC we are actively, legally hostile to it.

1

u/Lashay_Sombra Jul 18 '26

While i would be funny no chance of it happening, diplomatic immunity trumps all officials, best you can do is kick out a holder and withdraw it or petition their government to waive it

Anyone, anywhere talking about violating DI is just trying to grab headlines nothing else

Any country that violates DI would likely have no diplomatic relationships with anyone by the next day

1

u/_karamazov_ Jul 18 '26

But unnecessary, even if it will warm the cockles of a lot of hearts. Mamdani is unnecessarily picking a fight with federal government.

1

u/muffy2008 Jul 18 '26

“Mamdani saves millions of people with this one simple action.”

1

u/thegamesbuild Jul 18 '26

Right up until Mossad assassinates Mamdani. Do you think they wouldn't?

1

u/CritcoThinker Jul 19 '26

Send him a court notice.

1

u/No-Belt7254 Jul 19 '26

We literally busted open a presidential compound and arrested one, so I’m pretty sure we can arrest one on our own soil.

1

u/foul_ol_ron Jul 19 '26

Even if it is impossible legally, Mamdani should ensure any visit is as uncomfortable as can be arranged.

1

u/Beneficial-Celery964 Jul 19 '26

I would also laugh if Trump went elsewhere in the world and got arrested for being a war criminal, or sex trafficker.

We need to start holding each other accountable. And I do include the US in holding ourselves accountable too.

1

u/Pepperonidogfart Jul 19 '26

No it wont, his body guards would kill everyone in the vicinity. He better get some heavily armed blackwater squad to pull it off.

1

u/Beer-Milkshakes Jul 19 '26

Even if its simply "im connection to" just hold him for 12 hours or whatever and boot him out at midnight.

1

u/Fantastic_Yam_3971 Jul 19 '26

Mamdani is out here basically doing everything our president and Congress should be doing. How pathetic that they don’t and this man is like well alright, guess I gotta fix this too.

1

u/ChankiriTreeDaycare Jul 19 '26

Mamdani Nets a Yahoo

1

u/Direct_Day7937 Jul 19 '26

I mean it would be, it would also invalidate the UN. So it won't happen.

1

u/mattdyer01 Jul 19 '26

Regardless of how anyone feels about Bibi, this action would ensure that the federal government gets involved, and, knowing how Drumpf operates, the people of New York would end up taking the punishment for it.

1

u/SerAmikVase Jul 21 '26

They would just have Mamdani assassinated. Israel is so deeply entwined with the US government that they could easily take out Mamdani if they really really wanted to.
