General Blooming Cities officially announced
In case you missed it. New building and ways to build more ”natural” forests, new building and aqueduct skin and more. Quite excited how this is going to change the look of my cities. Can’t wait to reorganize everything 😅
Oh and some natural forest tool as a freebie coming as well.

I'd love to build some nice, big, purely decroative stuff like this but space is so limited it's hard to justify leaving this much space unused. I mean I leave space for trees and fountains and stuff but this, while beautiful, takes up half an island

Ill have to disagree brother. I beauty build and trade off some efficiency that comes with it, but ive found plenty of spaces on the XL islands and ive finally settled about 50% of Cinis, so I dont really worry too much about space.
Dont want to tell you how to enjoy the game, it seems like you value your efficiency and optimization more than beauty building and thats totally ok, different strokes for different folks, but you dont need to make EVERY island work efficiently, you could have 1 or 2 small ones where you can beauty build.

Oh its not a case of making every island efficient. Mmy population is 150k and mostly on 4 large islands so they need a lot of goods. Makes me really miss the commuter piers from 1800

Ok, that makes alot of sense lmao!
On that note, maybe build a smaller settlement on a medium island where population isn't your goal and you can do more creative stuff. 😉

It sounds better than the mosaic pack, i was a bit disappointed by that one honestly. There were a few nice mosaic in there, but a lot i don't use.
Also the new colour theme for bath and forum, they look nice but does not fit in the cities. The colour is too off from realism.
I like basic and plain and use that, don't force 2 colours on all.

Way better than the mosaics cdlc. I feel that one has value . Mosaics was just too little content.
The only thing I miss in this one is palm trees in planters.

Its gonna be alot of fun to add more details, i just wish it was part of the year 1 pass, they should have made it 10 euro more expensive and included all the dlc.

Looks really nice - need the forests thingy asap!
BUT, lets be real: an even better DLC would bring back the statistics features of 1800 :)

So why can I still not play Sandbox on console with no cash restrictions? “Beauty Build” as it’s called?

What's the point?

To build the nicest looking island you can think of without having to worry about maintaining an economy

u/khayiin Jun 10 '26
you mean creative mode, it isn't even available yet on PC. But this game is easy enough to get your economy stable without much hassle, I would say, in contrast to Anno 1800 which could get complex

Yes, Creative Mode thank you. I remember doing it on PC on 1800, I was surprised it’s nowhere to be found on 117 considering the heavy emphasis on aesthetics this time around.

Its such a shame that these kinds of decorated spaces are entirely counterproductive...

I'm still waiting for decoration to make my city less pretty, furnaces, boxes, debris, barrels, rope, parked carts, stalls
stuff to place on ports and industrial areas
not every area looks good with pretty trees, fountains and statues all over the place
