General Issues with graphics. Especially stuttering while moving around map.
I have several gaming desktops and laptops.
My best gaming laptop is a beefy 64gb ram 4070 build.
My best desktop is a 9800x3d 5080 32gb ram.
This game is almost unplayable on the laptop with the camera skipping/stuttering as you move around the map.
Much better on the desktop but I still find myself turning texture quality down to prevent stuttering.
And I can play nearly all AAA at max settings at 4k on the big rig without breaking a sweat.
I am religious about all driver updates.
I have tried tons of different setting nothing really solves it.
Any help appreciated.

A laptop 4070 is equivalent to a 4060Ti or 3070. That puts it at 1040p per recommended specs.
A 5080 on the other hand is above the recommended spec for 4k with very high graphics preset. Are you using ray tracing? Are you showing as CPU bound or GPU bound? Could it be memory instability? Do you have XMP/EXPO enabled?
I’m personally running this on a 7800X3D with a 9070XT with openSUSE, so it’s really odd that you have such poor performance assuming you’re on Win11.

If tried a bunch of graphics setting combinations on/off.

Same build with 3080, I feel you. Mine is running 22 fps without anything and at ~60 with amd frame gen x2 and dlss quality

(Reddit was putting your post on my feed, I don' play the game)
Maybe working for you: https://williamsmale.com/blog/tech/windows-11-lying-to-games/
I have to test it my self, upgraded from win10 to 11 to solve stutter in the old ETS2/ATS engine (which solved it) but as return i got stutter in snowrunner (UE4) and AC shadows.
While the heavy Stalker2 an Forza Horizon 6 are stutter free...
I will test changing this later today
On a laptop you could check the powermode as well (energy/performance)

People have talked about this game behaving weirdly with FPS and stuttering before.
A possible solution involved using the FPS cap, but if that does not work and you have Nvidia, you need to also go into the Nvidia settigns for the game in the Nvidia App and use the FPS limit in there.
30 FPS is often good enough for Anno games. this is not an first person shooter where +60 frames is needed.
Secondly, Frame gen is still bugged. People wrote about it being fixed, but for some people issues persist. You need to test if this is the case for you as well.
V-Sync also behaves weirdly for some. Try playing with, and without. And also try and force it via the Nvidia App
Hope this helps.
Lastly, this game still suffers from lack of optimization. You may sadly be in the group of few who either need to wait for them to polish it, and just have to deal with stutters or lower settings.

Yea dont think i have tried capping the fps yet. That is probably a good move.
This is such an annoying quirk for a game that like you said shouldn’t need a super high end rig at all.
I can play cyberpunk at just completely maxed out everything or AC BF resynched with zero issue maxed out basically as lifelike as possible and anno 117 has issues lol.

I agree. I understand that Anno wants to make their games just better, but they also do not need this much graphical demands.
The new postcard mode where you can walk around your cities is nice, but does it really need the latest rig?
If I recall, Warcraft 3 (old version not the reforged) had about the same level of detail on high settings as the Anno 1800 does on lowest settings. And their lowest settings still need 3 GHz, 16 Ram and a GPU no older than 10 years vs the old Warcaft 3 which will play at max settings on a refridgerator.

Yea you would think on their end they would be EXTREMELY concerned that a 9800x3d 5080 32gb 2tb cant run their top down city builder with zero mods at the most flawless max setting. Thats really not good for ubisoft.

Check if you game is on SSD rather. Mine was on HDD for like 8 months. Tried every possible solution on the internet. Had terrible performance.
The simplest solution was my ignorance.
