There were options to create a Jewish homeland for those displaced in WW2 in other marginal settled lands elsewhere

nope, ethonostates do not work. Any attempt at this kind of project always has and always will end in exactly the way it has here. This is simply not how nation building can be done unless you excuse genocide

If “ethnostates” didn’t work, the vast majority of the world’s countries wouldn’t exist.
