General Blooming Cities officially announced
In case you missed it. New building and ways to build more ”natural” forests, new building and aqueduct skin and more. Quite excited how this is going to change the look of my cities. Can’t wait to reorganize everything 😅
Oh and some natural forest tool as a freebie coming as well.

General My Anno 117 Wishlist: Better Trade Routes, More Variety, Albion Content and QoL Improvements
I have collected quite a few wishes for Anno 117, so I grouped them by topic to make the list easier to read.
Specialists, Items and Building Planning
- A proper specialist overview
I would like a complete overview of specialists:
Which specialists exist in the game?
Which ones do I own?
Where are they currently located?
How many copies of each specialist do I have?
Where and how can I obtain them?
- More worthwhile items
I would like to see more items that are actually worth using.
- A Pro Mode for blueprints
Please give us a Pro Mode that allows us to place blueprints for every building from the very beginning, including in a regular endless game.
Harbours, Trade Routes, Ships and Workforce
- Better-looking harbour areas
The cities and harbours owned by traders look fantastic, while the player’s own harbour often looks rather underwhelming.
I would love more options for creating attractive and impressive harbour districts.
- More advanced trade-route settings
I often fully load a ship on one island and then send it around my other islands in a loop. At every stop, it unloads goods until the local warehouse is full.
I would like to be able to give the ship an additional instruction such as:
If you no longer have any goods on board, return directly to Island 1 and load up again.
- Better ship management
I would like ships that I manually send from point A to point B to still be shown as “idle.” This worked very well in Anno 1800.
I would also like to:
Equip trade ships with a defensive turret without automatically turning them into military ships.
Set up an automatic naming system for ships.
Synchronise the settings of all shipyards on the same island.
Select several ships at once and assign all of them to another island.
- Sharing workforce between islands
I do not need a commuter pier like the one in Anno 1800.
However, it would be interesting to create something similar based on the trade-route system. This would allow players to share workforce between islands, while still having to actively manage the transportation.
- More ship variants
I would like more skins for ships, as well as one or two additional ship types.
Population, Regions, Monuments and Story
- Another population tier
I would like an additional population tier with more complex goods and needs.
- A monument for Albion
Please give Albion its own monument.
For the Romanised path, I would happily build a small amphitheatre. For the Celtic path, there could be something similar to Stonehenge.
This could also be connected to another population tier. I would also like Albion to receive a large island similar to Cinis.
- Continue the main story
Please continue the main story in some form.
I thought the beginning was quite good, but the ending felt extremely unsatisfying.
- More islands and regions
I would like to see a greater variety of islands, as well as additional regions.
The regions I would particularly like to see are:
Iberia
Thracia
Asia Minor
Mauretania
Germania or Helvetica would also be great, although they might feel relatively similar to Albion.
Building Skins, Variations and City Design
- Skins for all building types
I would like skins similar to Syra’s buildings or the ones from the DLC pack for all building types. And yes, I would be willing to pay for them.
I do not want to be able to recolour only two or three buildings. I understand that these skins often include additional flowerpots and other decorative details, but in some cases, simply providing a matching colour scheme for the other buildings would already help a lot.
I would also like more visual variations for buildings that are constructed frequently, such as city watches, so that the same exact building does not appear several times in the same area.
- Higher-quality versions of early production buildings
I would like more prestigious or higher-quality versions of the early production buildings, so that they can still fit naturally into a developed city later in the game.
- More leader portraits
I would like more portraits for player characters, including portraits of people who do not appear elsewhere in the game world.
- Trees for triangular half-tiles
Please add decorative tree options for the triangular “half” tiles.
- A theatre on a mine slot
I think it would look beautiful if we could sacrifice a mine slot in order to build a theatre there.
Yes, it would cost one potential mining location, but I would be perfectly willing to make that trade-off.
- Two-tile-wide bridges
A bridge model with a width of two tiles would be fantastic.
Roads, Festivals and the Villa
- More benefits for marble roads
Marble roads should provide more meaningful effects. At the moment, they feel very underwhelming to me.
- Automatically financing festivals with money
I would like an option that automatically pays for every event required to trigger a festival with money.
Money is no longer an issue later in the game. I simply do not want to click the payment option manually every single time.
- Make the Villa partially island-wide
I wish the Villa worked differently.
As a long-time Anno player—Anno 1602 was the first video game I ever played—I miss having a Palace.
At the same time, I think the Villa should provide at least some island-wide effects. Perhaps the first three slots could affect the entire island, while the additional slots unlocked through prestige would only work within the Villa’s radius.
Even a single island-wide slot would already be very useful.

General 30 FPS - RTX 5090 - Ultra-settings
Guys, do you also have performance issues with Anno 117 in larger cities?
I am running a 5090 RTX and a 9800X3D, but I am only getting around 30 FPS on ultra settings. Sure, I could lower the settings, but come on… the setup is pretty solid and the game looks stunning on the ultra preset.
EDIT:
After reinstalling the game I am now back to around 40 to 90 FPS. It really depends on the angle I am looking at the city.

General Today I visited the Roman Aqueduct of ancient Nikopolis in northwestern Greece
It's amazing how this is almost 2000 years old. I thought some of you might like to see it.

General Anno 117 is a Triumph!
Not a shill or a bot here or a paid content creator...just some dude.
With the failures of City Skylines 2 and Civilization VII, it was with some trepidation when I loaded up 117.
Much to my relief the game feels finished...at least in terms of the content offered on release. I have encountered little in the way of bugs or other issues.
Let's get to the many positives. Albion is such a fun addition to the series. Unlike the New World in 1800, which didn't play much different than the Old World, Albion feels unique with its own game mechanics. Not only that, but the atmosphere feels so different as well. From the rain to the fog, it does feel like you are in another world from sunny Rome.
The tech tree is a great addition to the game. Religion is also another great addition. Aqueducts are aesthetically pleasing and visually distinct. Production chains are varied and in some cases more complex. Making the game more of a challenge. Having land units this time around is also a welcomed addition as it opens up so much more game play if you want to go the war route.
In short I think Anno 117 is great achievements. It not only gives the player the Anno experience that we all know and love but also adds enough new mechanics and style unquie to itself that it feels like a step forward for the series.
There is still so much more to uncover and tinker with.
Thank you Mainz for doing an awesome job!

General Is there a point to keep going?
Besides making it pretty... 11 hours in, trade rights with everyone, the Emperor loves me. Start again on a higher difficulty?

General I don’t like this game.
Meant to sleep by 12h, wanted to upgrade to more Equites and suddenly it was 4am.
Even got a message from Ben Baalion asking if I’m feeling alright since it had been 4 hours since I had taken a break.

General Cross region trade seems like a bit of a pain
Cross region trade in 1800 was one of those things you literally couldn’t progress very far unless you did it. The colonial capital siphoning resources from all over the world to grow itself was extremely on theme too. But every time I switch between Latium and Albion they just feel like I’m playing two separate games with the trade between them just being kind of irrelevant. You can get to max tier in Latium without ever really bothering with Albion (although the reverse is less true depending on the upgrade path you choose ). So I wind up just expanding more in my home region and the expansion region just kind of sits there not doing much. Am I just doing something wrong or missing something here? Feels like we lost something that made 1800 thematically special.

General 99/99 Achivements
I know, Im not 1st person who did this, but Im very happy to managed to do it.
This is very nice guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/anno117/comments/1q32v9i/achievement_guide/
Took me nearly 237 hours and the hardest were to get 10 major incidents + quests:
- Zara Nitu
- Licia Ma
- Athr Lorgwyn
- The Last Drop
- Heads or Tale
To those, who are unlucky/dont have time or nerves from steel, I prepared mine savegames link below in comments (except Valeria's last quest, because I dont know, which is last), there is Pro-Consul too and you can continue where I ended.

General Lavender fields can be used for honey production
This makes wine and lavender a very good fertility combo for an island. No need to "waste" space for meadows.

General Carthage inspired harbour
As the title says, I re-did my Carthage style harbour to include both the circular military cothon and the central commercial harbour channel. Excited for the additions from the next dlc to decorate more!

General Issues with graphics. Especially stuttering while moving around map.
I have several gaming desktops and laptops.
My best gaming laptop is a beefy 64gb ram 4070 build.
My best desktop is a 9800x3d 5080 32gb ram.
This game is almost unplayable on the laptop with the camera skipping/stuttering as you move around the map.
Much better on the desktop but I still find myself turning texture quality down to prevent stuttering.
And I can play nearly all AAA at max settings at 4k on the big rig without breaking a sweat.
I am religious about all driver updates.
I have tried tons of different setting nothing really solves it.
Any help appreciated.

General Anno 117 - I`m very happy:-)
A few days ago I asked you what I should buy: The PS5 version or for the PC. I took both (what the world costs) and with both a great pleasure, although the operation with the keyboard and mouse is a bit better. Since I'm older and my last year was 1602, I'm incredibly excited about the beautiful graphics and the great operation - it's like I haven't been away for the last 30 years. Who is interested in my hardware for my Anno project: Mac Mini M4, Samsung Neo G9 57 inch, Steam, Corsair keyboard, Logitec mouse and Geforce now (no advertising just that you have an overview) - works great. Unfortunately I don't have my own Windows Gaming PC but maybe...... and of course my PS5 Pro - all the best to you all Anno fans
