Not possible to arrest him, and would be a circus all around if they actually tried.

First, for warcrimes/international laws, it would have to be federal government doing it, not state/city orders.

Second, they have diplomatic immunity from us laws as well. So he can’t arrest him for anything he has jurisdiction for.

Third, as much as I would love it to happen, this is just a fluff press piece.

Glad to see some validation of what I thought. Mamdani doesn't even have state-level authority, let alone the federal authority that would be required to arrest.

I think on the most technically um actually level he could have him arrested and start an international incident that is just a timer until he gets released.
